The Reaper's True Power
Recap
(Ciel)
"Why not?" A small voice said. We all turned our attention to Lena, who was standing supported by her scythe. "I mean, if a half-reaper half-human can beat you I'm sure demon can." Her hair was plastered on her face and neck from the rain. She looked like she was crying or was it rain?
"Miss Lena is right. If my master instructs me to win, I shall win." Sebastian said.
"You care quite a lot about that puny brat, don't you? I'm jealous. Even a demon ceased to exist if I read them with my death scythe. Are you frightened?" Grell asked.
"Not in the least. I belong to my master. My soul and my body. Down to last hair on my head. The contract remain so I follow his every order. That's the Butler aesthetic, you see." Sebastian said.
"And you are definitely going to get demoted, Grell." Lena said. "If you don't get killed."

(Lena)
I felt tears in my eyes from the memories but I didn't care. It probably looks like rain or water from my damp hair. I saw the lifeless body of Madame Red. 'Grell your an idiot.' I thought. I had regained my balance and walked over to Ciel.
"I'm sorry I could have helped. I'm weak. You shouldn't have asked me to help. I could have stop him before he killed her." I said as Ciel place the coat Sebastian gave to him on Madame Red's body.
"No it's fine Lena. Grell was trying to bait you into attacking him, wasn't he?" He said.
I hadn't realized Grell and Sebastian were fighting. Sebastian couldn't even touch Grell. "Yes, he knows how much the topic of my mother bothers me. And he knows I'd be fighting right now if I was at full strength. And it would be a fight to the death if I get the chance." I said.
Then I heard Grell say. "Here we are a demon and a reaper. I suppose we'll never resolve this. These feelings that we have are forbidden. It's just like Romeo and Juliet. Oh, Bassy, Bassy! wherefore art thou Bassy?" Sebastian trying to kick him in the face. "If you would deny thy master and refuse thy name I know we could be happy together."
Sebastian gave his creepy, fake smile then said."From the moment my master uttered my name the word became our solid contract. I was re-baptized as his. And his alone. from that day I've been Sebastian. By yonder moon I swear it."
"I need to help, I know I could keep up with Grell. I could hit him." I muttered as Grell was flirting with Sebastian. Ciel grabbed my arm as if saying 'wait for an opening.'
"Please stop that it's revolting." Sebastian said to Grell.
"Oh, your so cold! " Grell said as he started up his scythe. "Beautiful tyrant! Fiend angelical! My dove feathered raven."
"Idiotic reaper. Red headed terror. Crimson killer." I said under my breath.
"Oh, Bassy my love if that cruel morning would never come! Then the two of us might go on like this forever. Our love lit by the moonlights glow. But now I'm afraid our adventure ends now." Grell said head butting Sebastian, making him go backward. "Should we part with a passionate kiss. No then goodnight my love." Then Grell slashed Sebastian's chest with his Scythe.
"Sebastian!" I yelled. I looked in a puddle at my reflection. My eyes were not emerald green, but the reapers neon green/yellow ones. Some blood on my face, probably from when I fell or fainted. Ciel looked at me with wide eyes. "It's my turn." I said as I gripped my scythe harder. Sebastian's cinematic record. It only showed his life for the past two years. I ran toward Grell as Sebastian got himself in order. I tried to hit Grell but he saw me.
"And now your attacking me. My, my whatever happen to the little girl I knew?" Grell said blocking me.
"She grew up!" I said. "And though you try to pester me about one little situation that you know bothers me. It's very risky too do that Grell." I gave a wicked smile and swung again hitting the roof.
My eyes glowed. I could see it in Grell's glasses. "Your going to use all your strength. Oh, you are such a child, Lena."
"If you believe that, so be it. It may be I'm a child, but I'm more mature then you." I yelled swinging again.
"What would your mother say if she saw you now." I hesitate and he hit me. Not hard enough to kill me but to make me fall. "Your a weak little girl, Lena. Why even try."
