Chapter 13: The Mission
Ahsoka's POV
"And how are we going to sneak on to Coruscant?" Rex asked looking gobsmacked at what Ahsoka wanted to do.
"I've already arranged for Lux to sneak us on in a freighter and I have a secret contact in The Empire who is willing to help us remain undetected while we are there." Ahsoka exclaimed. "Are you in?"
Rex sat there for a few moments, obviously thinking about what to do. Ahsoka knew she was asking a lot of him but she hopped he would come.
"When do we leave?"
Darth Maul's POV
He wasn't surprised that The Empire was keeping the planet under strict control and he wasn't surprised that there were constant patrols on the streets and in the air but what did surprised him is that The Empire was working with them. He would of thought that Sidious would find them a threat to his beloved Empire and want to wipe them out but he wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of catch to their partnership.
Maul had stole some medic supplies from a small town where he had landed his ship and now that he and removed the bacta patches and was mostly healed, he was ready to act.
He made his way towards the Palace, avoiding detection from he Imperials and as he reached the main square, he looked up at the size of the building. It had been a while since he was last here but he couldn't remember the Palace being that big. Sidious probably added to it. He grabbed his grappling cable from his utility belt and set off to claim the Palace walls.
Darth Vader's POV
Vader stood watching out the window as their hyperspace journey ended and the blue and white stripes turned into real space while Takodana emerged in front of him. He sensed Thrawn's presence coming and wasn't taken aback when he barged into the room.
"Lord Vader, I've been looking for you" Thrawn stated through his thick accent while coming to stand up next to the Sith.
"I know"
"Well I think it's time I told you my plan to tear apart the rebels" Thrawn said looking up at Vader for permission to continue.
"Proceed"
"During our journey to Takodana, I was studying these troublesome rebels past and came across Minister Tua who wanted to defect but ended up dying, excellent trap I might add" Thrawn started.
Vader remembered the trap he had laid for the Minister. If only I could do that to you Vader thought to himself as Thrawn continued on.
"I have consolidated with The Emperor himself and we have reached the decision that I will pretend to defect from The Empire and go undercover." The blue Chiss exclaimed. Vader had to admit, he was quite surprised Thrawn was willing to do this, he would have suspected that the Grand Admiral prefer to stand at the bridge of a Star Destroyer, ordering and coordinating attacks against anyone who stepped out of line.
"When does this 'defection' begin?" Vader asked as he turned and lowered his head to look at the high ranking officer who challenged Vader with every command.
"Now" Thrawn said as he whipped out a holo-transmitter.
