Anger & 1 Month To Go

"How about this?" Elliot held up a pink onesie, it was old and belonged to Olivia when she was a baby.

For days Olivia couldn't feel anything but annoyance, frustration and distressed. The three feelings together created complete disaster for anyone that was close to her and Elliot dealt with it every minute.

She frowned and rolled her eyes. "Don't be stupid, Elliot. It's so old and dusty."

"We could always wash it like five times." He replied jokingly.

Olivia sighed and ran a hand through her hair, although she got a more than enough sleep she still looked exhausted.

"Who do you think Celeste's Godparents should be?" He asked, putting the pink onesie back.

She shrugged. "I haven't thought about it."

"How about Noelle?"

Olivia nodded. "Sure."

Elliot didn't reply once he saw the look on her face, he bite down on his bottom lip. "Did Odette give you the baby carrier yet?"

"Yes."

"We need to start designating chores for one another so it is easier for us." He added as he continued to look through the box of old clothing.

"Would you stop looking in that box, the dust is getting everywhere." She demanded, sitting on the edge of their bed.

"Yes master." Elliot listened and closed the box, trying his best to keep his cool.

She rolled her eyes.

"Anyway, we also need to make sure Celeste gets regular check ups." He made his way to the couch and sat down.

"Aren't you studying to be a paediatrician? Shouldn't you know what's up when it comes to children?" She asked in a rather rude tone.

He shook his head. "Just because I'm studying to become a paediatrician doesn't mean I know everything about that field yet."

She scoffed.

"I want my baby girl to get the best check ups." He smiled, clearly excited. "I know I'm thinking far ahead but we should enrol Celeste in schools where they teach everything in a different language like French! It would be really good for her and we should also let her play sports or dance so she's really active. Also I'm sure she would have fun learning how to play instruments, maybe even the-"

"Elliot! Would you stop." She bursted in utter annoyance.

His eyes grew large at her loud voice. It's a good thing that no one else was home but them.

"You're not even her father and you don't get a say in anything, Elliot. You don't suddenly insert yourself into her life." She snapped as she glowered at him.

His eyes were fixated on her, hurt building up in his body.

"That wasn't apart of the plan. You were only supposed to help me lie not help me raise my child."

Elliot let out a low scoff and stood up. "Olivia, we've been best friends since we were kids. If this dumb baby plan never existed I would still help you raise Celeste." He answered. "So don't let this lie make you think otherwise."

Olivia remained seated with the same hard expression on her face but she was looking away. "Just don't get carried away, it won't be good in the long run." She told him lowly.

"I am not getting carried away, Olivia. I am doing what I'm supposed to do as your best friend, it's you who's getting carried away." He told her, never wanting that to happen.

"I want you out of my life after we tell them the truth." She shouted. "We can never go back to the way we were."

He shook his head in disbelief. "Do you hear yourself?"

She stared expressionless at him.

He stared at her in sadness and then walked towards the doorway but stopped and turned his head to the side. "Don't stay mad because it will be bad for Celeste and call Noelle to stay with you because I don't know what time I'll be back." And with that he left, racing down the stairs and closing the door loudly behind him as he left the house.

Olivia suddenly felt her eyes fill up with tears but she quickly wiped them away, not feeling any regret for what she had said. It was better for them, they shouldn't get carried away.
