Chapter Twenty-Five: Laurens fear landscape!
Chapter Twenty-Five!
I was assigned the fear of getting thrown out of Dauntless, although I'm not so sure how that works. Do I just stand there as people literaly throw me out of Dauntless, or do they make me stand in front of the whole compound as they tell me I have to leave the compound.
I'm second first is Will, and I watch as he brushes away spiders that I can't see. He must not be afraid of spiders, because I only see him flinch once, the rest of the time he looks calm, even though his body is thrashing to get off the spiders, then it's my turn.
"Christina,"Four calls. I walk over, and step into the room. I barley flinch as Lauren insirts the needle, and for a few momments I just sit there, and that's when my black starts to cover the edges of my eyes, and before I know it. I black out.
....................................................................
I wake up, and I'm standing in front of Max, eric, and the other Dauntless leaders. They all whisper, except they whisper so quietly that I can't hear what they're saying. Every few seconds a pair of eyes would analyse me. I'm not sure what's happening, but I figured it's best if I don't say a word.
I stand there for what seems like a long time. Finally Max clears his throat, and all their eyes are focused in me.
"We have evaluated you. You got the lowest rank in your initiation class, but we have came to the conclusion that-" My heart was pounding out of my chest. Is this for real, please tell me that the last word of his scentence is that. I am going to be able to stay.
"You're going to have to leave the compound!" Finishes Eric.
"Leave?!?" I shout. I feel so dizzy. and light headed. This can't be hapening I think. "Where will I go?" I ask, to afrad to hear the answer.
"You will live Factionless." Those were exactly the words I feard the most. I begint to panick. I don't know what to do. I have no clue how this is happening to me. I can't live Factionless, I would rater be dead than Factionless. I've seen very few Factionless, but just the thought freaks me out!
"How," I begin not knoiwng what to do. "How can this be hapening?" I ask. I feel tears in my eyes. I hear my heart beating in my ears.
"You got the lowest score on your initiation, to ever be recieved in Dauntless, I'm sorry but rules are rules, you have to leave!" Says Max. He is not sorry, you can telll by the look in his eyes. Two big Dauntless guys with matching tatoos of the Dauntless seals, come twoards me to escort me out.
"No!" I shout. "I'm not going anywhere." Max wears a bored expression.
"Get her out of here!" He says. The two Dauntless guys with the tatoo's come at me. I thrash with all my might. I bite whatever I can. I punch them in the face, but the more I punch the stronger they get, they manage to get enough strength to lift me slightly off the floor. I kick hard enough that they let me go.
I run twoards the table where the Dauntless leaders look amused.
"You can't do this to me, you have to let me stay!" I plead, almost begging. The two guys pick up my legs, but I pull with all my might at the table. I can't be Factionless! I will never be able to live like they do. The only jobs they have, are to sweep the floors of the city, and run the garbage trucks.
I cannot do either of those, without killing myself first.
"No, please don't make me be Factionless," I now beg, all the tears that I was holding back, suddenly burst out, and there's nothing that I can do to stop them from flowing. I let go of the table but continue thrashing and kicking. I don't stop.
"Stop!" Yells Eric, "I've had enough of this!" He says, the guys stop trying to attack me. The foyr other leaders look at Eric. "Let her calm down. Lock her in a room, or something then when she calms down we'll make her leave."
"Fine!" Says Max. The two guys pick me up, and this time I don't object. they lift me, and lock me in a small room. At first I cry hystericolly, butthen slowly as time progresses I stop crying, and my hear beat begins to calm down, then again black covers the edges of my eyes, and I black out.
..................................................................
I wake u in the chair, in a gasp. Lauren, adn Four are staring at the computer, they look at me, then back at the computer. They nod their heads, and whisper a bit to eachother.
"Not bad," Says Lauren, she slowly tilts her head from side to side, I wipe my cheecks.
"Not bad at all, especially since you haven't gone through a fear landscape in a while." Says Four."Actually this is one of the best ones that you've gone through." It's not everyday that Four gives a compliment.
"Thanks." I say, then walk out. I don't bother on asking if I look like i've been crying, becausethey all already saw me, the same way that I saw Will.
Uriah, Will and Tris, applaud me, I bow gracefully, and sit next to Will, he puts his arm around me. Next to go is Uriah. I see him grunt, as he smacks the palms of his hands onto, what I'm assuming is imaginary walls, he grits his teeth. He grunts, he looks like he's trying so hard, then pretty soon afterwards he is done, he wakes up. He did excellent.
I smile wickedly as Peter's face gets hot red, his cheeks look like they're burning, obviously he got "humiliated", his cheeks burn red. I try not to laugh.
Then it's Tris's turn, at first-as in the first few seconds- she is okay, then she begins to cry, she is doing really bad, she's behaving worse than any of us did. Then finally when you think that everything is okay, Tris yells a high pitch scream. I cover my ears. Then I gasp into my hand as I hear another high pitched scream.
Then Tris wakes up, she shakes horribley. She falls onto the ground and covers her face, she continues to cry.
"Stop!" Four shouts. He marches twoards her, and wrenches her up, this doesn't look good, "What the hell was that, Stiff?"
“I…” She hicups. “I didn’t—”
“Get yourself together! This is pathetic.” Something in Tris snaps. Her tears stop, and she smacks him hard, I gasp. He stares at her, one side of his face bright with blush-blood, and she stares back.
“Shut up,” She says. She yanks her arm free, and walks out of the room. We all stand there shocked.
