It's been two days since Ashton got his cast.
He keeps trying to get Jaiden to be mad at me for it, but she just ignores him.
Today would be our last day at the lake.
Jaiden shook me abruptly trying to wake me up although I already was.
"Cmon get up sleepy head", she said shaking me again like a little kid on Christmas morning.
I sat up, "Okay I'm up, why are you in such a rush? We have all day".
"Cause, I got fun plans for us",she said excitedly.
"Oh boy, that's never good",I laughed.
~2 hours later~
"I thought that you said we were going to do something fun",I said resting my hands on my knees wanting a break.
"This is fun",Jaiden said still completely full of energy.
"How is hiking fun in any way or form?",I questioned.
She crossed her arms, "It's good for your body,Matthew".
"Then why is my whole body in pain!",I exclaimed.
She rolled her eyes, "Cmon were almost to the top".
I sighed before beginning to follow her up the cliff.
After about another 15 minutes of climbing and complaining to Jaiden that my legs were going to fall off we finally reached the top.
"See that wasn't that bad",she said wiping dirt off of her cloths.
"That wasn't that bad",I mocked her with an annoying voice.
She swatted my arm jokingly before taking a seat on the ground.
I sat down closely beside her.
I watched her as she looked at the lake way below us.
"Isn't it pretty out here?",Jaiden suddenly said.
I quickly pulled my attention to the nature in front of me as if my mind had been there the whole time.
I looked around at the dozens of huge oak trees and the large lake before shrugging.
"Its just trees and water, nothing special".
She leaned her head on my shoulder, "Why don't you see the beauty in little things like this?".
Cause I'm too focused on you to worry about 'little things'.
"I don't know",I sighed.
Jaiden was silent for a moment, I wondered what was going on in that beautiful mind of hers.
"So.. Uh,are you ready to start heading back?",she suddenly asked.
I threw my head back, "Ugh going down is going to suck",I whined.
She laughed lightly, "You'll be fine".
After several hours we finally made it to the bottom.
Jaiden and I made our way back to the camp sight.
"Where'd you two go?",Brendon asked us.
"We just went on a little hike",Jaiden explained.
I scoffed, "Little?".
Jaiden laughed lightly before looking back at Brendon who had a grip on Burnies leash.
"Where are you taking him?",I questioned.
Brendon pointed to another camp sight that was about half a mile away.
"There's some cute girls over there, and if I bring Burnie then it'll attract them to come and talk to me",he stated.
I rolled my eyes, "Good luck with that".
"It works trust me, if there's one thing I know it's that girls love two things, baby's and dogs",he said matter of factly.
I laughed lightly at his confidence.
"I won't totally disagree with that",Jaiden shrugged.
"See, now I'm gonna go work my magic",Brendon said walking off slyly causing Jaiden and I to burst into laughter.
"He's such a dork",Jaiden spoke.
"Hmm I wonder where he got that from",I said sarcastically referring to her.
She shrugged, "My best guess is that he's been spending too much time with you".
I rolled my eyes at her jokingly.
"Don't roll your eyes at me mister",she said placing her hands on her hips.
"Sassy, I like it",I laughed.
She gave my shoulder a light push, "We need to start packing our stuff back up".
I nodded before Jaiden and I made our way over to our tent.
I grabbed her hand hesitantly as we walked, she looked up at me and smiled.
I couldn't help but wonder if she felt the way I did when our hands were interlocked.
