Chapter 11
Marie's POV
I sat in the living room, fresh clothes on instead of bloody ones. I had a bruise on my cheek with a few cuts on my arms, along with an aching ribcage. Tobias was in his room, still unconscious from blood loss. Karren sewed his wound up and says he'll be okay, thanks for me taking him here. I was still a little shaken by the thought of the guy. Not because he almost killed us. Because of the fact that he knew my name. "Things are getting weirder," I mumbled to myself, rubbing my bruised cheek.
Mark came in and gave me an ice pack, smiling sadly. I grabbed the ice pack and put it on my cheek, numbing my pain. "Thank you for saving Toby, Marie," Mark thanked, tearing up. "I know you didn't like him that much, but it was so kind for you to bring him back."
I looked at him, smiling a tiny bit. "He was just saving my life," I lied, making Mark surprised. "The guy attacked me and Tobias fought him off. He really saved me."
Mark was obviously shocked. I lied because I didn't want Tobias to think I wanted to get all the praise, so I just lied. Mark was about to say something when Karren shouted from another room, "Mark, Toby's awake!"
We got up and went to Tobias's room. It looked really cool with the game posters and everything. Mark went to Tobias's side and smiled. "I'm so glad you're okay," he whispered as I sat next to him. "You were so brave to save Marie's life. I was surprised when she told me this."
Tobias looked at me tiredly, mumbling, "I didn't save her."
Mark shook his head, patting his slightly pale hand. "Oh, Toby," he said sadly, "You must be tired from everything. You should rest."
He got up and we were going to leave when I heard Tobias say, "Stay here, Marie. I want to talk to you."
Shit, I thought, closing the door, He's probably pissed off anyways. I walked to Tobias's side and sat down, seeing him look at me in surprise. "Why'd you lie to him?" he asked, not sounding angry at all, surprisingly.
I shrugged, replying, "I thought you would hate me for getting praised, so I lied." I looked around his room a little more and added, "Nice room, by the way."
For the first time ever, I heard him chuckle. He turned to me and smiled a tiny bit. "Thanks," he thanked, "For both, I mean. Saving my life and thinking my room is cool. I thought you would've left me there to rot."
I gave him a small smile back, shaking my head. "I wouldn't let you die, Tobias," I said, "Not when you have a family that loves you."
He smiled more, nodding. "Please, call me Toby."
Jeff's POV
I sat in my room, waiting for Ticci-Toby to stop Kristi. I've been here for about thirty minutes already and I was bored out of my mind! I laid in there until I heard someone banging on my door. I opened it to see Ticci-Toby there. He ran in my room and slammed the door shut, staring at me. "Marie's alive, Jeff!" he whispered screamed.
I looked at him, shocked. "What do you mean she's alive?" I asked, wanting answers.
"Masky went to a farm and fought her!" he answered back. "Marie's in a farm and is still alive!" He stopped and frowned a little. "The only problem is that she didn't remember Masky, so she wouldn't remember us."
I somewhat frowned, pacing a little. If she's alive, then we can prove she's innocent, I thought, But it'll be hard since she wouldn't remember us. What're we going to do? I stopped pacing, turning to Toby. "We're going to have to give Marie her memories back," I thought, "We can find things in her room and show them to her. We can do that after we learn what Kristi's hiding."
Toby nodded in agreement, making us go with a new plan.
Kristi's POV
I cursed under my breath, going to my room quickly. That damned brat is still alive! I went to my bed and closed my eyes, forcing myself to sleep. When I opened my eyes, I was in pitched black darkness again. Boss was in front of me, giving me his wicked grin I loved. "You were right," I grumbled, "They're on to me."
"Exactly," he said, "That's why you must get rid of them for good."
I ran my fingers through my hair, adding, "Plus, the first mission wasn't completed. Marie somehow managed to survive. She's still out there alive."
The ground shook a little, meaning Boss was angry. "What?" he shouted, grabbing my arm. He made a few cuts, making me bleed. "What do you mean she's still alive? If she is, then everything will fall apart! All we worked for will be wasted!"
I flinched at this, replying, "I'm sorry, alright! She will be dead sooner or later, so just give me more time!"
"She better be," he snapped, letting go, "If I find that she's still alive or if you're figured out, I'll have to do the most regrettable."
He left, making me afraid of what he'll do.
