Prolouge: Part 1
Kanan's POV
"Where's Ezra?" Kanan asked as he and Ahsoka turned around to face Maul who had just killed 2 of the inquisitors and helped defeat the 3rd one who's lightsaber had failed him on escape.
"You mean, my apprentice?" Maul asked rhetorically
Kanan and Ahsoka both turned to face each other with looks of surprise and shock on their face. Kanan knew they shouldn't have trusted Maul from the beginning and he felt like a fool for starting to trust him.
Ahsoka's POV
Ahsoka could tell from the expression on Kanan's face that he was shocked but she was more worried than surprised. She knew what Maul was like, towards the end of the Clone Wars she had helped both Bo Katan and the Jedi try to track him down but without success. She had been keeping a close eye on him ever since she encountered him earlier while battling the inquisitors but now she feared for Ezra.
Out of the blue, Maul spun around and leapt at Kanan with his blood-red lightsaber activated. Thankfully she had gained quick reflexes during the war and shoved Kanan backwards and Maul went off the edge of the terrace they'd been standing on. She went over to help him up but couldn't help but gasp at the cut across his face check and ended just below his right eye. "Kanan...I...I'm so sorry" she said as she helped him to his feet, "hey don't worry" Kanan begun while feeling the cut, a small gasp escaped his lips at the touch, "it could have been a lot worse, he could have cut my head off or blinded me" Kanan finished with a small laugh. "Well I was aiming to kill you." Kanan and Ahsoka both spun around to see the red Zabrak climb back up the ledge and stand before them.
Kanan's POV
Before any of them could react, a massive noise and light lit up from the top of the temple and all 3 of them looked up to see a purple beam of light shoot upwards and then it extinguished. Maul just smirked at the 2 of them and suddenly Kanan realised that this had been Maul's plan all along
Hey everyone so that's the first part of the prologue. I know I could have written one long one but don't know why but I feel more comfortable splitting it into 3 parts. And yes Kanan is NOT blind. I know this is really short so please read the next few chapters. Thank you and hope you all enjoy :)
