Chapter 6
Tris' POV
After a few minutes of sitting in the waiting room, I hear a loud burst comes from the entrance. I look over and find Christina running in with tear stains.
"Tris..." she says and cries.
"What's wrong?" i ask and quickly stand up.
"Well at first i was crying because of Teigon but then..then.."
"What?"
"Then on the way in we...we found Will."
Oh my gosh.
"Where is he..." I say barely a whisper.
She points to the entrance. Leaving Christina and Tobias just sitting there, I push open the door slowly and once it's open all the way, I see him. Will.
I can't help it. I let out a sob.
"Oh my gosh Tris, I'm so sorry..." He says before I hug him.
"Why'd you leave?!" I ask and keep crying into his shoulder while he rubs my back a little. I just now noticed that he's wearing erudite blue.
"I'm sorry. I just couldn't handle the fact that Christina was having Uriah's baby. I've been staying at my sister's apartment and made her swear not to tell anyone."
I just nod and pull away, wiping my tears. I don't feel like being mad right now.
"So, i'm guessing you know about Teigon, right?" I ask Will.
He shakes his head no. "Who's Teigon?"
"He's Four and I's son. He was born about a week ago and.....um..." I say and my lip starts to tremble. (shush up with that song, this is sad people)
"And he was stabbed in the leg during a meeting in Amity." I let a few tears slip.
"In, amity? It couldn't have been an Amity, they're too nice. But who would have the heart or guts to do that..." Will drifts off into thought until we hear something in the waiting room.
I quickly rush in and find Tobias standing with his hands on his neck and a broken lamp in front of him. He looks like a mess compared to earlier.
I quickly run over to him and grab his face, making him look me in the eyes. His face is slippery from the tears that he finally let out and his eyes are watering and vulnerable. Within seconds of him looking into my eyes he goes slack against me.
His arms wrap around me tightly but he's still leaning on me for support. I can feel his silent sobs wrack his body. His tears soaking through the shoulder of my shirt. This is the most vulnerable I have ever seen him.
I slowly lead him over to the chairs and sit us down, still hugging him. He keeps crying into my shoulder but is no longer sobbing.
I look over to the side and Will is looking at us. He almost looks surprised that Tobias is crying, like he doesn't have a soft side.
I rub his back a little and eventually he calms down enough and is just taking deep breaths.
"It's okay. He will be fine, erudite will take care of Teigon." I whisper.
"Sorry, I don't mean to be such a mess." He whispers and I pull back, putting my forehead against his.
"It's okay to cry. It just means your human."
He shakes his head and lets another tear slip, his lips in a straight line. He honestly looks like he could break at any moment. Shattered in pieces like the vase a few feet away from us.
"I promised. I promised." he whispers and let's a couple more tears slip.
"what."
"I promised to protect you and Teigon. And I failed. I failed you, I failed Teigon, and I failed myself."

Sorry it took a little while to update this chapter. I was in lake Powell and had no service and I had a hard time writing it. I knew what I wanted to put but I just had a hard time putting my thoughts into words. But I got it done! So please like and comment as you please! Love you initiates!
