I picked up Leslie and began driving to the party.
"So what are la parities like?",Leslie questioned.
"Crowed",I simply answered.
We pulled up to the house the party was at and sure enough there was hundreds of cars lined down the block.
"Let's go",I smiled climbing out of the car.
We walked up into the house together, the smell of liquor and marijuana filled the air.
"Hey, Matt you made it",one of my friends said.
"Why wouldn't I",I laughed.
"Well I mean Jaiden showed up 15 minutes ago and you weren't with her so I figured you weren't coming",he stated.
She's here!
"Oh well here I am",I laughed awkwardly before grabbing Leslie's hand and pulling her away.
"Where are we going?",Leslie laughed.
To go find the love of my life.
"We need drinks",I lied.
I scanned the room carefully as I walked through looking for Jaiden.
Suddenly I spotted her long brown hair.
I didn't want to just walk up to her since we are in a fight, so I went to plan B.
I ran right into her on 'accident'.
"Oh, I'm so sorry I didn't....... Jaiden! Hey I didn't know you were here",I acted as if this is the first time she's crossed my mind all day although that was far from true.
"Uh I'm going to go get us drinks",leslie told me obviously feeling impatient with me stopping.
"Who was that?"Jaiden questioned.
"Uh, her. Oh that's ... Uh my girlfriend, Leslie".
"Matt! I'm so happy for you, she's so pretty",Jaiden said shaking my shoulder.
My heart sunk, I mean what was I thinking?Did I honestly think that she would get jealous?
"Thanks",I spoke quietly.
"Well I'm going to go find Derek, I'll see you later",she said giving me a light hug before turning around and pushing her way through the crowd.
I sighed before making my way through the drunk people to the kitchen to find Leslie.
She wasn't in there.
I checked the living room and she wasn't in there either.
I threw myself down on the couch not really caring if I find her or not.
She probably off hooking up with some guy.
I sat on the couch for a good hour or so. Every so often one of my friends would stop and talk for a while but I still felt so lonely.
Jaiden and I are known as the people who you always see together at parties, we're also the life of the party when we're together.
I don't even know how many people have stopped and asked me where Jaiden is.
I decided to go into the back yard.
There was still a lot of people back here but not nearly as much.
I took in the fresh air that wasn't intoxicated with smoky products like the inside of the house was filed with.
I suddenly felt someone grab my shoulder causing me to jump from the unexpected touch.
I turned around to see Jaiden, "Haha I scared you",she slurred.
I laughed lightly at the drunk mess in front of me. Her makeup was smeared around her eyes.
"Have you been crying?",I asked her worriedly.
She sat down in the grass poutingly, "Derek dumped me".
I immediately got angry.
"Where is he?",I asked ready to go find him and do lord knows what.
She shrugged, "I don't know, and I don't care".
I sighed calming myself and sitting down against fence that traced the back yard.
"Where's Layna?",Jaiden asked me.
"Do you mean Leslie?",I laughed.
She nodded.
"I don't know",I shrugged.
She looked over at me and smiled causing me to smile even bigger back.
I hate all these feelings that I have stored up inside of me. I hate that I am too scared to tell Jaiden how I feel.
I'm sick of being afraid.
"Hey Jaiden".
She looked at questionably.
"I love you",I finally admitted.
"I love you too",she slurred.
I sighed, "No Jaiden, more than a friend".
She tilted her head, "Really?".
I nodded hesitantly.
She sat there as if she was confused by something.
"You're too good for me",she suddenly said.
I looked over at her, "Why would you even say something like that?".
"Because it's true, any girl would be lucky to have you. You deserve so much happiness and I know that I can't give that to you",she said looking at the grass.
I couldn't believe that I was having this conversation with Jaiden, the same girl who has taken over my thoughts for several years now.
"But you are my happiness, you're the person that I go to when I'm upset. You are the only person in this world that I want to be with, I can",I started to tell her before I was interrupted by her lips on mine.
It was only a small 2 second kiss but I was more than satisfied with it.
"I love you too Matthew".
