Chapter 8
My dad is really good with putting up puzzles, because he is close to finishing a puzzle of a thousand pieces, whilst I am trying to hide the pieces from him to stop him from completing it. He saw a couple of texts coming from Louis, luckily he uses shortcuts which made it difficult for my dad to understand, but he figured out it was him, thanks to Louis's message that said "y aren't u answering 2 da Tommo?". I am grounded for life now. Actually for half a year, which is a really long time.
We had a huge fight. He didn't even let me talk, he just yelled and yelled, until he had to refill his lungs and that was my only opportunity to let out a word. I lied saying that he got my number to mess with me, that I got nothing to do with him and that I find him obnoxious and a reckless guy that needs boundaries, which caused the life penalty get shorter to six months, because I kept it away from him. My dad has made sure to block his number, so Louis won't be able to call nor text me anymore, and he is planning to send a mail to his parents to let them know about what happened and tell them he wants Louis far away from me.
We are in big trouble and it's all because of a text. I wonder what will happen if they ever find out we hung out during a whole school day. I really hope Louis won't get into any trouble because of me. When I lied I thought it was a good save, but I didn't think this would happen. I thought he'll leave the subject, but I was being naive because there is no way my dad will just leave a Tomlinson's subject. He's making a huge deal about nothing and I need to tell Louis, so he can be at least be prepared.
That's the reason to why I am sitting on my window, preparing myself to climb down my window and praying to God to send me a signal I'm doing the right thing and not get caught. I gulp and turn around, copying the way Louis climbed down last night. After almost dying, I surprisingly manage to lend safety on the ground, well almost, I hurt my ankle but it's okay.
I jog to Louis's place and after arriving I panic. I thought about what I was going to say, but not how, as in how in the world I will get Louis out of his house without knocking. I would do the whole thing of throwing a rock to his bedroom's window but I have no clue which one is his. I decide to try my luck and ring the bell. My heart beats are abnormally fast and the palms of my hands are very sweaty. I'm really nervous.
After what feels like hours the door opens revealing Lottie. I thank god for putting her again on my way. She smiles at me but looks at me funny. "Why do you look like you're a on a secret spy mission?" I look down at my outfit and awkwardly shrug. I'm wearing this black set: black jogging trousers with a black shirt, along on top of it a black jumper with my hood on.
"Is your brother home?" I ask urgently and she shakes her head.
"No," I gasp, "he should be ba-"
"Why are you talking to a spy?" I feel the relief wash over me at the moment I hear Louis's voice come from behind me. I turn around and let out a sigh.
"Jul? What are you doing here?" He chuckles, "Not that I mind you visiting me." He winks and I signal him to his garage.
"We need to talk." I snap and suddenly hear Lottie cheer.
"Finally! I have been waiting-"
"Lottie, get back inside!" Louis commands and I hear her murmur something before slamming the door.
"What's wrong?" He asks, sounding concerned because he has caught up with my urgent and terrified look.
"Let's get inside your garage first?" I suggest and he nods. He takes his keys out and presses the button for the one that opens the garage door. It opens and I immediately get inside, dragging him with me by his hand.
"Close it!" I command and he does as I say.
I let out another sigh and take a deep breath. "Okay listen, I messed up and now we are in big trouble." I tell him in one breath and Louis looks at me quite confused.
"Could you tell me how exactly you messed up?" He folds his arms on top of his chest.
"My dad saw your messages and I had to lie to him, so I did and now we are in trouble." I murmur quickly.
"What did you say?"
"I sort of told him you got my number and kept sending me these messages, didn't leave me alone and stuff..."
"Juliet..." He sighs and I look at him apologetically.
"He could get a restraining order, do you realize that?! This is not good at all, Juliet! I could get into real shit!" He runs a hand through his hair and I look down at my feet.
"I am sorry! I just panicked and didn't know what to say to him, because he kept yelling and I-I-I'm so sorry. He has probably already sent an email to your parents about this." I mumble and after a moment of silence I suddenly feel his hand cup my face, causing me to look up at his bright blue eyes.
"It's okay. I'll tell my parents I was joking, they know me. It will be okay, I'm sorry I yelled at you. I panicked." He half smiles at me and I return the gesture.
"We are both idiots." I awkwardly chuckle and he scoffs as he lets go of me.
"Excuse me? Me? An idiot? You must be mistaken me for someone else." He places his hands on his hip and I giggle.
"True, the one I meant is this really hot guy!" I joke and he grins, taking a step forwards to me.
"Oh really? Hotter than me?" I step back but he takes another step towards me.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know you were considered as hot." I tease and take another step back only to fall on my butt on top of the puff, making Louis burst into loud laughter.
I glare at him and kick his shin before standing back up. I need to hurry and go back home before my parents get back from their friend's house. Good thing about being grounded is that I'm not allowed to accompany them to their friends' houses. They assume I'll have fun there and I won't learn my lesson. I am forced to going to their events though. I can't make my parents look bad.
"I need to go back." I tell him and fix my hood that has risen a bit. He frowns and starts shaking his head, before taking a hold of my forearm. "No, you're not." He pulls me and embraces me into a hug, a bear hug. "You stay right here!" He hugs me tighter and I let out a gasp at how strong he holds me.
"Lo-Lou I-I can't br-bre-breath!" I push him and he finally releases me.
"Did you just call me Lou?" His lips form into the cutest smile ever that causes me to blush.
"Uh, I guess I did..." I scrunch up my nose and he pokes it. I only did it because I couldn't allow myself to say his name, thanks to him.
"I like it." He spins me, so my back faces him, and places his head on top of my head.
"I don't want you to leave." He grabs both of my hands and holds them on top of my stomach. A shudder runs down my spine as I feel the not so comfortable but comfortable feeling I get all over my body.
