Chapter 21: Rematch
Ahsoka Tano's POV
Ahsoka drew her white glowing blades and held one in a standard grip while she held the other in a reverse grip and formed a defensive position against Maul who had his double bladed lightsaber in front of him. Ahsoka charged at Maul and swung both of her sabers at his and they locked their weapons for a time until Maul unexpectedly pushed down forcing her to lose her lock and she quickly dodged his swinging blade.
The two of them went at it for a while each exchanging hits and defensive manoeuvres and using quick strikes to try and throw the other off balance. Ahsoka knew that Maul felt more comfortable wielding a double blades lightsaber as Obi-Wan used to tell her stories about his encounter with the Zabrak Sith.
As the two kept on fighting, Ahsoka heard Rex shout out that Imperail reinforcements had arrived. Bo took care of this by sending her warriors to deal with them. Ahsoka watched as they used their jet packs to fly out of the window. Unfortunately for her, Maul used that to his advantage and jumped on her and once again locked sabers with her.
"BO NOW" Ahsoka yelled as she pushed Maul off of her and used the force to push him. The Orange hair Mandalorian then jumped up using her jet pack and sent a small missile form her wrist rocket to Maul who was blasted to the other side of the throne room and almost sent out of the window.
Maul's POV
Maul felt blood trickling down from his nose and he had a thumping headache, not to mention the dizziness he was starting to feel after getting knocked across the room but despite all of that, he got up. Luckily for him he got up in time and was able to dodge the Torguta's attack at him. He then used the force to pick her up and threw her out of the window. He then leaped down to the palace courtyard to finish off their duel.
Maul now stood opposite Ahsoka who had some blood oozing out of a cut she must have received after her fall. Maul wiped away his own blood before speaking.
"You know I must ask you Lady Tano, how did you get off of Malachor? Because before I left in one of the Inquisitor's ships I destroyed the other two just in case you survived." He said, force grabbing his lightsaber and clipping it to his utility belt.
"Yes I did notice that, but having the galaxy's best repair man as a Jedi Master comes in handy sometimes." She replied, a smirk spreading across her face.
Ahsoka's POV
A flashback to Malachor
Ahsoka finally walked out of the Sith temple after what she had been told was two months. She often came out of the temple to get some fresh air because the oxygen down there was very low but apart from that she had been down their training for her new mission. A mission that would help save the Galaxy from the evil reign of The Empire. When her "trainers" had told her to get off planet, she thought it impossible as she was sure there were no ships but then remembered that there would be the inquisitors ships.
After a days search, she found the ship's, or what was left off them anyway. Either Vader or Maul did this. She started to panic a little as she thought there to be no way off world now but then realised that Anakin had taught her all about mechanics. Oh Anakin, I'm sorry I couldn't save you, No! There's no time for regrets.
Within a few hours she had built herself a small data pad that would be able to send off world distress signals and thankfully she still remembered the rebels codes. It was a warm and uncomfortable night without any sleep but thanks to her Jedi training, Ahsoka was used to this but her spirits were lifted when she saw an incoming ship.
As the ships boarding ramp lowered, three figures jumped out and surrounded her. They were all in brown robes and they carried lightsabers which they had activated and pointed toward her. She put up her hands in defence and gasped when the three figures lowered their hoods. It was her old friends Nate Grey, Kairo Harone and Jinx.
"Ahsoka!" Nate gasped as she embraced him. She then let go and hugged the other two Jedi. "I knew she was still alive guys, I just knew it!" He said, smiling.
"I'm so happy to see you guys!" She said as they headed up into the ship's cockpit and took off, finally leaving Malachor. "How is everything back at the rebellion?" She asked.
"Um yeah...good" Jinx replied. She knew instantly that he was lying but she wasn't going to inquire any further. Ok either the rebels are losing against the empire or these guys aren't with the rebels anymore.
"Ahsoka, we have to get you back to Alderaan, I know Senator Organa would love to see you again!" Kairo commented.
"No, as much as I would love to go back guys, I can't. I have a new mission. I need to go somewhere" she replied a little upset that she was already going to leave her friends.
"Tell us and we'll take you there!" Nate said enthusiastically.
"Mortis. Take me to Mortis."
Rex's POV
Back to the present
Rex watched above from the palace throne room as Ahsoka and Maul clashed lightsabers again. "Bo we have to go help them" Rex said as the Death Watch leader walked up to him.
"No. my men have dealt with the Imperials but my scanners are picking up more coming. If we time it right, we can grab Ahsoka and leave Maul for the Empire" she said.
"Alright, I'm trusting you on that. I'll contact Lux and tell him to get the ship ready for takeoff" Rex replied.
Ahsoka's POV
As Ahsoka clashed lightsabers with Maul once again, she noticed that they had started to draw a crowd from the citizens of Mandalore who had come out of their dwellings to see what all the commotion was about. She also noticed that Imperials had started showing up and now surrounded them.
"Drop your weapons! Both of you!" The imperial officer yelled from behind a pair of Stormtrooper escorts. After some hesitation both her and Maul slowly placed their lightsabers on the ground and raised their hands above their heads.
Just as all seemed lost, the sound of an engine filled the open courtyard of the palace and everyone looked up to see a Death Watch warrior carrying what looked like an old man in Clone armour. Ahsoka grinned as Bo and Rex grew closer and timing it just right, she raised her hands for Rex to grab and thanks to Bo's jet pack, the three made a hasty escape and headed to the docks where Lux waited with the ship.
Emperor Palpatine's POV
Palpatine, secretly the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, sat in his chair as we watched Mas Amedda walk into his office with two Royal Guards carrying a stretched that held Darth Vader's body.
"Um sir, before you attend to matter with Lord Vader there is something that may interest you." Mas said walking over to Palpatine's desk and bowing before he spoke any further. "A message from Mandalore came through whilst I was on my way here and it appears that Imperial presence has captured Darth Maul."
This caught Palpatine's attention and a grin formed on his face as he had finally caught the one that had caused so much trouble. He had captured Maul mid-way through the Clone Wars hoping to lure Mother Talzin so he could destroy her since he considered her a threat, thankfully for him he had destroyed the Dathomir Witch but at the expense of letting Maul get away. Now I have you.
"Bring him to Coruscant with an escort of our top 5 Inquisitors. I want him here on the next flight off of Mandalore. Now if you will excuse me, I have much to attend to."
I'd like to give a huge shoutout to jedi_nate99 for letting me use his characters in the Ahsoka flash back. Also what could Sidious possible be up to??? And Maul is in some serious trouble.