I swung though I was on the ground. I hit his shoulder as he moved away. "I might be weak. But as my mother told me along time ago with weakness there is always strength. She knew what I was from the very beginning, she accepted me for who I was. She died knowing I would go live with my father. She knew I was strong even with weakness." I said as I gripped my side. I took my hand off to see blood on my hand, my blood.
I started to laugh."Why are you laughing! Your bleeding on your side! you can die, yet you laugh! It has to be because of you're related to your father!" Grell said.
"No....I brought this upon myself. I.....hesitated so I got....hurt." I said threw my laughter. "But I does..... help that.....my father...is a little,...what's the word....insane."
Grell kicked my scythe away from me. "You're a stupid little girl."
"Why do you call me a little girl, when I'm fourteen?"
Then he realized what I was doing. "You're not using your full power, you're stalling!" I laughed again. "Lena how could you do this to family?"
"Your not my family anymore. Never again will I trust you." I spat. That drew him over the edge. He kicked me off the roof. I landed on my feet but staggered and fell to my knees. I gripped my side again.
"Lena are you alright?" Ciel asked from behind me.
I nodded, but I knew I might not be. "I'll be fine. Just a ruined dress." I said quietly.
'I'm lying to him and myself.' I thought. 'I might die tonight.' I gently got up and walked to the wall closer to Ciel. If Grell comes toward him at least I can try to protect him.
Sebastian was now facing Grell again. "Oh, looked at that, my clothes are ruined again. This is past mending." Sebastian said.
"Must be pretty confident, worry about you clothes to time like this. but I like a man whose careful about his appearance.Well done Bassy."
"There was one technique that I absolutely did not want to use, but I have no other choice."
"So at last you're finally going to fight me seriously." Grell said starting up his scythe. "Down at the next blow. I'll miss you terribly. But perhaps we'll meet again, farewell Bassy."
"Stop his scythe he is powerless." I whispered. Sebastian must have heard me or he had the same idea because he got his ripped coat caught in the chainsaw.
"What?" Grell muttered.
"That tailcoat is made of high-quality Yorkshire wool. Wool is a very tricky fabric, once it gets caught in something it is difficult to get it unstuck."
"How could you do this to me?" Grell said trying to pull out the fabric.
"I acquired that coat at the manner, I certainly didn't want to use it for something like this. But, you had all ready ruined it, after all. Now, in a normal fistfight, I feel a certain amount of confidence." Sebastian said.
"No, please just one request! Not my face!" That's exactly where Sebastian kicked him. "I said no face!" He got kicked off the roof and fell toward Ciel. "Please stop."
Sebastian kicked him once again away from Ciel and toward the wall where I sat holding my side. Grell landed a few feet away from me. "I am sorry. I misjudged the distance, my Lord." I stood up but stayed on the wall.
"You two look pretty awful." Ciel said.
"I had a bit of trouble with him." Sebastian said.
"I've felt worse." I said. "I merely distracted him. I knew he wouldn't hurt me too bad. I'm sure he's learned a lesson he'll never forget."
"I'll...show...you someday." Grell said.
"Oh, dear. I suppose one can't kill a reaper with their bare fist." Sebastian said walking toward Grell, grabbing the scythe on his way. "Well then I'll just try this, his very special reaper scythe." He ripped the coat from the scythe. "There that's unstuck. Now it should cut threw you."
My eyes widened. "W-w-what are you doing. N-n-no." Grell said. Then he looked at me. "Lena, you can't let him do this to me."
I knew he was right. I couldn't let him kill someone who use to be my friend. Who comforted me when my mom died. "Grell." I whispered. I tried to step forward but fell. "I'm losing too much blood."
"I must say, I preferred kicking then being kicked. " Sebastian said.
I zoned out thinking of this moment. The moment I'm dying. The moment I'll be reunited with my mother. I knew the wound was already healing but it might not be fast enough. I stayed like this until Grell yelled. "I can tell you who killed the kids parents!" I realized my scythe was next to me.
Sebastian brought the scythe down and it almost hit him, but two scythes stopped it. Mine and Will's. Sebastian and Ciel both gasped and looked Will's way. Then Ciel looked at me. "I apologize for interrupting. Let me introduce myself, I am William T. Spears, an administrator for the Grim Reaper Staffing Association. I've come to retrieve that reaper there." Will said looking strait at Grell.