"I'm grounded, I can't go out, especially be near you." I scrunch up my nose once again and he groans as he lays his forehead against the top of my head.
"You already are breaking the rules, so what's the harm?" He rocks me side to side. I wish he would stop, but I don't want him to.
"My parents don't and can't know I'm here. Not even Mary knows." I turn around and my hands press against his chest. Cheeks, don't you dare turn pink right now!
"Breaking the rules for me, aw! You deserve a free drumming lesson!" I scrunch up my nose as he mentions the drums and groan. He knows I really like drumming and want to learn.
"I need to go home!" I cry and he pouts, so I immediately close my eyes knowing I won't be able to resist his baby blue eyes and his pink pouty lips- did I just really say that? Oh god!
"Open your eyes, Jul!" He sings and I shut my eyes tighter. "Don't be stubborn!" I huff and open my eyes to see him pouting.
"Stop it!" I cover his face with my hands and he laughs. "I'm so hot I can't be even looked at." He removes my hands from his face and I roll my eyes.
"I'm leaving. I'll see you in six months." I get off his grip but he grabs my hand, stopping me.
"Woah, what?!" He gasps and I slowly nod.
"Yeah, I'm grounded for half a year." I mumble.
"What the fuck!?"
"Language!" I scold him and he rolls his eyes.
"That's ridiculous! I'm going over to have a talk with your dad." He presses the button to open his garage and I react as soon as those words get into my head.
"No! You are staying here!" I grab his shirt and start pulling him but he is stronger than me, so I come up with the idea of jumping on his back.
"You are staying right here!" I say as I wrap my arms around his neck and he moves around trying to get me off of him but I cling on him like a baby clings on his mom.
"Juliet!" He says in a warning tone but I keep clinging.
"Please don't go! You'll make it worse. I'll stay for ten more minutes if you don't go." His body tenses as he thinks, but after a minute he relaxes and let's out a sigh. I climb off his back and turn him to face me.
"Okay. But you are staying for half an hour. If you are caught I'll go and have a chat with your dad. I'm starting to get real tired of this rivalry between our families." He frowns and I caress his cheek before planting a soft kiss on it.
"So, what were you saying about that drumming lesson? I believe I deserve more than just one." I change subject, not caring if he notices. He smiles and takes me to his drums kit.
"You deserve everything." I hear him whisper which causes my eyes to widen slightly.
I sit on the stool and suddenly hear someone clear their throat. We both look to the direction it came from and see three boys standing on the entrance of the garage. Two brunet boys and one with auburn hair. All of them very tall.
"Shit!" Louis cusses and the mystery boys enter the garage and take a seat.
"Forgot about practice because of a girl again?" The auburn guy says and I frown. Girl? Again? Why am I feeling this very unpleasant feeling in my guts?
"I should leave then." I get up but Louis sits me back down, quite harshly. Ouch!
"You said you'll stay and half an hour hasn't passed yet." He says and I awkwardly look down at my feet.
"Wait, I know you! You are that princess girl!" This causes my cheeks to turn into a very deep shade of pink.
"Excuse me?" I hear Louis say.
"Uh, Juliet. My parents are friends of yours. My parents always talk about how perfect you are. They actually had dinner together today." I look up and see the brunet boy look at me with a goofy smile on his face. Does that mean the dinner is over?
"Boy, if they only knew you hook up with Louis that image would be ruined." He chuckles and I gulp.
"Shut up Ryan!" Louis growls at, apparently, Ryan and I get up from the stool.
"I really need to go Louis, I'm sorry." I give him a kiss on his cheek and mutter a quick bye to all of them before hurrying out of the garage. I need to hurry if I want to get there before my parents.
"Juliet!" I hear him call me but I take a sprint to my house. I will be in bigger trouble if my parents find out I have broken one of their rules. I'll be dead.
I reach to my neighborhood and look at the driveway to see my mom's car parking there. That was not there before when I left.
I head towards my window and as I reach it I panic when I realize I don't know how to climb up. It seems pretty high and I have no idea how Louis does it every time. I think of doing the opposite of what I did when I came down, but then I hear a door open. Oh no!
I go behind a tree and peek, trying to see who is coming out of the house. My mom comes out with her phone held against her ear and shoulder, looking quite disturbed. Then Mary comes out after her with my mom's coat, which she has forgotten.
"Thanks Mary. I need you to go and check up on Juliet, I didn't get a chance to." I let out a sigh of relief but that's when I realize Mary is about to go up to my room.
"Yes, ma'am, of course. Uh, I was wondering, my son is getting married and I-"
"Sure, whatever. I'm in a hurry. Call Melanie and ask her if she's available. Bye." My mom gets inside her car and I frown as I watch her drive away. That was my mom's car, they usually take my dad's, but after Louis' prank he hasn't used his car, and it makes me wonder if my dad is even home. It would be great if he wasn't.
"You can come out now, young lady." My eyes widen as the hair on my body raises, but I stay behind the tree and don't move nor breath.
"I know you are behind the tree." I scrunch up my nose and decide to come out of my terrible hiding spot.
"How did you know?" I mumble.
"I checked up on you earlier and you weren't there, and I saw you peeking." It didn't seem like she was looking at my direction at all, she must have eyes everywhere.
"You should be working with the FBI." I approach her and she laughs.
"Yeah and maybe then you could loan me your outfit." She wraps her arm around my shoulder and we walk back inside my house.
"Why do people keep saying that?" I groan, "anyways, please don't tell my parents!" I beg and she nods.
"Don't worry, I find it ridiculous they grounded you for talking with a boy." She rolls her eyes and I give her a big hug.
"Thank you!" I pull away and she smiles.
"Go back to your room. I managed to get you your laptop back." She winks at me and I give her another big hug. I adore her so much.
