All Of Your Pieces
"Hey?" Brandon said as his eyes widened at the surprise sight of her.
Callie tried to smile but her quivering lips forced away any sign of happiness.
"You ok?"
Callie nodded quickly as she turned and bit down on her lip trying desperately to hold back her tears.
Brandon could see straight through her. He knew that she was hurting.
"You wanna come in?" He asked stepping to the side as he glared at her in interest.
Callie nodded again then walked past him and entered the house again.
She stopped at the sight of the interior. It still looked the same from when she had first seen it. But this time there were boxes here and there and half the decor had been removed.
"Your packing?" She asked as she wiped her nose.
"Uh, yeah." Brandon began slowly as he shut the door. "Court left some of her things here. I was gonna send them to her."
"Oh." Callie replied then turned around and faced him. "I didn't know you were busy, I'll go then."
Callie stepped past him and headed for the door.
"No, I'm not busy." Brandon stepped back and blocked her slightly.
Callie looked up into his eyes as hers welled with tears.
Brandon frowned. "Hey what's wrong?"
Callie turned around as she shook her head gently. "I completely screwed this up. All I this. I never should've said anything to moms."
Brandon's eyes widened on her as she spoke with a quake tone. "Now you've moved out and, and I'm pretty sure moms don't even want me home anymore."
"Callie"
"God, I never should've told them anything."
"What happened?" Brandon asked swallowing as he moved closer to her.
"Um, Stef seems to think that I chooses you" Callie began sternly as she sat down on the arm of the couch.
"What?" Brandon frowned with a confused grin.
"She thinks that I already made my decision."
"You have. Haven't you?" Brandon's eyes widened once again.
"Obviously. I made that decision when I was adopted. Like you said, I needed a family."
"Yeah." Brandon nodded slightly saddened by the answer.
"But,'it's just...what if they don't want me anymore?" She looked up to him sadly as her bottom lip trembled slightly.
"Of coarse they still want you." He replied moving closer to her again. "That's why they adopted you right."
Callie looked away from him and shook her head gently.
"Then I told them." She said in an almost whisper that silenced the room. "Why did I have to tell them."
Brandon looked down on her and the grief and guilt she carried made him feel empty and sad.
"They were gonna find out anyway."
"But we're they really?" She looked back into his eyes like she was desperate. "We were so good at hiding things. All we had to do was open our stupid mouths and then they found out. If we didn't tell, they never would've known."
Callie got up from the arm of the couch and stepped past Brandon, who was left like he was shattered and broken.
"God, no matter how careful and secretive we were, we both just couldn't shut our mouths about it."
Callie sounded more frustrated than sad but then. She was just so over the guilt and pain of that one secret that killed her inside. Before she told Stef and Lena about her and Brandon she was just a ball of rising pressure just waiting to explode. She hated herself for telling, but not saying anything at all ruined her.
Brandon turned around and looked at her. His lips were slightly parted and the emotion in his eyes caused Callie to stop and stare into them.
"We weren't stupid, Callie."
Callie's lip began to tremble again and her eyes began to blur with tears.
"Yeah, we were dumb to think anything would happen, that anything could happen." Brandon shook his head gently. "But we weren't stupid."
Callie breathed in deeply then nodded gently.
"I just..." Callie began as her voice broke again. "I can't."
Brandon frowned loosely as he could feel his insides tighten at the sight of her being sad. "Can't what?"
"Move on." She shrugged as she let out an airy laugh.
Brandon clenched his jaw tightly together trying to forced back tears.
"I've tried...but I can't."
A tear rolled down Callie's cheek.
Brandon looked at her as his eyes began to sting with tears.
He walked forward slowly to her, she watched him oblivious to what he was about to do. Once he was close enough he wrapped his arms around her shoulders and pulled her close to him.
Callie instinctively closed her eyes as she wrapped her arms around his back. She could feel her entire body loosen and calm. His touch was like medicine to her. Was she was down all she needed was him and the reasons for her sadness just vanished.
She tilted her head down resting her forehead on his shoulder and her face planted to his chest.
Brandon closed his eyes too as his head fell into hers. It was like their hearts were beating at the same time. Like they were bound by a force of rhythm that could heal anything. Their body's so perfectly together that it was like they were made to hold each other, as if they were pieces to a beautiful puzzle. They were the only pieces that would fit, that would only ever fit with each other.