"William! You came to save me!" Grell said only to have will step on his head pushing his head into alley's bricks.
"William." I said calmly.
He looked at me and nodded. Then he went back to Grell. "Attention reaper Grell Sutcliff, you have violated several regulations. First, you killed people not on the 'to die' list. Secondly, you use of death scythe for which a permission form is not filed. And finally, you attempted to leak information classified to someone about the identity of his relatives murder." Will hop off of Grell's head and walked over to Sebastian. "I apologize for all the trouble this wretch has caused." Will bowed. "Here please accept my card." He said using his scythe to hand Sebastian a card. Sebastian took it. "Honestly, I never thought I'd see the day when I have to bow my head to demon scum like you. This is a disgrace to all grim reapers."
"Then perhaps you should keep a better eye on your minions. So they don't trouble us. Humans are so easily tempted. They will do anything when they are in any type of utter despair. They will grasp at any thread that promises to save them from unhappiness no matter the consequences. You should know that."
A growl escaped my lips earning everyone's attention. "Your one to talk, Sebastian." I said. "What I did tonight surprised even me. It's true I despise your kind and yet I helped you. Maybe it wasn't you I felt like I was helping." I said glancing towards Ciel. "I don't know what I was feeling but I got hurt for it, and it was my own fault."
Will held his hand out to cut me off. "There is no need for that Lena. Right now you seem to be a tame dog. That makes you less dangerous than the rabid mongrels running around free." Will said walking to me helping me up. He kept his hand around me to make sure I wouldn't fall again. "Now come with me Grell, Lena we're leaving."
I looked at Ciel and bowed my head. "Lord Phantomhive." I said as I grabbed Grell by his hair and started pulling him.
"We're already short handed and my backup reaper is hurt. So now you given me more overtime Grell. The board is not going to be pleased." Will said scolding Grell.
Sebastian threw Grell's scythe and Will caught it with his middle and ring fingers. "I assume you'll want that. Yes?"
"Yes, thank you." Will said dropping the scythe on Grell's stomach. "Now if you'll excuse us."
"Yes, goodbye and sweet dreams Lord Phantomhive. I hope this experience hasn't dramatized you to badly." I said glancing back to see Ciel with a surprised look on his face. "If you ever need help don't hesitate to come to the shop and ask." Then we walked away. I had a smug smile on my face.

My father was waiting outside the shop for us. I was barley conscious. "Dear what's wrong?" My father.
"I'm afraid.....I need some .......stitches. I got hit.....with a....death scythe." I said as the darkness took over and I feel into my fathers arms.

I woke up in my bed. My hair was in my face and I was in my long grey night gown. I felt my side to feel the stitches. I remembered what happened. I carefully got out of bed and walked into the shop. "I see you're awake. How do you feel Dear?" my father said from behind me.
"I'm feeling better." I said.
"You had Will and I worried. You lost a lot of blood and you were chilled to the bone." He said.
"I'm sorry for making you worry father. I'll have to tell Will I'm sorry next time I see him."
"Lena, how long has it been since you've visited your mother's grave?" My father asked.
"A year." I said quietly. "I've wanted to go but something's been stopping me. I almost went when I went on my last walk but I couldn't."
"I understand. I think you should go after the funeral. It will be good for you."
"Okay." I said "And is the funeral for....?"
"Madame Red."
"I'll go get ready." I said.
"Okay dear." He said.
I went back to my room and right to my closet. I pulled out a pure black dress (much like the others), black tights, a black jacket, and black boots. I then took a shower and cleaned all the dried blood off my body. Once I got out of the shower, dried off, and got dressed. I put my hair up into a neat bun with a braid around it. I put on eyeliner, mascara, grey eye shadow, soft pink lipstick, and a little blush. Funerals are the only thing I wear makeup for. I walked out of my room once again and said to my father. "I'm ready to go."
"Then let's go." He said.

I was standing by the fence of the church when I saw some kids running up and the little girl said. "Big brother."
