Feelings
Callie sat alone on one of the stools at Brandon's kitchen bench spinning herself around amusingly. Brandon had to go to the post office and send out yet another package to Courtney. Turns out she left more than she had thought. Brandon had asked Callie if he wanted to go with him but she said she was fine. So he said goodbye then left.
Callie spun around in the seat slowly when the door handle clicked and the door opened.
"Hey." He said slowly as he held a big paper bag in his hands. "I thought you went home?"
Callie grinned then looked down. "You thought wrong."
"Oh" he nodded then kicked the door shut with his heel.
Callie looked at him and nodded. "If you want me to go that's fine."
"No, no." He shook his head as he placed the paper bag down on the table. "You can stay, it's cool."
Callie smiled gently then did another 360 degree twist in the chair.
"So how much stuff did Courtney really leave behind?" She smiled as she looked up to the roof turning yet another full circle.
Brandon smiled gently then backed up against the sink. "More than I thought."
Callie looked at him closely noticing his details. He looked different. He had looked different lately, but nothing like this. His hair was messy and curling up behind his ears, his shoulders were broader and his style had changed drastically from coloured flannelettes to dark band shirts.
"What?" Brandon asked noticing her glare.
Callie shot out of her observation and looked up to him like she was waiting for him to answer.
Brandon raised his eyebrows waiting for her to answer.
"Oh, nothing."
"Okay." He replied in a strangely random enthusiastic way as he pushed himself from the sink and over to the bag. "I went to the shop and bought some stuff."
Callie laughed slowly. "Wow. How did you pay for that?"
Brandon continued to look in the bag while his hand pulled something out of his pocket.
Brandon held up a credit card with one hand as he rustled through the bag with the other.
Callie's eyes widened as she read the name. Mike foster.
"Wait, you stole your dads credit card."
Brandon's eyes flicked up to hers as he stopped everything.
"No." He frowned. "It's a gift card. And he gave it to me."
Callie breathed out as she turned away.
"I bought croissants." He said as he placed a pack of four cooked croissants down in the bench. "They were on special."
Callie shook her head as a smile appeared on her face.
Brandon noticed it and smile secretively pleased that he could still make her laugh.
"Want one?"
Callie shrugged. "Sure."
"Wait, he stole from you?" Callie asked in interest as she sat on the couch with her legs dangling over the arm rest with a plate of croissant resting on her chest.
Brandon sat on the carpet leaning back against the couch just under where her feet were.
Brandon chuckled softly as he swallowed down his croissant.
"Well, he stole my idea. Prepared piano has always been a thing, it wasn't until I did it that he got the idea."
"So, it's still basically stealing?"
"Kinda, yeah." He nodded with a smile as he bit another chunk off his food.
It was almost six o'clock. The sun was setting and the day was growing darker. Callie and Brandon both sat relaxingly in his house feeding themselves baked foods as Brandon told her about Idyllwild.
Brandon shook his head slowly as if he was reminiscing. "God, that place was insane."
"But you won though." She added like she was reminding him of his efforts.
"Yeah, I did. But you know it wasn't even about the winning." Brandon smiled. "I nearly got disqualified for it, I did get kicked out at some point. Everyone at camp was just..."
"Just what?"
Brandon frowned trying to think of the right word. "Competitive, and crazy."
Callie, realising he was getting personal, shuffled herself back so that she was sitting with her legs spread across the couch.
"Then what were you?"
Brandon looked up to her from the ground and shrugged softly. "I wouldn't say I'm competitive but-"
"You are pretty crazy." Callie added.
Brandon looked at her and grinned. "Well I did jump off a cliff in Mexico once."
Callie shook her head as she let out a silent laugh. She twisted her body until her legs were on the ground next to Brandon and she was sitting on the couch the way it is requested to be sat on.
Callie looked down at her lap and she could feel her whole mood suddenly change.
"I should probably go home." She reported quietly in the silence of the room.
Brandon looked up at her instantly and could see the sadness on her face.
"Moms will get over it."
