The Demon Hound of Dog Town

I ran down the stairs when I heard Mey-Rin scream. "What's going on?" Bard said.
I saw her on the floor. "Mey-rin are you ok?" I asked. She stuttered and pointed at the cell Barrymore was in. the walls and floor covered in blood. His blood.

(Lena)
"He-he's gone. Bloody 'ell" Bard said as his cigarette dropped from his mouth.
Ciel and Sebastian ran in and Ciel's eyes widened. Sebastian gave me a look saying 'is he dead'. I nodded.
Angela rushed in and asked. "Where is Lord Barrymore?"
There was a pounding at the door. "The demon hound. The great hound is here." the villager said as soon as the door was opened.

We were all running to the place where Barrymore's body was. The villagers were all chanting their chant over and over. I stood next to Ciel and Sebastian stood next to me. Ciel gave Sebastian a look telling him to look. I hadn't seen it earlier but he was missing his left arm. Next thing I know Angela fainted.

I felt sick to my stomach and I wanted to go home. Ciel was sitting at the table while the rest of us stood. Sebastian said. "Well this is unfortunate master. Just think all of this happening after the case was closed. I'm sure you are quite annoyed."
"Are you finished?" Ciel said annoyed.
"Where's Angela?" Sebastian asked.
"We left her resting in her bed for now. She seems tired, yes she does." Mey-rin said.
"It's too pitiful to watch. Poor bird." Bard said.
"This village completely isolated itself the rest of society because of the fear of the demon hounds curse. I thought for certain the demon hound was an illusion, created by Lord Barrymore so that he can rule here. But with him dead I need to rethink things." Ciel said.
"He was covered in bite wounds. Maybe the villagers are right, maybe it was really the demon hound."
"Maybe he is mad at being blamed for Lord Henry bad deeds!" Mey-rin said.
"For now there's one thing we know. It wasn't human."
I started walking toward the door when I stumbled and fell to my knees. "Lena!" Everyone but Sebastian exclaimed.
"I'm fine." I said as I got up.
I started out when a hand grabbed me and turned me around. Bard stood in front of me. He placed a hand on my forehead. "Your burning up." He turned toward Ciel looking for a command.
"I'm fine." I said again.
"No you're not." Finny said.
"I just need some sleep."
"I'll help you to your room." Mey-rin said.
"I'm not a child, I can take care of myself." I snapped. Everyone looked at me in shock. "Goodnight." I said softly. I walked out and stumbled to my room. I could hear footsteps following me.
"Lena." It was Finny.
"I'm sorry for snapping." Is all I could say. "I-I-I just hate being compared to a weak child." I said.
"It's okay. Please let me help you to your room." I nodded and put my arm around his shoulder.
Once we reached my room I let go and said. "Thank you Finny."
He smiled. "You're welcome."
I closed my door and got into my black nightgown and got into bed. I got my book I brought and started reading. Soon there was a knock on the door. "Come in." I said.
Ciel and Sebastian walked in. "Lena I have a question for you." Ciel said plainly.
"Ask away."
"Is there anyway that red headed reaper could have done this."
"No, he's on probation and if he goes anywhere he has to be escorted." I said. "Also the first murder was Lord Henry."
"So you're saying Lord Henry's death was inhuman?"
"Yes."
Sebastian handed me some tea. "This has herbs that can help with that fever." he said.
"Thank you Sebastian." I said.
"Of course."
"Ciel I can explain the fever and it's because I used too much energy tonight. I'll be fine but I really should be getting to bed though." I said. Honestly I just want to sleep.
"Of course. Goodnight." he said.
"Goodnight." I said.
They walked out and soon I fell asleep.

