CHAPITAR 14
"To soak all that good meat juice"

Xavier's POV:
Is this really happening? Is she really hugging me? I hesitantly hug her back because I don't want to push it too far. After a few minutes she pulls away and grabs my hand, leading me back to her room. She sits down in the bed and motions for me to sit as well. I do.
Mallory takes a deep breath and I have no idea what's coming next. "I'm sorry." My mouth drops open. I was not expecting that. "You didn't know I was your mate, but it's still not right for you to hurt rouges when most of us don't have a choice." I twitch when she says us, as if she is still a rouge.
"I know, I'm...sorry. It's just kinda become a habit."
"I've decided to give you a second chance. However you need to not almost kill people when you first meet them. It's okay to be skeptical but don't just attack strangers."
"Okay. I promise I'll work on it." I say, not really thinking about what I'm agreeing to.
"Okay." She says softly, followed by a yawn. I stand up so she can get situated.
"Goodnight." I say, walking to the door.
"Xavier?" She says, and I turn around.
"Yeah?"
"Will you stay with me?" My eyes grow wide but I quickly shake it off.
"Sure" I walk over and slide into the hospital bed with her. I lay my arm around her and she leans her head on my chest. Soon I hear my beautiful mate's snoring.
As she sleeps I begin thinking. What made her forgive me so fast? Is she just trying to trick me again? And then there's that stupid kid she met in the woods...what's his name...oh well. He's probably not that important. I don't even know what became of his mate after he got called. She's probably not that important either
I remember the next calling is in a few days, and I know Mallory's going to try to put a stop to it. But she can't. It would ruin the alliance that took so many lives to create. She can't mess with that, can she?
