Chapter 7 - Baby Bottle (2/???)
- Come think about it - Y/N started to explain to brothers - This baby appeared out of nowhere - that's 1st strange thing. The 2nd one is - what if someone left it on purpose?
- You can't be serious - Mugman answered - But I agree: how could someone leave something so precious? - he took the baby in his hands
But Y/N wasn't thinking the same:
- Precious? - he raised an eyebrow - I doubt that
- Uh, Mugman? Y/N? - Cuphead closed the entrance door and asked his brother and friend, while going back inside the cottage -What are we supposed to do with a baby?
- When it comes to babies - Y/N knew some experience with babies - you must do everything possible: give it food, love, change their diapers and nany other things. Trust me, my own experience was... Interesting - he started to remember the day, when he was watching after 3 babies, he left the job as soon as he got his first paycheck
But Mugman was trying to let them see good side in the situation they're in right now:
- Come on, Y/N, it can't be that bad. Besides, we'll show it love, of course. - he putted the baby on the floor and sat next to it - Just watch and learn - he turned to Baby Bottle and was smiling to it - Hello, baby. My name is Mugman; can you say, Mu–
Baby Bottle said:
- Mama.
It said gis name wrong, but for Mugman, it was enough to become overjoyed and start to squeal with excitement as he looked at YN and Cuphead, who were confused (Cuphead) and lost (Y/N)
Y/N was lost cause Mugman accepted Baby Bottle too quickly, not even 5 minutes of it being inside the cottage passed
How can he?
No, how could he?
- That's right, baby! - Mugman was saying with happiness -That's exactly right! Boop! - he booped the baby's nose; and it started to giggle
- I'm telling you, Mugman - Y/N was serious now - some babies aren't nearly as cute as they're made out to be. - and with these words, he went to the kitchen, to prepare something to eat
Meanwhile, the brothers were left alone with the baby
- Well, then. I guess that means I must be Dada, doesn't it? - Cuphead believed it will be easy to deal with the baby, he picked Baby Bottle up - Right? Dada?
But instead of saying "Dada", Baby Bottle started to cry
And Cuphead started to panic, running around and screaming in circles at the same time
-:MUGMAN! - he chose to ask his brother - WHY'S IT CRYING?!
-You need to burp him, Cuphead! - was the answer
Y/N was ignoring the whole situation, he was minding his own business in the kitchen, making food for baby
But the problem was...
Since the baby is literally a bottle, it's going to be hard to understand what it likes to eat, what to talk about drinking?
Meanwhile, Cuphead, stopping in front of his brother, was now attemptsing to do what Mugman told him to do, but was failing
- I don't think it's working!
- Maybe he needs his diaper changed? - but only Mugman said it, the two froze in disgust of that thought and chose try to change the subject - ...Or I could try burping him again.
- Yeah–yeah, great idea. - sarcasm was heard in Cuphead's voice - Let's back up some more... - he handed Mugman the baby and backed away as soon as he did so.
- It's alright, baby.
Surprisingly, the baby's stomach rumbled and let out a burp.
After that, the bsby giggled
- Yeah, that's better. - Mugman said
And Baby Bottle answered back with a:
- Mama!
- Hey, it worked! - Cuphead was surprised, but what he did next was booped the baby's nose - Boop!
What happened next was...
It was the first sign of the fact Y/N's words are true
The baby bit Cuphead's finger, causing him to scream in agony of his now swollen finger
- Did you see that?! - Cuphead asked Mugman, he looked angry - That thing BIT me!
Y/N asked, showing his head from the kitchen
- Calling babies things is not right, Cuphead. But the fact you're starting to understand that they're not as precious as they're seen at first.. - he then came back to work in the kitchen
Mugman, on the other hand, gasped, he was shocked:
- Cuphead, baby is not a thing! Baby is a baby! - he then told Y/N - And Y/N! Babies can't be as bad as how you told us!
- Ohohoho! - Y/N was finding Mugman's eords funny - Trust me, Mugman, soon you'll start to think otherwise
As soon as Mugman held the baby out to Cuphead, it cooed and blew a raspberry at him
- I think you two need to get along, - he set the baby on the couch, patting its head - while I'll help Y/N prepare some baby food., though I believe you - he said last words to Y/N - Y/N, need to get to know baby better too - he placed Cuphead on the couch, patting his head as well
- Some help is needed - Y/N agreed, he needed some help with baby food, cause dealing with Baby Bottle is not the same as dealing with human babies - Thank you, Mugman. And no, I don't need to get to know baby to understand something is wrong with it - on these words he was serious, even his voice was serious
Anyways...
Mugman lwft for the kitchen, to help Y/N.
He, however, briefly peeked back into the living room, telling Cuphead:
- And now remember! All baby needs is love! - he zipped back into kitchen after these words
Y/N said in his head:
- "Love. Yeah, right! Not with a baby, that appeared out of nowhere and left by unknown who"