I woke up feeling much better than last night. I walked into the dinning room to see Bard, Tanaka, Ciel, and Sebastian. "Good morning." I said happily.
"Lena, should you be out of bed?" Bard said.
"I'm feeling much better." I said. "Oh, and I wanted to apologies for snapping at you all last night." I said.
"No hard feelings." Bard said. He walked up and placed his hand on my forehead. "Gone." he muttered.
Finny and Mey-rin ran in yelling. "Sebastian hurry!"
"What is it now?" Sebastian said.
"We've looked all over but we can't find Angela!" Finny said.
"Oh, is that all? Yea don't worry about it. She said there were some additional herbs down by the fen so she went to go pick some." Barf said
"Right now?" Finny said. "Why would she?"
"When there might really be a demon hound lurking about?" Mey-rin said.
"Oh my." I said.
"Why would she be picking herbs at a time like this?" Finny said.
"She said she was worried about you and Lena being sick and all." Bard said.
"For me?" Finny and I said in unison. Finny grabbed my hand and pulled me out.
"Finny slow down!" I yelled.
(Ciel)
Finny pulled Lena out and Bard said. "Let's go, Sebastian!"
"Well, ugh." Sebastian stuttered.
"What's wrong with you? Are you a red-blooded man or what?" Bard started." Fine then. Mey-rin let's go."
"Sir yea sir." Mey-rin said.
"Where's Tanaka?"
"Ho ho ho." Tanaka said.
"That's the spirit. Let's go." he yelled. They all left
I wiped my mouth with my napkin then said. "You know I'm quite interested. What color is your blood? At any rate it looks as if we do need to rush. Go out and put on a good show for me. Am I clear?"
"Yes, my Lord." Sebastian said.

