Chapter 26: Ahsoka is the key
Darth Vader's POV
Maul looked up at him with blood pouring from his nose and a cut lip that made his mouth sag a little but then he did something that annoyed Vader, he started to laugh. Not so much a happy laugh but more of a cackle like his master usually does except this one was no where near like Sidious' cackle and it was far less frightening.
"Don't you think if I knew where he was I would have killed him by now. That is my only goal now, to hunt and kill Obi-Wan Kenobi so that I may get my revenge." Maul said.
Vader then out of anger, grabbed one of Maul's horns which earned him a grunt from the Zabrak and picked him up so that his robotic feet were hanging just above the ground and they were staring each other right in the eyes. The only thing blocking them were Vader's mechanical eyes and the only sound between either of them was his respirator.
"You will tell me everything you know about Kenobi's location and I will stop at NOTHING to extract that information from you and if that means that I have to cut every limb from your body then so be it!" Vader roared as he spun around and sent Maul flying across the courtyard for the second time today and to the Sith Lords surprise, Maul landed at Sidious's feet who had apparently walked down to the courtyard to see what was going on.
After several minutes of laying on the ground, Maul sat up and looked at Vader and for the first time today, Vader saw fear in Maul's eyes.
Kanan's POV
"Why are you doing this?" Ahsoka asked. Looking around he could see that no one had moved, he guessed that everyone was waiting for either him or Ahsoka to make the first move as they were the unofficial leaders of both sides.
"I know your really working for Vader" he said pushing his lightsaber against her two.
"That's obscene" she said trying to act surprised. I know what your up to he thought
"Tell that to Bail Organa when I bring you in" he grunted as he force pushed Ahsoka off of him and that was when the battle begun.
Team mate VS team mate. Friend VS friend. Ally VS ally. Rebel VS rebel. These were just a few of the things that Kanan thought as he heard the sound of lightsabers clashing against each other and laser blasts going off around the hanger. Although his attention was mainly focused on fighting Ahsoka, he would sometimes peek out of the corner of his eye to watch the other brawls going on.
He saw that Ezra was evenly matched against Bo Katan who used the ancient Darksaber as her weapon while also using her Mandalorian equipment, however Ezra was using his force abilities to his advantage. Rex and Lux had taken cover behind opposite crates and cargo boxes as they fired upon each other hoping to get a shot on the other one and Sabine and Hera had chosen to forsake their blaster's, instead using hand to hand combat to fight.
He couldn't tell about the others but he knew that he was certainly loosing to Ahsoka as her lightsaber skills were far superior to his. Kanan's style of fighting usually used a mix of defensive moves as well as attacking moves but right now he could only manage defensive moves as Ahsoka just launched one attack after the other. She was coming from the side, then from the top, the back to the side and then she would randomly through in an attack to the chest that he would just be able to dodge.
After trying to hold his ground, Ahsoka sent a massive burst of force energy that sent Kanan flying through the hanger and had everyone stop what they were doing.
"Everyone come on! We have to go" Ahsoka yelled to her team.
Kanan watched as Rex, Sabine and Bo sprinted to the ship that had just parked minutes ago and watched as it sailed out of the rebel hanger and off into Takodana's atmosphere, eventually reaching space. Everyone stood in silence for several minutes.
"Kanan, what do we do now?" Ezra asked as he came to help Kanan up.
"We counter-attack"
Darth Vader's POV
The four of them (Vader, Palpatine, Maul and Barriss) filed their way back to Palpatine's throne room in the Imperial Palace where they all stood being Palpatine's desk except for Maul who sat on the floor opposite.
"You well now tell Lord Vader everything you know about Kenobi's whereabouts" Palpatine said as Vader walked around the desk so that he was in front of Maul.
"Well like I said before I don't know where he is...but I know who does. Tano. Ahsoka Tano knows where Obi-Wan Kenobi is."
The Civil War has finally begun! Ahsoka knows where Obi-Wan is (apparently) and Kanan and his team are about to launch a counter-attack against Ahsoka and her team! Could things get any more crazier? Find out in the next chapter but first I'm gonna go update Endgame
