Chapter 8 - Baby Bottle (3/???)
Cuphead was left in silence, fidgeting as the clock was ticking.
He looked at the baby, giving a smile.
He then began to make funny faces, trying to make Baby Bottle laugh:
- Peek-a-boo! Peek-a-boo! Peek-a-boo!
But no result
Baby Bottle, unamused, was staring at Cuphead.
Mugman's brother and Y/N's friend wasn't losing hope and continued to make funny faces until he was squirted at with milk, the baby was doing so.
Cuphead's face was drenched with milk, in which he eventually shook off
He chose to act as a parent, who is not happy wuth his child's actions:
- Now baby, you know it's not polite to-
Baby Bottle didn't let him finish, as he was squirted with milk once more, this time being pushed into the antique china
Items started to collapse from the shelves
Cuphead, scared of what can happen, frantically, but successfully, caught everything, what could break, but didn't.
He placed them back on the shelves, then noticed baby, who was crawling into the closet
- Baby, no!
He ran after Baby Bottle and opened the closet, only to be crushed by stuff inside.
The baby crawled out on top of it, sliding down and giggling.
- Now I understand Y/N... - he was dizzy, but Cuphead found strength to say it
But only he said it, a bowling ball spinned around on his head until it plopped inside.
He heard ripping, looked over and saw that baby was tearing out some of the pages of a book.
Immediately, he dived inside the pile to stop it
- BABY!
The book was thrown at him
The baby started to laugh, falling on it's back.
In the kitchen, Mugman and Y/N heard the commotion.
- I just knew they'd get along. Mugman said with a smile, before peeking his head back inside the fridge
But Y/N believed Cuphead has problems with Baby Bottle
- "It was a bad idea to take care of it since the start..." - he told himself, then to Mugman - I'll go check on the two. Is it not a problem if you'll prepare food for Baby by yourself?
- Not at all! - Mugman answered and Y/N left the kitchen
And oh boy, what was he seeing....
He was seeing Cuphead, he sat up
And it was easy to tell he was getting annoyed.
- Now, baby- he couldn't finish, again, cause he saw the baby rattling the table Elder Kettle's radio was on.
Y/N wasn't wasting time and stopped Baby Bottle
The radio was saved
- Phew! - Cuphead was relaxed - Thanks, Y/N, you cane just in time!
- .... You understand now, don't you? - Y/N asked him with serious look on his face
- Yeah.... - Cuphead was really now understanding the situation - But... How can Mugman understand baby is not good at all?
- Hm.... - that's when Y/N noticed, that the baby was gone - What the?!
- Mama? - Baby Bottle's voice caught their attention
Both Cuphead and Y/N looked up and gasped/were shocked
Why?
The baby was on the shelf, slowly but surely pushing the fish bowl towards the edge
Inside of the bowl, obviously, was a fish
Cuphead became anxious, so did Y/N:
Cuphead: Don't do it...
The baby continued to slowly push the bowl
It didn't looked like Baby Bottle is planning to even listen
Y/N: Don't do it! You'll regret it!
Cuphead: Easy...
The bowl was getting closer and closer as the baby's smile grew bigger
Y/N: Don't you dare!
Cuphead: Easy...
But in the end, of course, the baby pushed the bowl off the shelf and onto the floor, leaving it shattered and the fish flailing around.
- Awh, come on! - Cuphead exclaimed, picking up the fish
- Okay, that's it! - Y/N had enough of this - I'm getting rid of the baby right now!
But only he said it, Mugman, who heard the sound of glass being shattered, stepped out of the kitchen and gasped in horror
- Cuphead! Y/N! Glass on the floor? Baby could get hurt!
-Well, baby broke the fish bowl! - his brother answered, with angry look on his face, tossing the fish inside his cup
- Sorry, Mugman - Y/N told Mugman with sad voice at firet and closed eyes - but it was a bad idea to take care of baby since the start!
- Well, you were supposed to be watching baby! - Mugman answered, not happy from the fact his brother and friend "weren't watching" the baby, then added, words were for Y/N - I won't let you!-
- That baby is not a normal- - Cuphead started to say, but, third time already, didn't finish, cause he noticed the baby was gone - Wait, where's baby?
They then noticed, looked, at the door, which was opened
- BABY! - the brothers sprinted outside
And Y/N?
- "I don't regret leaving my job of taking care of babies after getting first paycheck" - he told himself and followed the brothers outside
