Chapter 6: Old Friends
Ahsoka's POV
Ahsoka looked behind her to look at Rex, "it's good to see you again" she said smiling, the only response she got from him was a smile and a small laugh. "AHSOKA" she heard both Kanan and Ezra gasp as they sat up and their jaws dropped. The assassin slowly turned around to face her, "Ahsoka Tano alive. Hm. Lord Vader will be very interested to hear about this" she said, her real voice disguised by the mask, "wait Vader's alive?!" Ezra said with alarm. "Of course he is" the assassin snapped at the boy while still facing Ahsoka. "You should give up now assassin, do you really want to try me? I've gone up against General Grievous, Asajj Ventress, Darth Maul, Inquisitors and Darth Vader" Ahsoka said confidently. "You forgot about me" the assassin said as she reached her hands up to take the mask off, Ahsoka had her hands on her lightsabers but didn't activate them yet, she was very interested to see who it was. All of a sudden Ahsoka gasped, "BARRISS"
Rex's POV
Rex also gasped at the sight of seeing Barriss Offee being the assassin. Throughout the Clone Wars, Ahsoka and Barriss had formed a strong friendship until Barriss betrayed Ahsoka, resulting in the Torguta leaving the Jedi Order. "Surprised" Barriss smirked at Ahsoka, "I am but I shouldn't, betraying people is what you excel in" Ahsoka snapped back, Rex knew she was trying to hide her surprise. Rex watched as the now revealed Barriss Offee activated her lightsabers and pointed them at Ahsoka, "I will now finish what I started all those years ago"
Ahsoka's POV
To say she was surprised was an understatement. Ahsoka had thought that Barriss was gone form her life. The last time she saw her was when she had to team up with Anakin to re-capture her after she had escaped but that was so long ago and she didn't even think that The Empire had her alive let alone train her to hunt down Jedi, but yet here she was, clashing lightsabers with her.
"I knew you were an extremist but I never imagined you'd work for the Empire, you know Vader and The Emperor are Sith?" Ahsoka asked rhetorically trying to distract Barriss. "Well you remember my speech, the Jedi were the true villains, so of course I'd help make them go extinct!" Barriss yelled as she brought her lightsaber swinging down at Ahsoka who was already ready to block them. Pushing Barriss back with the force she yelled out to Kanan and Ezra, "Grab Rex and get to the Phantom! I'll meet you there"
"Oh no, you're going first this time" Ezra said as he and Kanan engaged with the fallen Jedi. Ahsoka smiled as she turned around to go grab Rex only to see him running towards none other than Darth Vader
(A few minutes earlier)
Rex's POV
As Rex watched the 2 former friends clash, he heard the unmistakeable sound of a TIE fighter approaching and looked up to see Darth Vader standing on top of it. Vader, this is all your fault, for 3 months you had me believe my best friend was dead and now you're going to pay!