(Lena)
"Angela!" We yelled over and over again.
"Can you hear me?" Finny yelled.
We all went in different directions. "Angela can you hear me? It's Lena!" I yelled. Just then I heard a whimper.I looked to my left to see a small puppy. It looked like James's dog. "Come here little one." I said. It came close and I held out a piece of bread I had in my pocket. The pup took it then hopped on my lap happily. I picked it up and carried it. "I'm not going to leave you out here all alone. Such a good boy." I said.
I heard Mey-rin scream and ran toward her with the pup in my arms. "What's wrong?" Bard asked. She pointed in front of her. There were grey, separate arms and legs everywhere. The puppy started shaking and wined. "W-What is that."
"Another thrilling scene the very next morning!" I said.
One arm caught my eye. I tapped Finny and pointed. "Hey look at that ring." He said.
"It's Lord Henry's." Mey-rin and Bard said. There was a howl and we hid behind a large bolder. l sat down with the pup in my lap until I sensed something. I looked from behind the bolder with the rest of them to see a man with no clothes on.
"Who's that." Mey-rin said.
'The demon hound.' I said in my mind.
"A trophy. The arm, so it wasn't the demon hound who killed Lord Henry after all. It was a human." Bard said.
"Quite a specimen of humanity he is." Mey-rin said as she got a nosebleed.
"But why? Did he have some sort of grudge against him?"
"Could Angela asked him to do it?" Mey-rin said.
"Why would Angela do that?" I asked.
"Yea, she's right." Finny said.
"Easy boy." Bard said.
"Angela has nothing to do with it. Don't go around accusing people!" Finny said loudly.
"Shh." we all shushed.
The hound looked our way. Then all the villagers showed up in swimsuits. "What are you doing? Why you dress like that?" Bard asked.
"We're all going to bathe under the waterfall to ease the demon hounds wrath." A villager said. "The great demon hound's voice echoed in the air all last night!"
"A howl?" Mey-rin said.
Finny then ran off. "Oi Finny wait!" Bard yelled. We chase after him.
We came to these ruins and heard a howl. "What is that noise?" Finny asked.
"The demon hound." I said looking into the fog seeing a large white dog with red eyes. It started toward us." Mey-rin hold him." I said handing her the puppy. I walked forward a little.
I saw a fabric on one of its claws. "That fabric, it's Angela's." I heard Finny say.
"What are you doing. Finny." Bard yelled.
Finny ran in front of me and I yelled. "Finny get back here!"
He jumped on its paw and yelled. "Angela."
"Bloody 'ell why did you bring a toy gun with ya." I heard Bard yell.
The hound threw Finny and started toward him. The hound tried to hit Finny with its paw. I raced in front of him and caught it. I looked over to the right to see Sebastian next to me. "Will you look at that. So well trained you even know how to shake hands." Sebastian said.
"Lena! Sebastian! You were just in time." Finny said.
"But I'm afraid trained or not, you're going to have to leave now." Sebastian said as we force our hands up. Sending the hound flying.
"Come, this is no time today playing with the puppy." Ciel said as I helped Finny up.
"Master." the servants said.
"Certainly, I shall deal with it once." Sebastian said.
I took the young puppy from Mey-rin and said. "Come see boy. Thank you Mey-rin."
She nodded. Thing I hear is the servants saying. "Dog treats?" I turn to Sebastian holding a box of Inukko dog treats.
The demon hound started toward him. "Look out Sebastian." Mey-rin yelled.
"The best way to tame the dog is to bend it's will enforce obedience. In other words, rewards and punishments!" I saw Sebastian's eyes were pink. "First, reward." Sebastian started biting the hounds nose and the hound sat and howled.
I covered Ciel's eye and eye patch and said." You don't need to see that."
"What's he doing now?" Finny asked.
"I guess this is training." Mey-rin said.
"And now punishment." Sebastian said kicking the hound in its muzzle. Ciel took my hand off his eyes.
The little dog in my arms whimpered. "Shh. It's okay." I said softly to calm it down.
"Reward." Sebastian said holding up the box I dog treats."Punish." he said hitting the dog in the jaw. "Reward." He rubbed the hounds stomach. "Punish." He kicked the hound in the stomach. "Punish." He said swinging the hound by it's tail.
"Well, I suppose I did ask him to put on a good show." Ciel said.
"And finally a hug." Sebastian said running to the hound, hugging it, and jumped into the air. The hound came down and crashed into the ground. When the dust cleared there was a giant hole in the ground.
"Sebastian!" Finny yelled. The four servants ran to the hole and I walked gently stroking the pups head.
"Hello?" Bard said into it.
"I don't see 'em down there." Mey-rin said
Ciel walked to the hole and yelled. "Quick dawdling down in that hole! Get back here right now!"
"Yes sir!" Sebastian's voice came out.
A violent shaking soon started and I ran away from the hole alongside Ciel. "Hot." The servants yelled as the hot water rocketed out from the hole.
"Is that a Hot spring?" Bard asked.
"Where's Sebastian?" Finny asked.
"This village is supposed to be a resort for the queen needs a central attraction. A luxury. Away for visitors to relax and forget their cares. That's what we have here:a natural Hot Springs." Sebastian said showing up at the top of the waters spout holding the demon hound in human form.
"That's amazing." the servants said.
Sebastian jumped off the water spout and landed gracefully on his feet. "If I couldn't find a hot spring for my master, well what kind of butler would I be. The idea of it would be unthinkable."
The demon hound licked Sebastian, who had a discussed look on his face. Mey-rin got another nosebleed. Angela yelled. "Pluto!"
"Pluto?" Bard asked.
Angela hugged 'Pluto' and said. "Good boy. My good boy."

"Sorry for the confusion, this is Pluto. I found him last month. I've always been a big dog lover, and he was so adorable I just had to take him in." Angela said.
"Adorable?" Mey-rin and Finny said.
"He does have a bad habit of turning human when he gets excited"
"A habit. You called that a habit." Bard yelled.
"You sheltered and fed him for a month without telling anyone else?" Sebastian said.
"Yes. Long Barrymore was using legend of the demon hound, to control the villagers but in truth he feared the hound more than anyone else. I didn't know what he would do to Pluto if he found out. I see now I was too indulgent. I never thought the sweet boy would help Barrymore." Pluto smiled. "I beg you sir, please take him with you. I know it's an imposition but please take him to live with you at the Phantomhive Manor." She begged.
"You want us to keep that monster!" Bard yelled.
"He needs a firm hand, I think of Sebastian were to train him he would become a good dog."
"No thank you, I'm a butler not one hell of a dog trainer." Sebastian said.
"Why not?" Ciel said.
"Master, is this an order?" Sebastian asked.
"Yes. It sounds amusing in several ways." Ciel said with a smirk.
The villagers came in a large crowd. One yelled."The curse of the great demon hound is lifted!"
"Oh thank goodness we're finally free!" another said.
"What's all this about?" Ciel and I said in unison.
"There is a legend in the village that when dogs the sin of our ancestors against dogs are fully atone for,the land will weep tears of forgiveness." Angela explained.
"The tears of blessing!" The old women said.
"Don't they realize the Hot Spring has been underground all along?" Sebastian asked.
"Likely not. At any rate however, our work here is done." Ciel said.
"I happen to recall you had to eat your words earlier. Would you like to say it now that it's true?" Sebastian said.
Ciel looked annoyed. "Why don't you do it!" he said.
"This case is now officially closed!" Sebastian said.
"Now Lena where did you find that dog?" Ciel asked.
"I found him when we were looking for Angela." I said happily.

