Stef
Brandon and Callie's eyes both followed her nervously as she entered the room. They looked at each other for a second but they were able to communicate so well. Like they were saying 'oh no, here we go'
Stef turned around to face them realising they hadn't moved yet.
"Will you both sit down please." Stef sighed as she gestured them to the couch, in which they were basically just making out on.
Callie and Brandon both sat together but not close. Stef's slim blonde figure towered over the two of them belittling them in some attempt of truth.
"I just- I need to know what this is." She nodded.
Callie looked to Brandon as her mouth fell open slightly as she thought of what to say.
"What do you mean?" Brandon tried to smile but failed.
"What you two are."
Brandon swallowed nervously. "We're brother and sister."
Stef nearly laughed. "You know I always just thought that with you getting adopted that... that something would change."
Stef sat down on the seat across from the two.
"That you would change. Safer? Yes, happier? I'm not too sure."
Callie swallowed hard as she could feel her insides churn at the feeling that Stef was reading her like a book. She basically was.
"Are you happier, Callie?"
"I...i thought I would be. To be perfectly honest...no."
Brandon turned to her like he was telling her to stay quiet. But then a sudden realisation flashed into his mind as the previous events of that night was just the end of their brother sister relationship. That included the family.
Stef looked at the two of them as she ran her tongue along her bottom lip in slight annoyance.
"So what do you want to do?
Callie looked down at her hands as they intertwined in a clammy mass of fingers.
Stef continued, "you can either come home with me and we can forget about this, all of this, and we can be a family again or...you can-"
"You will be my family granted of what I chose." Callie interrupted.
Stef looked up at her a little taken by her words.
"You will always be my mothers, no matter what. Mariana will always be my sister. And Jesus is as much as my brother as Jude is. But-"
"But Brandon is different." Stef interrupted.
Callie nodded so gently you could've mistaken it for simply adjusting her head.
Stef nodded back realising what Callie said was true.
"I believe you." Stef spoke gently.
Callie could feel the tears begin to pool in her eyes as she could see the sad look on Stefs face.
"I'm sorry." She broke softly.
Stef looked at her sadly, the situation had ruined Callie, she saw that. And it hurt her. Something came over and she suddenly became this accepting supporting motherly figure.
"When I was younger I had this friend, we were very close me and her" Stef smiled softly. "But when I got older and I realised what I was, who I was we slowly fell apart. My dad never accepted who I was and because of that we grew apart." She paused and her eyes were planted on the ground, then she looked up at the two teens sitting in front of her. Her eyes seemed sad and teary. "The truth is...you can't help who you fall in love with. And I don't want to loose you, both of you because of this."
She looked to Brandon, she had already lost him in some way. Moving out had impacted her immensely, loosing him forever would break her.
"Seeing you together, realising what you went through, it's made me realise that you being happy is all that matters, no matter where you are."
Brandon smiled gently at his mother then looked over to Callie.
Callie smiled with tears.
They were all pulled into this understanding moment where it was like a huge weight was lifted from them. Stef, Callie and Brandon all felt more connected then ever before.
Brandon smiled again gently then stood up from the couch and stepped towards his mother. He wrapped his arms around her and she sat in almost shock.
He closed his eyes. "I love you mom."
Stef swallowed then she too closed her eyes embracing her son.
They both held each other for a moment as Callie watched on and smiled softly.
Stef opened her eyes and saw Callie sitting alone.
She smiled and gave her a look.
Callie wandered over to them and wrapped her arms around Stef snd Brandon.
The three of them just hugged in mass of holding arms and teary eyes and everything that was bad seemed better.
