Chapter 8
Tobias' POV
When I wake up I look at the clock and it's 4:40. I don't know how or why I woke up this early but I can't seam to go back to sleep. Tris is snuggled up to my chest but still on her pillow so I get off the bed carefully, making sure I don't wake her.
I put on my jeans and zip up my jacket since I don't have a shirt at this moment. I put my shoes on and quietly make my way to the apartment door. Maybe a walk will help me relax and go back to sleep. I could also think about everything that's going on in silence.
I open the door and walk out, shutting the door behind me quietly. I walk out of the compound, getting stares from noses that get to work early or stay late. But I don't care, I need a nice walk with fresh morning air.
I start walking around the compound just pondering. Will Teigon have to get a bigger leg the more he grows, or will erudite have a special prosthetic leg that doesn't have to be changed. How will he learn how to walk when he doesn't have two normal legs. Will he hate me in the future for letting that happen to him. In amity! And last of all, will he be alright.
All the thoughts run through my head and I start to get overwhelmed. I can't think straight. Maybe it's the time, or maybe I'm just sick of erudite, who knows. All I know is that I should get back to tris before she wakes up or something.
I walk back into the compound and look around for the first time. I've been in here before but I never really took everything in. There's no longer the big portrait of Jeanine on the wall. It's now a blank wall with a slight outline of where the portrait was. It also isn't as clean as you would think. Paper is everywhere and laptops and books are cluttered in any place you could think of. It almost makes me feel claustrophobic. All the clutter and people everywhere isn't great.
I make my way to Calebs apartment as fast as possible and go to the room tris and I are staying in as soon as possible. I get onto the bed quietly and don't bother to take off anything. I don't even get under the covers. I lay on my back until I eventually drift back to sleep.

Tris wakes me up about 4 hours later with a kiss on the lips, pulling away when I kiss back.
"Hey tris." I say quietly and smile a little.
"Hey." She says and unintentionally bites her lip while smiling.
"Why do you have your shoes and clothes on?"
"Last night I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep so I went on a walk to clear my mind. When I got back I was to tired to bother taking my clothes off." I say and shrug.
She nods and takes off my shirt that she was wearing and gives it to me, putting on her clothes while I put my shirt back on.
"We need to get a good breakfast so we don't get too hungry while at the hospital. There food sucks." She says and puts her hair up into a ponytail.
"Alright, is Caleb still sleeping?"
"No, he went to work and Quin left. Said that the cafeteria is free to anyone in the morning so we can do that then go to the hospital."
"Okay. Hey tris?"
"Yes Tobias."
"I love you." I grin a little and she looks at me with a small smile.
"I love you too. Now let's get going!" I get up and we walk down to the cafeteria hand-in-hand.
Erudite's whisper to eachother when they see us or just give eachother weird stares.
As quickly as we got there, we got and ate our food and left to the hospital which was only a few minutes away.
We walk up to the counter to the erudite nurse.
"Hello, how may I help you?" She says and fake smiles.
"When will Teigon Eaton be out of surgery?" I ask and she starts typing on her computer.
"He will be out in 2-3 hours. In the meantime you can sit in the waiting room or wonder the compound. Either way is fine." She says and we nod, walking away to sit down in the waiting room chairs.
"She was a bit...fake." Tris says and I laugh a little.
"Yeah she was."

"Teigon?" A doctor says from the front and tris and I get up right away.
"Come right this way."
We follow the doctor to teigons room and he stops right at the door, motioning us to go in.
I look at tris and take a deep breathe. She looks at me with hope and breaks eye contact to open the door.
When we walk in we find Teigon in the baby bed with an IV in his arm and nothing else. Unless the IV is pain killers, I'm not sure though.
He looks healthy, maybe a little pale, but healthy. His leg is covered by a blanket so we can't see it but either way it is probably wrapped up in gauze.
"He looks so fragile." Tris whispers and tears well up in her eyes, but she holds them back and walks over to teigons side while I go to the other.
His breathes are even and it's almost like he was never stabbed at all. Like he will have a normal life. But that's not true.
"He'll be alright, I prom- I'm almost positive he will be." No promises Tobias. You can't make a promise that you can't keep.
She nods and leans down, kissing Teigon gently on the forehead. Why did this have to happen to us. Specifically us. It can't be a coincidence. A psychopath could've chosen any baby, so it has to be someone who has a grudge on us or anything like that. But the real question is who.
I don't know who it is but I will find them. And they will be sorry.

Okay. It's the middle of the night and I'm starving, tired, and bored. Plus I can't stop thinking about the allegiant trailer! My favorite part was definitely when four says "I think I've got the hang of it" to Nita. But yeah.
I have a few questions.
1: is anyone going to the Ellie goulding concert in Utah on April 13? If so I already bought my tickets!!!!
2: any ideas for this book?
