Chapter 19: For Mandalore!
Kanan's POV
What he had told Ezra about taking down Ahsoka was some-what a lie. He did want to defeat her because he did think she was feeding information to Vader and the rest of the Empire but that wasn't why he was using the Sith Holocron. He was using it as a way to become more powerful. Of course he couldn't tell Ezra that as he would be a hypocrite since he confiscated it off of Ezra for doing the exact same thing, so he merged two of his personal agendas together. At first he was using the Holocron so he could get more power to help further teach Ezra but now he wanted it so that he could destroy Vader and The Emperor and take the Galaxy as his own.
Bo Katan's POV
As she pulled the Dark Saber from the back of her jet pack she quickly sent a distress signal via her com hoping that one of the rebel cells would come aid her, preferably Ahsoka but any would do. Although no one would have expected her and the remaining Death Watch to join the Rebel's, she owed it to Ahsoka and Rex to re-pay them. Both had helped her try to take down Maul in the last few days of the Clone Wars and even though they failed, she owed a lot to both of them plus it was better than siding with the Empire or being hunted down by Mandalorians who had.
So now, she stood there with her weapon in hand and Maul's surprised face glaring at her as her pulled out his own double bladed lightsaber. What is this, the fourth time he's switched lightsabers? She thought to herself.
"That weapon belongs to me! I claimed it when I killed your beloved leader and you have yet to do the same, where's the honour in the that?" Maul mocked in rage.
"This weapon belongs to the rightful leader of Mandalore and you never were or will be" she growled back, wondering if Imperial reinforcements would show up any time at all.
"I don't remember you being the rightful leader?" He questioned, a smirk spread across his face.
"You wouldn't know the half of it" she muttered.
And with that, she launched up using the power from her jet pack and glided herself towards the Zabrak. She held the saber above her head and as she got closer to Maul, she brought it swinging down but was blocked by Maul's lightsaber. She un-gracefully fell as her jet pack cut power and watched as the red glowing weapon came swinging down at her head. She rolled just in time to see a burn on the ground where her head had been a few seconds ago.
She got back up and charged at him where they then locked saber's for a while until Maul pushed her off and then used the force to push her back to the windows. She once again activated her jet pack and launched herself in the air where she then used her flamethrower to try and surprise Maul but to her disappointment, his reflexes were to quick and he had jumped into the air and threw his lightsaber at her. She knocked the saber out of the air with her own and before Maul had a chance to grab it, she used the grapple gun attached to her wrist and retrieved the saber for herself.
"Your getting slow in you old age!" She yelled as she held both sabers in her hand.
"But more powerful" he replied, the same cocky grin forming on his face. He then rose his hand and made it in to a fist and the she felt her threat tightening. No, no! She thought to herself as she remembered the last time he had force chocked her, it was when her and Vizsla had found Maul and his brother and saved them from space. Now that same familiar feeling returned and she was trying to gasp for air
"Put her down!" A voice boomed from behind.
Darth Maul's POV
Normally Maul would just break his enemy's neck with a force choke and get it over and done with but he wanted this to be slow, he wanted Bo Katan to not only feel the pain but realise that he had won. Not just this battle, but for all times sake. He was about to end it until a voice spoke up from behind her.
"Put her down!"
He tilted his head sideways so that he could see who was at the palace door while still chocking the Death Watch Warrior. And of course standing at the door was none other than Ahsoka Tano, or as he called her Lady Tano, and that clone captain who always seemed to be by her side.
"I said put her down Maul!" She barked
"Of course, of course, where are my manners" Maul replied. He then let his hold on Bo go and threw her to Ahsoka's feet. "It's good to see you again Lady Tano, I see you also survived Malachor."
"Good to see you to Maul" she replied back.
"My oh my this brings back a few memories from the last time we were all here doesn't it" he said looking around the room at everyone who was there.
"Yes I remember, you lost and we won" Ahsoka said, a smirk forming on her face.
"Ah Lady Tano, you have it all wrong! If I remember correctly you almost won but then your Jedi instincts kicked in and you went racing to save you Clone friend, who I see is still alive." Maul exclaimed.
"At least now I get a second chance to finish it off"
"You don't have an army this time"
"I don't need one anymore"
Thrawn's POV
Finally his shuttle touched down on the soft green fields of Takodana and he stood on the boarding ramp to take in the sight before him. Takodana was one of the most beautiful planets he had ever seen, apart from maybe Naboo. It had luscious green grass that was filled with stunning tall tress and clear blue lakes running through the fields with various species of animals frolicking along. Just down the hill from where his shuttle had parked, his destination at which he was to meet the rebels awaited him.
He was about to head back into his own ship and contact Mas Amedda to see how much longer he would be but stopped when he saw an Imperial shuttle coming his way. He ordered the two Royal Guards that had accompanied him to bring Lord Vader's body out as he hoped for a quick exchange, if I'm late for the Rebels they'll start to think something's up.
"Grand Admiral Thrawn, I hope you know what your doing" Mas Amedda stated as he walked down the ship's ramp with two Royal Guards who went to collect Vader's body.
"You should try telling that to the Emperor" Thrawn replied. And with a quick exchange, both ships departed and he made his way to Maz's Castle.
Hope you guys are liking the longer chapters, funny enough I actually find them easier to write. Also the parts where I mention about Ahsoka, Rex, Maul and Bo in the last few days of the clone wars are canon as it is mentioned in the Ahsoka novel and Dave talked about it and this years celebration.
