"So you're going through relationship problems too?" Rick asked as we began driving down the road.
"Yeah." I replied.
"Relationships suck." He replied.
"Isn't this illegal?" I asked.
"What?" He asked.
"Having someone with you in your cruiser that isn't getting arrested." I replied.
"Probably, but at this point, I don't care." He replied.
"Did she cheat?" I asked.
"Yeah. I had a feeling she was, but I didn't want it to be true." He answered.
"I know the feeling." I replied.
"So, how's your ribs or whatever?" He asked.
"Better." I replied.
-
"How'd you get here? Did you drive?" Maggie asked as I walked into her hospital room.
"Rick brought me." I answered.
"Oh." She replied as a smirk played on her lips.
"He came to the funeral." I replied.
"Get on that!" She exclaimed.
"Maggie!" I hissed.
"Sorry. I'm all cooped up in here and I want out." She replied.
"That's understandable." I replied.
"I wish I could've went to the funeral," She mumbled, her mood changing.
"I didn't even stay. I left ten minutes after it started. I couldn't do it." I replied.
"Yeah." She muttered.
A few seconds later we heard sobs from the hall.
I stood up and walked over to the door before peeking outside.
I found Rick and Lori hugging and she was bawling her eyes out.
I quickly closed the door and walked back over to Maggie's bed.
"The doctor said I can come home Friday." Maggie replied.
"Really? That's great." I replied.
"Only two more days in this place." She added with a smile.
"Yeah." I mumbled.
"Did you love Blake?" She asked.
"Is it weird that I don't know?" I inquired.
"That means you didn't." She replied.
-
"Hey."
I looked up, finding the police officer that was with Rick the other day.
"Hi." I replied.
"Rick told me he brought you here, and I think he's staying the night. Do you need a ride home?" He asked.
"I can call my brother." I replied.
"It's no big deal. I don't even pay for the gasoline." He replied.
"That's okay." I continued as I pulled my phone out.
"I know the best place to get a burger." He added.
I looked at him, watching as he smiled.
"I don't even know your name. Wouldn't it be weird if I went to a burger joint with a police officer in his cruiser?" I asked.
"Shane Walsh. I'm not on duty, and how'd you know it was a burger joint?" He inquired.
"I guess we're thinking of the same place." I replied.
"Are you coming or what?" He asked.
"Have one for me, please." Maggie added.
"Okay." I replied.
Shane smiled and held the door open for me as I walked out of Maggie's room.
-
"So what do you do?" Shane asked.
"I'm a veterinarian. I work at my father's office." I answered.
"Wow. I pegged you for a cosmetologist." He replied.
"Nope." I laughed.
"This is where you ask me what I do," He joked.
"I'm guessing your a police officer, I'm not sure though." I teased.
"How'd you know?" He asked.
"I got vibes." I replied.
He laughed and stole one of my fries.
"How's your sister?" He interrogated.
"She gets to come home Friday." I answered.
"That's good." He replied.
I nodded and took another bite of my cheeseburger.
"I know Shawn- your brother. We went to school together." He stated.
"Really?" I asked.
"Yeah." He replied.
"How long have you been a police officer?" I inquired.
"Four years." He answered.
"That's cool." I mumbled.
I pulled my phone out of my pocket and flipped it open so the annoying ring would stop.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Did you finish the deal?" Jake, a friend, asked.
"What deal?" I inquired, playing dumb as I stood up from the booth.
"Excuse me," I mumbled to Shane as I walked toward the bathrooms.
"You know what deal. Do you have the drugs or not? Merle is going to be pissed. He'll kill you if you don't hold your end of the deal." Jake hissed.
"I told you, I'm not doing this anymore." I replied.
"You're stupid if you think he's letting you off easy." He replied.
"Fine. Pick me up." I ordered.
"Where are you?" He asked.
After telling him, I hung up and walked back to the booth.
"Sorry, that was my friend." I told Shane as I sat down in front of him.
"That's fine." He replied.
"Thanks for the ride, but my friend is on his way to pick me up. He's having girl trouble." I lied.
"No problem. It was nice to meet you, by the way." He stated.
"You too. We should hang out some time." I replied.
"Yeah." He replied with a smile.