"Hey look the church is really crowded today. Why?" The younger boy said.
"Dunno." The oldest said.
"You're older then us. Doesn't that mean you should know?" The young boy said.
"Your stupid." the little girl said.
"Hey, I'm still only twelve. It's not like I'm supposed to know everything yet." The oldest replied.
I chuckled and walked toward them with my father. "You have a point." my father said as we leaned on the gate.
"At only twelve it would be ashamed if you did understand what's happening." I said.
"Let us explain it." My father said. "Today is a special noblewoman's big day."
"What do you mean mister?" the girl asked only to be pulled back by the older boy.
"Well, what my father means is, it's the ultimate ceremony in any persons life. A funeral." I said as father and I started toward the church.
I made it there just in time to see Ciel jump onto Madame Reds coffin. "White flowers and plain dresses don't suit you in life and they don't now. You belong in red. The color of passion. The color of spider lilies. Farewell Aunt An." Then flower petals went into the church."Rest peacefully Madame Red." I stood there as I felt one single tear fall from my eye.
"Come now Dear. Let's go see your mother." My father said wiping the tear away.
"Okay." I said.

"This is her?" Sebastian asked the Undertaker.
"Yes, indeed it is. Lena and I's last customer from Jack the Ripper." The Undertaker replied.
"Apparently she was an immigrant. She had no family in the country to claim her body." I said
"So are kindhearted earl here hired us to pretty her up even have this grave stone erected. A noble act on his part." the undertaker said.
"It wasn't noble at all. The noble thing to do would have been to save her and I have if I had put her life first. But no I had to catch him. pretended Jack the Ripper was more important. I knew they intended to kill her. I knew, and I let her die along with my Aunt." I said.
"You regret what you did my Lord?"
"No I don't. Jack the Ripper is gone forever. I did as her Majesty asked of me. Along with Lena's help."
"Victoria,eh? Don't much like her. She just sits back and watches while you do all her dirty work for her. Doesn't seem fair to me."
"That's what the Phantomhive's do. It's our duty passed down from generations along with this ring."
"That ring reminds me of the collar a master puts on a dog. And tied to the queen like the leash of duty." The undertaker said.
"I chose this life." I said pushing the man off of me.
Undertaker grab my tie. "Lord Phantomhive you should be wary of which duty you've taken or that collar may choke you yet." He said letting go making me stumble backward into Sebastien. "We wouldn't want that now would we?" He handed me the white flowers he held. "Come by the shop if you should need my or Lena's assistance again. You and your hilarious butler are always welcome."
Off in the distance I could see a figure kneeling on the ground. It was defiantly a female. I looked a little harder and saw who it was. "Lena? What is she doing here?" I asked no one in particular.
(Lena)
I knelt down on the ground in front of my mother's grave. I didn't care if my dress got dirty. "Hi Mom. I know your watching me now so I thought I'd talk to now. I know you'd listened to me." I said as I set down the bouquet of roses I had in my hands. "I'm sorry I haven't visited in a while. I know your watching me but so far since my fourteenth birthday I've almost been sold in a black market, I let a women die that wasn't on the 'to die' list that I could've saved, I helped someone from the kind that killed you, and I almost died." I said as I traced my finger along the gravestone.
Sarah Patricia Myles
1858-1884
Loving Mother, Sister, Aunt, and Lover.
"I've been a bad girl when you told me to be a good girl. I don't know what to do mom. Why did you leave me? I miss you Mom. I need your help more than anything now." I said.
"So is it Lena Myles then?" a voice said from behind me.
I turned to see Ciel. "No my mother gave me my father's last name." I said.
"I see." He said.
"I should be heading home it's getting late." I said standing up.
"Lena!"
"Yes, Lord Phantomhive?"
"I'm sorry."
"Thank you." I said quietly. "But I know you don't mean it. No one does." I had a sad smile my face.
"Oh and how are you feeling?"
"Better. I lost a lot of blood and was chilled to the bone but I'm still living." I said no emotion in my voice. "Now if you will excuse me." I said walking toward the shop.
