Chapter 5
Tris' POV
After the doctors appointment Tobias and I had to go to Amity for a meeting so we are on our way to the tree dome right now. Since we were already on the trains and had Teigon with us we decided to just bring him with us. He's asleep again anyways. I'm a little worried though, my dad is going to be there.
Tobias grabs my hand that isn't holding Teigon and starts rubbing circles with his thumb, soothing me the slightest bit.
"You'll be fine, I promise. I will make sure both you and Teigon are safe." he says.
"ok." I squeak out.
"Hey, I love you." I look at Tobias and smile when he says that.
"I love you too."
We look back in front of us and walk into the building.
When we walk in all of the factions leaders and reps are already there. Great, we're late and have all the attention on us.
"Sorry we're late, we jut got here from a doctors appointment in Erudite." Tobias says and everyone nods in understanding.
I look around the room as I sit down and find Caleb sitting with Cara a little closer then last time I saw the two of them in the same room. But when I lock eyes with the person across from me my eyes go cold.
"Father."
"Beatrice."
I glare at him for using Beatrice and the meeting begins.

The meeting finally ends. Finally being the key word. All we talked about was the food that will be shipped to the factions for an hour straight. Now we are all just talking around the room. I'm with Tobias and we put Teigon into a crib that an Amity brought in for us while he sleeps, which he still is.
"Tris, look behind you." Tobias says and I turn around.
When I do I lock eyes with him. I feel Tobias put his arm around me protectively as my father comes to a stop an arms length away from me.
"Beatrice, I think we need to talk." he says and I somewhat nod.
"I just wanted to say that I'-" he gets cut off by a high pitched scream followed by load footsteps getting fainter.
I immediately look at Teigon, out of instinct, and find a horrible sight. Tobias and I run over to Teigon's crib, me crying and Tobias in shock but still able to move.
"Teigon!" I yell and start crying more.
We can't pick him up because that could make everything worse, but we can't just let him bleed out. I rip a piece of my shirt off and Tobias holds him still but still comforts him. I tie the fabric around his knee tightly and start yelling again.
"Someone please call an Erudite ambulance, and fast!"
I see Caleb quickly shuffle into his pocket and grab something, pressing a button which I'm guessing is what will call the ambulance.
Just about everyone is standing and staring in shock. But what surprises me is my Dad running over and applying more pressure to Teigons knee, allowing me to help comfort him and calm him down with Tobias.
"Hey everything will be okay. I promise." i say and kiss Teigons hand. I go to wipe his tears but when i feel his hot, dry, face I remember that he isn't able to produce tears.
"Tris." someone says and I turn to find the paramedics walking in. They are in there blue unifroms and have a gurney for Teigon.
They rush over and quickly but carefully lift Teigon out of the crib and set him onto the gurney, wrapping his leg in gauze and giving him a shot which i'm guessing put him to sleep because he stopped wailing.
They leave with Teigon on the gurney but before they leave I hear one say very faintly, "Stab wound to the shin of an infant. Will need immediate amputation." into a walkie talkie and that's when I fully break down.
I start crying and sink to my knees. I feel someone wrap their arms around me and kneel down next to me. I look up to see Tobias with tears in his eyes, but i can tell he's trying hard to keep them in. I let out anther sob and bury my head into Tobias' chest.
"What if he doesn't make it. And if he does how will he learn to walk." I cry out.
"He will make it. And he will figure out a way to walk, don't worry about that." Tobias says and nod a little, but keep crying silently into his chest.
I feel another hand on my back and turn to see my dad, with blood on one of his hands and some on his pants.
"I'm so sorry for everything Beatrice. Not just for Teigon but for getting mad about you for being pregnant and for hitting you. The guilt was going to consume me if I didn't get that out." he says softly.
"I...I..I forgive you."
He smiles and weak smile and side hugs me because I don't want to let go of Tobias. Caleb comes over and kneels down with us, adding to the somewhat group hug. One by one, more and more add on to the group hug. Johanna, Cara, some abnegation and amity representatives, all the girls from the other factions, amity that had came into the room. It became one big group hug with all the men besides amity's standing outside the circle with there heads bowed down a little. The only sound in the room is my sniffling. I feel something land on my head and look up.
Tobias let one tear go. I reach up and wipe the tear with my hand, kissing his cheek lightly and slowly getting up, getting out of everyone grasp.
"Thank you for the comfort, but I really want to wait in the hospital for Teigon." I say quietly and everyone gets up quietly.
Tobias grabs my hand and we silently walk out of the conference room to find a ton of Amity watching us silently. The conference room was practically made of windows.
They split a path for us and we make our way out of amity and catch a train.
Eventually, after a silent train ride with us just hugging the whole time, we jump off and make our way to the hospital.
When we walk into the building the erudite slowly grow silent and look at us. They must also know about this. And I bet my tear stained face is just another clue that it happened.
We just silently make our way to the waiting room and sit down, never breaking our grasped hands. We will just have to anxiously wait.
But what worries me the most is the fact that Teigon is only about a week old. Who would even have the heart to do this. Especially in amity.

So... yay? It's a chapter at least. I actually had fun writing this chapter because I didn't plan it like this so it was fun to make some stuff up as i wrote. Anyways, please like and comment as you please. Love you initiates!
