Chapter 5
??? POV
I woke up to the sound of talking from down the hall. I sat up and stretched, wincing in pain a little. I looked at my covered wound and saw a little bit of blood on it. Looks like I need new bandages, I thought, getting out of bed and looking out the window. It was a bit bright still, but it looks as if it'll be brighter soon. I quietly opened the door and walked to the living room, seeing Mister and Missus Lloyd on the sofa. They were in a very deep conversation. When Missus Lloyd saw me, she got up quickly and ran to me, asking in a worried tone, "What's the matter, sweetheart?"
I looked at my wound and replied, "My bandage has blood. I need to get new bandaging." Missus Lloyd nodded and took me to her bathroom, telling me to sit on the toilet. She took out a first aid kit and took the gauze off, making sure to not reopen my wound. She started to clean my wound when she said in a kind tone, "Your dress is really beautiful. If it wasn't so dark, I would wear that around. But since it's always hot here, it would overheat me."
I nodded in agreement, replying, "Yes. I don't know why I was wearing a really dark color of a dress when it's really warm here." When Missus Lloyd finished cleaning my wound, she asked, "Would you like to wear something more breathable, dear?"
I nodded and she got up and left the bathroom. A minute later, she came back with a light green shirt and blue jean shorts and finished wrapping the gauze on me. She put up the first aid and informed, "Change into that. It'll be a lot more comfortable. Just bring me your dress when you're done." She left and I changed into the shirt and shorts. When I finished, I was a lot more comfortable than before. I left the bathroom and found Missus Lloyd in the living room again. I gave her my dress and thanked, "Thank you, Missus Lloyd."
Missus Lloyd laughed a little and said, "Please, call me Karen." She held the dress up and looked at the back of the collar, squinting. She smiled a little and said, "Look. There's a name on the dress. 'Marie Valkeryie'. That's a very beautiful name, Marie." She left the living room without another word to me. I stood there and thought, So my name is Marie Valkeryie? That's very unusual. I wonder who I was before.
Kristi's POV
I took a shaky breath in as Dr. Smiley was examining me. So far everyone has believed in me. They didn't question anything yet and they aren't learning anything. That's a good sign. Dr. Smiley backed away from me and looked at Slenderman. "She only has a few cut marks on her arms," he informed, dabbing my arm with a little bit of hydrogen peroxide. "Marie didn't do any real damage to her."
Slenderman sighed in relief and muttered a "Thank God." under his breath. I gave a small fake whimper and leaned onto Slenderman, saying in a scared tone, "S-Slendy, I-I was so s-scared." He hugged me and shushed, "It's okay, dear. You did what you had to do. You should get to bed."
I nodded and left to go upstairs when I bumped into Jeff and Ticci-Toby. "I'm sorry," I apologized, rolling some fake tears. Jeff nodded as Toby replied, "It's fine. I can't believe Marie did that to you. She seemed to always wanted to meet you. I guess we were wrong about that."
I felt a tug at my heart and I looked back down. "I guess you were," I said quickly before going upstairs to mine and Slenderman's room. I closed the door behind me and took a deep breath in, wiping my tears. She's always wanted to meet me? I asked myself as I changed into something more comfortable. I never knew that she was so stupid. I sat down on the bed and pulled out the flip phone I was provided. I opened it to see a text I received:
?Tey fo dir nevig neeb ehs sah?
.Kcab gnimoc eb t'now ehs. .Sey. I replied back quickly, waiting for a response. After a minute, I got one back:
.Snoitcurtsni rehtruf rof tiaw, won. .Tnellecxe.
I sighed and closed the phone, putting it away. I laid down in bed and closed my eyes. The job is almost complete.
Ticci-Toby's POV
When Kristi ran to her room, I raised in eyebrow in suspicion. She's acting weird, I thought, looking at Jeff. He must've thought the same since he said, "Something doesn't feel right. Those cuts on her arm don't seem like defense wounds. I've seen enough to know what the look like."
I nodded in agreement, looking around to make sure no one can hear us. "I don't think Marie attacked her," I whispered. "She's always wanted to meet her mother, so why would she attack her? Something fishy is going on and we need to figure out what it is."
Jeff agreed and was about to say something when Slenderman asked in a questioning voice, "What are you two doing here?" I turned quickly and looked at Slenderman, replying in a normal tone, "Remember that we took Kristi to Dr. Smiley with you? We just wanted to make sure she was okay."
Slenderman seemed to have bought it and replied, "She's alright. She only has a few cuts. Nothing severe. You don't have to worry anymore. You guys should get to bed. It's your night tonight." I nodded and Jeff and I walked upstairs to our rooms, which were next to each other. We bid each other goodnight and I walked into my room, taking off my goggles. I changed into pajamas quickly and jumped into my bed. I turned to my side to see a picture of my family before I became a killer. My sister and mother smiled wide at me, reminding me of losing them both. I already lost my love ones before. I'm not losing another one, was the last thing I thought before falling asleep.