He threw his trash away before walking outside to his cruiser.
I sighed and threw my trash away and walked outside to wait on Jake.
My nerves were horrible and I felt myself starting to shake.
A few seconds later, Jake's truck pulled up in front of me.
I opened the passenger door and climbed in.
I scrunched my nose up, finding that Jake reeked of weed and alcohol.
"Get out. I'm driving." I ordered.
"Why?" He asked.
"I'm not getting into another car accident, and we aren't getting pulled over." I replied.
He rolled his eyes before getting out and walking over to the passenger side.
I climbed over to the drivers side before putting the truck in gear.
"I only had a couple of beers and a joint." He stated.
"You're hilarious." I replied, sarcastically.
I began driving down the highway before taking a left down a back road.
"Merle is so pissed, you're going to get your ass beat." He stated.
"He can try." I replied.
"Where's the drugs?" He asked.
"Here." I answered, pulling into an old laundry mat.
"I heard your boyfriend was cheating on you." He stated.
"Yeah, I don't care." I replied, walking inside the rundown place.
I walked to the back of the building and pulled the ziplock bag out of the old dryer.
"You're so stupid. Anyone could've came in here and found it." Jake stated.
"But they didn't." I replied.
We walked back to the truck and I began driving to our meet up place.
-
I got out of the truck and followed Jake into the old building.
I found Merle sitting on the dusty couch and I threw the ziplock bag at him.
"Bout time." He snapped.
"I told you I'm not doing this shit anymore." I spat as I pulled my leather jacket off.
"Why? Afraid daddy's gonna find out his little perfect princess is dealin' drugs?" He asked.
"Because I'm tired of this. I'm tired of almost getting caught and having my life ruined." I replied.
"Whatever, but you have a choice to make. Keep dealin' or die, sugar tits." He replied.
I rolled my eyes and leaned against the wall.
I glanced over to his brother, Daryl who was smoking a cigarette near the window.
His lips turned into a smirk and I looked back to Merle.
"I'm friends with cops now, so I suggest you back off." I snapped.
"Oh, holy hell. Is that a threat?" Merle asked.
"Take it how you want it." I replied.
He stood up and cornered me against the wall before blowing smoke in my face.
"We know way more shit about you than you think. If ya get us in trouble, you're going to get in just as much trouble if not worse." He whispered.
"Then let me go and I won't say anything." I replied.
He started laughing and backed away before reaching in a bag and throwing a wad of cash at me.
"Ya couldn't stop if ya wanted." He replied and smirked before sitting back down on the couch.
I grabbed my jacket and looked to Daryl before walking to the door.

"Heard ya broke up with your boyfriend." Merle called out.
"Danielle, just let loose and have a beer." Jake persuaded.
"Heard he was cheating." Merle continued.
Daryl handed a beer to me and I hesitated before taking it from his hand.
"It's funny, because ya were doin' the same thing." Merle added.
I rolled my eyes and opened the beer before taking a sip.
"I wasn't cheating. We had a fight, we broke up, I got with someone else, and then me and Blake worked things out and got back together." I replied.
"We also heard about yer baby sister," Merle stated as he walked over to me again.
I looked down at his hand, finding a syringe.
"Think of it as an apology." He replied, smirking.
"I don't do this shit." I replied.
"If you won't, I will." Jake replied.
I handed him the syringe before sitting on the arm rest of the couch.
I continued drinking my beer before we heard sirens.
Merle quickly began hiding his shit under the floor boards and I headed for the basement.
Daryl pushed the door open and we all ran down the stairs.
I pushed a table over in front of the window before stepping up and opening the window to crawl out.
Once I was out, Daryl crawled out after me, then Jake, and then Merle.
Once we began running through the woods to get to Daryl's truck.
I parked Jake's truck where it wouldn't be visible when we arrived, but if the police looked, they'd be able to find it easily.
"Who'd ye fücking tell?" Merle hissed as he shoved me against the tree.
"I didn't tell anyone. Why would I do that and ruin my reputation?" I asked, pushing him off of me.
"She wouldn't risk it, Merle." Jake replied.
Suddenly the police cruiser continued driving down the road, and we were just being paranoid.
