Episode 9

You opened your eyes to find yourself back in the pitch black landscape of the bizarre dream you'd had about Kylo Ren crying. Fog surrounded your feet, spinning and pulsating, almost as if it had a mind of its own. You turned around at the feeling of hot breath in your hair to see Kylo Ren standing directly behind you without his mask on.He seemed to not even notice you, as his deep, soulful, brown eyes were staring off into the distance behind you intently.

(Y/n), he needs you.

The sound of the kind voice that had tormented you in your last dream filled you with rage.

"Why are you tormenting me with these visions?" You asked in a barely contained rage, digging your fingernails into your palm as you clenched your fists.

He needs your help.

"WHO ARE YOU?" You screamed out, as a tear rolled down the stoic face of the man who'd once loved you.

Save him.

"From what?" You yelled, more sad than furious now, seeing Kylo Ren crying in front of you.

You'll see.

Kylo suddenly began gasping for air, clawing at his neck. He was raised at least ten feet off of the hazy ground before he plummeted into the thin layer of fog at your feet and disappeared. A  scarred face flashed in your vision for a moment before the fog retreated into the depths of the obsidian black nothingness. You hadn't gotten enough time to recognize the face, but you assumed that it must've been Kylo, so why the scar? You yelled out in frustration and fear, being jerked forward without warning, then everything went dark once more.

***

You awoke to even more confusing voices.

If you'd managed to keep your prisoner in check, Kylo Ren never would've needed to be involved.

The voice was in your head, powerful and resonating, just like the voice from your dream, but this voice sounded cold and cruel, as if it the speaker was capable of obliterating everyone and everything in their path to et what they desired.

"I am deeply sorry, Supreme Leader. Is there anything I can do to make up for my mistake?"

You recognized that annoying voice as General Hux. As much as you wanted to get up and punch him in the face, you decided to remain still, with your eyes closed. You didn't want to run into a trap, or disturb the conversation.

We must keep her from him at any price. If he comes into contact with her, it could cost is this entire war. You have seen just how powerful she is.

You heard Hux swallow hard and could feel his fear radiating off of him.

"If I may ask, Supreme Leader, why must they be kept apart? What would she do that could cost is the war? We-"

Hux's questioning was cut off by him suddenly gagging. You could hear his feet dragging along the floor as, you assumed, this 'Supreme Leader' was using the force to pull Hux closer to him.

You may not ask. Do as I say, or you will be made to regret it.

You felt Hux's body slam to the ground near where you were pretending to be unconscious. He gasped for air, his breath shaking.

As for you, girl, I'd suggest that you do whatever we ask, and not eavesdrop again, or you will receive harsher punishment than this General ever will. We will not tolerate any incompetence from you.

Now, General, remove her from my sight.

You were once again engulfed in the cold, comforting darkness of not being awake.

***

When you awoke this time, you were wrapped in silky sheets on an enormous bed. You sat up quickly to find yourself in a metal room, obviously on a ship, that was furnished lavishly in the colors red and black. The suave, cold room was dimly lit, and you appeared to be alone. Slowly slipping out from under the sheets, you nearly choked as you saw what you were wearing.

Much to your shock, you found that you were wearing a coat that looked somewhere between Hux's jacket and Kylo's robes. You hated how pristinely evil is looked. You looked around for your cloak, to your annoyance, not finding it. You got up and walked over to the large door across from the bed and, just as you were about to open it, you heard a familiar, annoying voice call out.

"It's locked with a force proof seal, developed so that when a certain Knight of Ren is pissed, he can't kill me whilst I sleep."

"General Hux. It's lovely to see you again. How are your bruises?" You asked sarcastically.

"Don't flatter yourself; you didn't leave a scratch."

You turned to find him standing a few feet behind you.

"Don't think I can't see past your lie, imbecile. I know exactly how you're feeling. I am disappointed, though, I was really hoping that you'd break a limb," you replied coldly.

Hux laughed. "You really do remind me of him, you know."

"Kylo?" You asked simply, tying your best to keep an unreadable face.

The General nodded. "I know you heard when the Supreme Leader told me that I can't know how you and Kylo Ren are connected, but..."

"No, half-wit, I'm not going to tell you. You don't deserve to know," you practically spat the words at him. You didn't want to end up crying in front of such an awful person.

"Fair enough," Hux responded reasonably, but his gaze was full of venom. "I've been told to keep you locked in my room, the one place that Kylo Ren cannot reach. You are to do everything I say, and act as my maid or slave if anyone is to see you. You are only allowed out of the room if you are by my side and your face is covered, so here," Hux explained, handing you a mask that would cover your nose down, and your cape.

You quickly flung the cape around your shoulders before realizing that the silver lining had been darkened to an obsidian steel color, and it had been cut to fit to the back of your new jacket, so that it only draped behind you as you walked. Seeing you seethe with anger, Hux quickly noted, "Snoke ordered the fabric to be dyed, so that Kylo Ren wouldn't recognize it, and for it to be cut, to make it easier for you to move quickly."

Brushing it off with a sigh, you looked down at it again. At least you had it, and the silver fabric was the only one that had been altered. Pulling your hair back, you put on the half mask. The mechanisms sealed themselves around your jaw, constricting your breathing for a moment. You heard a hiss of air and smelled metal. The mask didn't make loud noises as you breathed, like you'd expected it to.

You pulled the hood up, and walked over to a mirror that hung on the wall. You were surprised to see that you actually looked pretty badass with the mask on. Your (e/c) eyes glimmered against the black of your clothes.

"I have a meeting to attend, so if you're content, I will let your rest," Hux said, turning to leave.

"Wait," you said sternly. Your altered voice shocked both you and Hux. It made it sound slightly deeper and more authoritative. It added a gravely quality, and it sounded nothing like your normal voice.

"What?" Hux asked, annoyedly.

"Take me with you. If I'm going to be trapped here, I might as well get used to the layout of the place," you said.

Pondering your request for a moment, Hux sighed.

"Fine, but you cannot speak. Kylo Ren most likely won't be at the meeting, but you still must pretend to be my maid, so treat me and anyone else with the respect that a maid would give to people," Hux said.

"If I'm dressed like this, will people really assume that I'm just your maid?" You asked, your attitude noticeable through the mask.

"Then be my body guard, or even a slave, but do not speak unless spoken to, and for force's sake, do not use the force."

You nodded at the request, before following Hux out of the door. You wanted to escape, but something at the back of your mind was telling you to stay. You felt that you were going to be needed here.
