"Then look me in the eyes and tell me that you don't love me".
Jaiden sighed heavily before slowly looking up at me.
"I can't do that Matthew",she said looking back down.
"So....you do, you love me",I said letting a smile fall upon my face.
Jaiden stepped back from me a little, "Of course I do, you're possibly the most perfect person in the world, but you're also my best friend and we can't be together".
I felt frustrated
"Jaiden I don't want to lose our friendship either, but think about this. I know you, I know what makes you happy, what makes you sad or angry. I know things about you that those other guys don't, I know how to keep you".
Jaiden stayed silent.
"Please",I spoke pleadingly but quiet.
Jaiden stepped back again.
I suddenly felt embarrassment wash over me.
What was I thinking? This is Jaiden Stevens, the most amazing girl in the world. I can't have her, I'm barely lucky enough to call her my best friend.
After another moment of letting the cold reality hit me I finally forced my self to turn around.
I prayed Jaiden would stop me from getting into my car and leaving like in the movies,but I've learned a long time ago that life is not like the movies.
"Matt",I heard from behind me.
I stopped myself quickly.
I closed my eyes tightly still holding on to the thought of this being like a scene from a romance movie.
I slowly turned my body around to face her.
She stood there with tears threatening to fall.
C'mon Jaiden just do it, forget about reality.
She ran down the sidewalk and in seconds her lips were on mine.
Talk about a cliché movie moment.