I was playing with the puppy. I asked everyone in town if they lost him but no one claimed him so I'm going to take him home with me. I didn't have a name for the him yet. "Sit." I said. he sat. "Good boy. Now come." the puppy ran to me. I hugged him and he licked my face. I laughed. "My good boy."
(Ciel)
I was soaking in the newly made hot spring when I heard laughing. Lena's laughing. It was softer then when she laughed in the Jack the Ripper case. "My good boy." I heard her say. I knew she was referring to the dog she found.
"Excellent. This is just perfect." I said.
"Allow me sir. Traditional hot spring service." Sebastian said putting a tray in the water. "You see my Lord this is how the Japanese enjoy Hot Springs."
I took the tea and took a sip. "This is a nice addition. this gloomy village has experienced quite a transformation. I imagine her Majesty's worries have been dispelled."
"Thing tells me my words are just beginning." Sebastian said as Pluto swam by. I heard Lena laugh again.

(Lena)
We were ready to leave. Angela was putting a collar on Pluto. "There you are, nice and snug. Don't ever forget me. Dear Pluto." Angela said I now know what she is.
I sat in the carriage with Aaron on my lap. Aaron is what I named the dog. "Are you sure it's okay for me to ride with Aaron up here, Ciel? I would hate for him too mess up your carriage."
"It's fine." He said.
I hadn't realized the others were talking until Sebastian said."If your finished shall we go?"
"Certainly, maybe I'll come visit Pluto one day at the estate." Angela said.
"I don't know if it'll be a good idea."
"What?"
"You were able to tame the demon hound. Not many people can do that. You seem to have a talent for wrapping lesser beings around your finger." Sebastian, Angela, and I had a staring contest.
"Let's go Sebastian." Ciel said.
Then we were off and I waved until I couldn't see Angela anymore. 'Goodbye Angel.' I thought.

I had fallen asleep on the ride home. I felt my shoulders being shaken. "Lena we've arrived." Ciel said. I opened my eyes to see Ciel before me.
I felt something wet on my cheeks. Tears. "Thank you for the ride home Lord Phantomhive." I said wiping the tears away.
I got out of the carriage cradling Aaron in my arms. "What exactly were you dreaming about, Lena?" Ciel said with a smirk on his face .
I grabbed my bag and walked toward the door. Before I opened it I said. "My mother." I opened the door without another word. "Thank you again for the ride." I walked inside and shut the door.
"Welcome home." A voice said.
"What are you doing here Will?" I said.
"I'm here to collect your things."
"Here." I said handing him my list and spectacles.
"Thank you. I'll be off now."
"Okay." I said.
Once he left father came out. "Welcome home dear." He spotted Aaron. "And who's this."
"Thank you father." I said. "This is Aaron, he didn't have a home so I gave him one."
"Such a kind girl." He said.
"I know. Anyway I'm going to bed."
"Okay dear goodnight."
"Goodnight." I said walking to my bedroom. I got into my nightclothes and sat up in my bed stroking Aaron. Soon I fell asleep.

Hey people. I said I would try to get a second chapter up this weekend, and here it is. It might suck but I worked on it till about 2 AM and then all day today. So here goes. I should probably tell you, I do like comments I will take negative or positive. I like positive comments a lot better. I appreciate the 33 votes that I have on this story. I have the next chapter posted as soon as I can.
