The morning after my birthday was odd. I woke up and heard yelling downstairs. I groggily got up and creeped down the stairs before stopping on the last step and peaking around the corner into the living room.
Jaiden and Brendon were standing in the middle of the living room with angry expressions. "Brendon it's not my fault, I know you miss me, and I miss you too.... But my life doesn't revolve around you, I'm doing my own thing right now",she said getting louder and louder with each word.
Brendon threw his arms up, "I'm not mad because you're on tour, I'm mad that you're using the tour as a way to cheat on Matt",he argued back with his hands clenched.
Jaiden said nothing, she starred at him with an unreadable look.
"Why do you think I want you to quit the tour, because I know if you continue its gonna lead to you and Matt breaking up... It's not because I miss you... I mean I do, but it's more than that. I want you and Matt to stay together",Brendon spoke with a soft voice.
"Where is this whole cheating thing even coming from Brendon?",Jaiden asked him quietly.
Brendon let out a breathless laugh, "I've seen a few things that people have posted about you two online. I haven't showed Matt any of them for your sake",he said as he looked down at the floor.
Jaiden crossed her arms, "Seriously Brendon",she said with anger in her voice. "You can't just accuse me of things you've seen on the Internet".
Brendon shrugged, "Some of it seemed pretty legitimate...I mean you two spend a lot of time alone".
Jaiden simply rolled her eyes before walking off. I sat down on the stairs with my head in my hands... Did she? Would she? I took in a deep as I looked up at the ceiling trying to keep myself from getting too emotional.
Suddenly Johnson and Gilinsky walked down the stairs and stopped once they reached the stair above me. "Uh Matt.. What are you doing?".
I looked up at them before quickly standing up, "Oh, uh.. Nothing",I said letting out an awkward laugh.
Johnson shot me a smile before proceeding to walk down the stairs, I sighed before following them into my living room.
I immediately looked around for Brendon only to see he wasn't in the living room, I checked the kitchen and then the basement. Brendon likes the basement cause there's a pool table down there. Sure enough I found him down there setting up a pool game.
"Hey",I said walking up to him.
"Oh uh hey",he said not even looking back at me.
I sighed, "I know that you think Jaiden cheated on me".
Brendon turned to me slowly, "How?".
"I heard you two arguing this morning".
He sighed,"Listen Matt, I-".Brendon started to say.
"Im gonna talk to her about it, just please stay out of it from here on out",I interrupted him.
"No! Matt, you"-
"Seriously, I can handle it",I said lightly smiling as I stood up and started walking back up the stairs.
Brendon called after me, "Matt!".
I simply ignored him and walked up the stairs, I knew Brendon will do and say anything to keep us together, even if it means lying to me.
I walked into the living room to see Jaiden and Johnson sitting on the couch with a key board spread across their laps. They were laughing as Johnson played an upbeat song.
"Jai, can I talk to you?",I said causing both of their heads to shoot up at me.
"Sure",she smiled.
She pushed the keyboard more over towards Johnson before she stood up and followed me out of the room. I led her out into the backyard so just in case this led to an argument we wouldn't argue in front of Johnson and Gilinsky.
I shut the door once both of us were outside before turning to her and taking in a deep breath, "Is there something going on between you and Johnson?".