"Will they?" She replied immediately looking at him with the most desperate hurt look in her eyes.
Brandon clenched his jaw together the desperation and pain infected him too.
"Soon enough, Callie, they will move on."
Callie shook her head as she fell deep into the couch and looked at the roof.
Brandon placed his plate down on the ground next to him and then pushed himself up onto the couch next to Callie.
"Hey." He said quietly. Callie shook her head slowly but didn't respond. "Callie, hey."
"What?" She asked sounding frustrated as she suddenly sat up quickly causing their knees to crash into each other.
Callie looked at him as she could feel her eyes become teary. "What do you want me to say?"
Brandon looked at her intensely as he could feel her legs with his that caused this knotting feeling inside of him.
"What do you want me to do?" The tears in Callie's eyes doubled and her bottom lip began to quake.
Brandon looked down exiting himself from the pain in which her sadness gave him.
"What am I suppose to do?" Callie's voice broke into a cry as she could feel a tear run down her face.
Brandon looked up to her and he noticed the tear falling down her cheek. "Hey, why are you crying?" He gave a small comforting smile. "If you don't wanna go back, then don't go back."
Callie shook her head as she wiped away her tears. "Where do I have to go?"
Brandon bit down on his bottom lip and grinned softly.
"Here."
Callie looked up at him in shock as her mouth fell open in protest.
"No, it's ok I'll just-"
"Callie." Brandon interrupted. "I have a couch. And food and just about every other thing you need to survive."
Callie closed her eyes and the smallest of smiles appeared on her face.
"You can stay here tonight. Tomorrow, when everything has calmed down, then you can go home. Okay."
Callie shook her head as another tear fell down her cheek.
"God, why am I still crying." She laughed unsteadily as she wiped her eyes with her hands hard. "I hate freakin crying."
"Callie." Brandon said as he watched her fall apart as she was basically punching herself in the eyes in attempt to stop crying.
"Why am I always crying."
"Callie." He said louder then reached for one of her hands and held it in his on his knee.
Callie stopped immediately and looked down at her hand being consumed by his.
She swallowed hard as the urge to hold his back overwhelmed her power to think. She couldn't hold on, but she shouldn't let go.
Brandon stared her in the eyes.
Callie looked back at him and swallowed as she could feel his thumb gently running across her knuckles.
She stared at him more passionately as the urge to react to her feelings was present. Brandon looked at her and swallowed. He knew that look on her face, the look right before they would kiss where her eyes would glow and then she would look doe at his lips and then they were done.
Brandon's mouth opened slightly not knowing what to do or say.
Their head were barely a foot apart and declining.
Callie's heart raced as her eyes drew to his lips and her hand has spontaneously grabbed back at Brandon's.
Brandon's head tilted down as he could feel it being pulled to hers. Like they were a pair of magnets, just desperate to connect.
In no time at all their foreheads touch and the simple feeling of it sent back millions of memories.
They just sat there for a while with their foreheads touching and their chins inching in to each other but pulling back.
Callie could feel Brandon's nervous breathing on her lips.
Suddenly, Brandon leaned forward and pressed his lips to hers. They both just fell away and loosened up. The evident feeling of their lips to each other's was enough to heal any pain.
Callie surprising pulled out of the kiss still resting her head to his. Her eyes remained closed as she brought her hand up to his face and placed it gently on his neck with her thumb pressed into his cheekbone.
Callie pulled his head into hers sharing yet another passionate electric kiss that causes both their insides to seize and turn their brains to mush.
Each kiss became more passionate and harder. Each hand placement more random and rougher.
Callie let go of Brandon's hand and places it on the other side of his head threading it through his brown locks and pulling him closer to her.
Brandon placed his hands on Callie's neck then down to her waist. He pulled her into him as she put her left leg over his.
He turned and fell down against the arm rest as Callie fell on top of him with her legs on either side of his.
Brandon gripped at her back as she gripped at his hair.
They were alone in the house kissing each other after tensions and passion consumed their thoughts. They had given up on fighting their feelings for each other, now they were simply...free.
