Part 3
Life After the Flood
In a cabin lost high in the mountains, where the wind howled like a hungry wolf and the snow covered all around like a fluffy blanket, lived a man named Apollyon. Once known as Apollyon the Destroyer, a legendary warrior whose name was whispered in fear and admiration from the darkest corners of the underworld to the glittering halls of Heavenly l. He fought against the legions of Hell, overthrew tyrants, and brought light to the most hopeless places. But those days were long gone. He was tired of blood and death, and all he wanted now was peace.
One day, during a flood in the mountains, he heard a faint cry piercing the silence. Following the sound, he found a basket at the foot of a cliff, and inside it was a tiny girl wrapped in coarse cloth. Her large eyes, filled with innocence and fear, looked at him with pleading. Something in Apollyon's heart, hardened by countless battles, broke. He could not leave her to die.
Thus, Apollyon, the scourge of demons and the nightmare of tyrants, became a father. He named the girl Mastema, which means "the one who stands against" in the ancient language. He built a cozy cradle for her in his hut, feeding her with goat's milk and singing old songs he had long forgotten. Mastema grew quickly, and soon the hut was filled with her laughter. He found himself forgetting the nightmares of the past, replaced by the joy of fatherhood.
But Apollyon did not forget about the world full of dangers. He knew that he could not protect Mastema from everything forever. So, when she grew up, he began to teach her. First, he taught her reading and writing, opening up a treasure trove of knowledge and wisdom. Then, he taught her how to survive in the wild, how to hunt, build shelters, and identify poisonous plants. Finally, he taught her how to fight.
Apollyon took his old sword, the Hofund, out of the chest. The blade, tempered in the fire of dragon blood, was still as sharp as it had been years ago. He showed Mastema how to hold the sword properly, how to move and parry. At first, she was clumsy, but he was patient. He knew that with perseverance and determination, she could learn any skill.
Over the years, she became a true warrior. She was fast, strong, and agile. She knew the Hofund like an extension of her own hand. But most importantly, she was intelligent and compassionate. Apollyon taught her not only to fight, but also to protect the weak and fight for justice. He wanted her to become better than he had ever been.
One day, when Mastema was sixteen years old, strangers came to the hut. They were people from a nearby village that had been attacked by bandits. They begged him for help, but he refused. He said he would not interfere in their affairs.
But Mastema looked at her father with reproach. She could see the fear in the eyes of these people, and she knew that she had to help. She urged him on, reminding him of his past exploits, of how he had protected the innocent and fought against evil.
In the end, Apollyon gave in. He knew that she was right. He couldn't just stand by and watch people suffer. He agreed to help them, but only as an advisor and a coach. He wanted Mastema to lead the battle.
When they arrived in the village, they saw a terrible sight. The houses had been burned down, the people had been killed, and the bandits were looting and raping. Mastema gathered the villagers and devised a plan of defense. She used all the knowledge that Apollyon had given her, and to the bandits' surprise, the village was able to repel the attack.
During the battle, Mastema proved herself to be a true leader and warrior. She fought with bravery and skill, inspiring the peasants to heroic deeds. She personally fought the bandit leader and defeated him in a fair battle.
After the battle, the villagers rejoiced. They welcomed Mastema as a heroine and thanked him for raising such a wonderful girl. At that moment, one of the old residents looked at Apollyon in amazement and said: "You're Apollyon, the Angel of Valor! I've heard about your exploits since I was a kid. You fought demons and overthrew evil, from your great-grandfather Sim!"
Mastema was shocked. She never knew that her adoptive father was a legendary warrior of the heavens. She always thought of him as just an old hunter who loved peace and quiet.
He didn't say anything. He just looked at Mastema and smiled. He knew that she now knew the truth, but it didn't change anything. He was still her father, and he would always love her.
Mastema walked over to him and hugged him. She said, "I am proud of you, father. You are not just a legendary warrior, but also a wonderful person. You have taught me everything I know, and I will always be grateful to you for that."
Apollyon hugged her back. He felt that his life had not been in vain. He had raised a daughter who was brave, kind, and just. He had passed on his wisdom and skills to her, and he knew that she would continue his work of fighting for good and protecting the weak.
From that day on, Mastema and Apollyon became even closer. They traveled the world together, helping people and fighting against evil. Mastema became known as "Mastema the Bright," and Apollyon once again became famous as the hero's mentor and wise advisor. Together, they became a legend that would be remembered for generations. It all started with a little girl found in the mountains and an old warrior who decided to give her a chance at a happy life.
Part 2
The Celestial Council Chamber, usually buzzing with harmonious voices and radiant energies, felt different today. Apollyon, the Archangel of Valor and the Councilor of Heaven, stood by the window, gazing out at the endless expanse of the Aether. His usually flawless golden plumage seemed slightly dull, and his eyes, usually sparkling with clarity, were pensive.
He thought of Anael, the archangel of joy. Her voice, like a clear stream, soothed his weary soul. Her touch, like a gentle light, dispelled the darkness that sometimes enveloped him when he faced the cruelty and injustice of the mortal world. Apollyon, always reserved and rational, experienced feelings that defied logic for the first time in his life. His heart, which he had thought capable only of compassion for all creation, now belonged to a single angel.
He remembered their first meeting. Anael approached him after one of the council's particularly difficult meetings, where they discussed the disasters that had befallen humanity (the Ice Age). Her eyes, filled with compassion, met his. "You're going through a difficult time, Apollyon," she whispered, touching his arm. In that touch, he felt not only comfort but also something much deeper.
Since then, they had been spending time together. They would walk through the gardens, sharing their thoughts and experiences, talking about their hopes and fears. Apollyon found that he could be himself around Anael, without the mask of a wise and infallible archangel. She saw his weaknesses and accepted them, not judging but supporting him.
However, their relationship was a secret. Apollyon was afraid of the judgment of other angels, who might not understand his sudden attachment to Anael. He was afraid of the Creator's wrath, which might consider their feelings inappropriate. However, his greatest fear was causing pain to his daughter, Mastema.
Mastema, the daughter of Apollyon, was a powerful and independent angel, known for her loyalty to her father and her sharp intellect. She was always by his side, helping him with his affairs and sharing his views on the world. Apollyon loved his daughter dearly and feared that his relationship with Anael might disrupt their bond.
Meanwhile, Mastema noticed a change in her father. He became more absent-minded, often retreating to the garden and returning with a subtle smile on his lips. She had seen him stealing glances at Anael during council meetings, and their eyes had lingered on each other for a moment.
One day, while walking in the garden, Mastema saw Apollyon and Anael sitting on a bench, holding hands. Their faces were turned towards each other, and their eyes were filled with tenderness. Mastema froze, as if struck by lightning. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Her father, who was always so reserved and distant, had fallen in love?
A wave of conflicting emotions swept through Mastema's chest. On one hand, she was happy for her father and wished him happiness. On the other hand, she was filled with jealousy. She felt that Anael was taking her father away from her, destroying their familiar world.
She hurriedly left the garden, not wanting to be seen. Her mind was filled with thoughts. Who was Anael to her father? What would happen to her, Mastema, if Apollyon decided to start a family with Anael? As she asked these questions, she felt a seed of doubt growing in her heart, and with it, a shadow began to envelop her soul. The beginning of the budding love between the two angels marked a new chapter in Mastema's life, one filled with uncertainty and hidden dangers.
