Jaiden and I are about to go swimming in the lake.
We took turns in the tent so that we could change.
"Okay let's go",Jaiden chimed pulling me towards the water.
We played around and splashed each other.
Jaiden has smiling like crazy which made me smile like crazy.
"Hey love birds",Brendon called from the side of the lake.
I tried to ignore what he called us to keep myself from blushing.
We turned to him, "What do you want?",Jaiden asked.
"The foods ready",he shouted.
"Yas",Jaiden screamed quickly climbing out of he water.
"Gosh calm yourself",Brendon laughed.
I climbed out also and at this point Jaiden was already by the bbq grill where our tents were.
Brendon and I looked at each other and laughed and started to make our way over there.
We all made our plates.
Jaiden, Brendon and I went to find somewhere to sit.
We ended up sitting in one of the few grassy areas under a tree.
Brendon was being Brendon and throwing small pieces of his food at us while Jaiden and I tried our best to ignore him since there was no point in arguing with him.
"Let's go for a walk",Jaiden said finishing off her hamburger.
"Okay",Brendon said getting up.
"No I meant Matt, and only Matt",she told him.
Brendon immediately shot us a smirk, "Oh okay, you kids have fun".
Jaiden rolled her eyes, "Let's go".
Jaiden and I began walking around the lake.
"So um, why didn't you want Brendon to come?",I asked.
"Because I wanted to spend some time alone with my bestfriend",she grabbing my hand.
Butterfly's flew though my stomach, "Uh-Wh-I- um.....oh",I rambled.
She giggled, "Are you okay?".
"Yeah of course, I'm perfectly fine".
She smiled up at me and continued walking.
My heart was racing at he fact that her hand was locked with mine.
There's nothing in the world i'd rather do than kiss and tell her how I feel.
But I knew I wouldn't...... But what if I did?
What if I just went for it?
I stopped dead in my tracks causing her to stop too.
She chuckled at my actions.
I was gonna do it, I was finally ready.
I used the advantage of our hands being interlocked to pull her closer to me.
She looked up at me in confusion.
"Matt what are you doing?".
Here it goes, "Jaiden I-", but before I could get anything else out Ashton's voice came from a distance.
He was driving his dirt jeep.
He stopped next to Jaiden and I.
"Mary told me to come get you two because the suns setting",he said.
Jaiden nodded and climbed in the backseat.
I followed behind her filed with disappointment.
I was really going to do it, I had so much confidence in that moment. I'm not sure if I'll get another chance at that confidence.
