Chapter 3: Counter-attack
Darth Vader's POV
"Even if you can calculate how much fuel they have left, we don't know what system they jumped to" Vader said as he walked side by side with Thrawn on his way to the bridge. "Tell me Vader, why do you think they decided to attack a Star Destroyer?" Thrawn asked rhetorically, "not because they decided to fight back, no, the only times the rebels strike is when we get in their way. I have made an accurate guess as to say we were getting to close to their base and they thought they could scare us off" Thrawn stated. Or they could be avenging Ahsoka's death Vader thought. "Weather they take us to their base or some planet to refuel, we will destroy them!" Thrawn barked as he walked through the doors to the bridge leaving Vader.
The Sith Lord headed back to his quarters and when he reached it, he made his way straight to the com system. "Get the assassin to my ship immediately!"
Ezra's POV
Ezra was walking through the Ghost when he came across Rex who looked mad. "Rex what's wro-" Ezra began before he was interrupted, "move" Rex spat at him. Ezra didn't argue back, this time, and kept walking through the corridors of the ship until he found Kanan. "What's up with Rex? He asked entering the lounge room, "Rex is just upset and mad, don't worry" Kanan said. Ezra made his way to sit next to him and looked up at Kanan who clearly had a question on his mind. "Do you ever feel we could have done more to save Ahsoka?" Kanan asked looking deflated, "Always" Ezra began, "but we got rid of Maul and Vader, I'm sure once Rex calms down, he realise what she did and how many lives she saved but remember, he and her have been close for ages, he just needs to heal"
??? POV
She couldn't believe she would be serving Vader, she had been contacted by Mas Amedda to head to the landing bay as she would be serving Lord Vader for her next assignment. The mission details had been very vague and the only details she knew was that Jedi would be involved, my expertise she thought as her ship took off
Hera's POV
She was glad when the rest of the ship touched down on Atollon, as much as she loved being out there fighting the Empire with her friends, she always knew there was a high risk of losing not just pilots but people who were risking their life's, people who may have families, people who were standing up for justice. "Another successful mission wouldn't you say Captain Syndulla?" Commander Sato asked as her came over to the green Twi'lek. "Probably our most successful to date!" She replied all hyped up. "Would you care to join us for a celebration in the main hall? Everyone else will be there" Sato asked, "of course" Hera answered
Sabine's POV
Sabine was enjoying the change of pace for once as everyone enjoyed the party, except for Ezra trying to flirt with her, which she had grown use to, it was one of the most relaxing nights she'd had in ages. Even before she joined The Ghost crew, she had been part of the Imperial Acadmey on Mandalore and had never ever had a fun night. That was until the sirens started screeching warning them that the Empire had found them.
Thrawn's POV
"I want all TIE fighters and bombers launched immediately, they are to attack everything and anything and I want the cannons on every Star Destroyer ready to fire, they will try to esc-" Thrawn didn't get to finish as he interrupted by Vader who stormed on the the bridge making his presence very clear. "This is my ship and I will give out the commands, Admirial!" Vader said in disgust, "and don't you think it would be smart to keep at least some fighters aside" Vader basically spat at him. Thrawn was known for his clever tactics in the Empire and never issued such a reckless command like the one he had just made but he highly doubted that a single rebel on that planet would be alive after this. "The Emperor put me on this ship for a reason and if you haven't worked out that reason yet then let me tell you" Thrawn yelled. "I am here to snuff out these rebels and destroy them, I'm not a Grand Admirial for nothing!" He finished. "If yay are really are a great Admirial then you should know that only the highest level of authority on the bridge can give the command" Vader said, his mechanic voice threatening, "and tell me Vader, how high up in the Empire do you think you serve?" Thrawn asked, knowing that he was pushing Vader's buttons. "The right hand of The Emperor" Vader snapped back, his hand on his lightsaber. Knowing that he had been bested this time, Thrawn backed down, "very well then." You can't win every battle with a lightsaber Vader, one day you will crumble.
