Normani POV
Lauren sent me out to go search for decorations and I called Jilly up to see if she wanted to come help.
I met her at this decorating shop I was in, and she came to me with opened arms. "Haven't seen you in a minute," She announced, throwing her hair over her shoulder. "How've you been?"
"I've been super busy with Lauren," I stated, smiling sadly thinking about Lauren's situation. "She's getting better though." I smiled.
"That's good!" She said cheerfully. "You haven't been in the studio the past couple of days, I'm guessing that's why."
I nodded my head. "She really needs someone here for her right now, she's going through a lot, but I see a change." I told her. Lauren has seemed like she was changing. Well at least from what I've seen.
She's much happier and she laughs a lot. Her laugh is very cute.
Whenever I'm around I try my best to stay positive with her. I don't know what she's capable of doing, so I just make sure she's happy at all times. Her happiness is important to so many people and I want her to see that.
"Hey, Jilly?"
"What's up?"
"How do you tell if someone has feelings for you or not?" I asked genuinely, playing with my fingers.
"Well you can't really," she shrugged.
"What do you mean?"
"It's difficult because most people try not to show it, when deep inside they really like you." She stated, looking at the bamboo sticks. "But if they show things that they like you, you should just give it a shot, you never know how things might turn out."
"I mean I want to tell her–" I paused and my eyes widened.
Jilly turned around with a smirk and her brow arched. "Who is this her, you're talking about?" She asked.
"Nobody, no one, it's not important." I said waving my hand dismissively.
"Cmon mani, you can't just think I'm not going to ask you after that." She said, nudging me slightly.
"No, I'm not telling you." I clarified, shaking my head. "You aren't getting an answer out of me. I just need advice from you and that's all."
"How can I give you advice if I don't know who it is?" She questioned.
"Simple, you just did it." I gave a fake smile, and walked passed her and over to the side of the store. "Anyways, do you think Lauren will like this?" I asked, picking up a plant.
"It's not necessary party related," she mentioned.
"It's just for decoration of her place." I asserted. "Just answer the question."
"Yeah, I like it."
"Then we're buying it."
"You changed the subject." She mentioned, noticing how I did change the subject. "Who is this girl? Have you even dated a girl before?"
"No, to be honest," I said turning and looking at her while we were at the register. "And I don't, I never thought I would, but there's something about her." I said, thinking about Lauren.
There was something about her that I liked from the start. People's perception on her is completely not true. Most people see her as this badass girl who doesn't give a shit about what she does, or she's ignorant, but none of it's true.
She's the complete opposite.
Everyone is so quick believe what they see or hear on social media. Then again, they never want to see the good in them. There hasn't been a post about how much Lauren loves her fans, or her family. She's the biggest family girl I know. But of course, that won't make it into the media.
"You got it bad for her Mani," Jilly said, getting in on the passenger seat. "Like really bad."
"I know," I pouted. "I'm whipped."
"I've noticed!" She laughed.
"The problem is, I don't think she feels the same way."
"You never know until you try." She asserted, biting down on her chocolate bar.
"Thing is, I think I got friend zoned."

Lauren's POV
Justin had been helping me set up the house before the party. So far, we were almost done, and everything was turning out perfect. Especially after working for five hours.
"Don't drop it!" He said, watching me struggling hanging up my favorite magazine cover of me. "Lemme help you." He suggested, and grabbed it picture from me.
"You know, I could've done it." I said, breathing heavily.
"By the way you were struggling and how you're breathing hard, it doesn't seem like you could've done it." He smiled, dusting his hands off and he hung it up.
"Whatever." I said rolling my eyes.
"Aw," He said, placing his hands on my hips. "You're so cute when you get irritated you know that." He said.
"I'm not irritated, I just wanted to prove to you that I could hang that up." I said, looking at the picture.
"You don't have to prove anything to me, I know you can do things." He smiled, meeting my gaze. "I just didn't want you to get hurt. Rather have it fall on me then you." He said softly, pecking my lips.
He held the second kiss longer, and I pushed him off of me when I heard the front door open. "Normani's coming." I whispered, walking down the hall.
"Does she know about us?"
"Nope!" I stated. "Hey Mani!"
"Hey," she smiled, placing the bags down. "I got you everything you needed, also I got your house warming gift early." She said, looking through the bags.
She pulled out a small plant and it was so beautiful. "You didn't have to get me anything." I told her, grabbing the plant from her. "But I gotta say, this plant is beautiful."
"It represents peace and happiness. The lady said it's suppose to give a calming feeling." She mentioned, watching me as I placed it down on the shelf.
"Thanks," I smiled. "Everything is almost done, catering should be here any minute, all I have to do is get ready." I exhaled deeply.
"Did you get the drinks already?" Normani asked. I nodded and pointed to the refrigerator. "Cool, we'll start hanging up the decorations." She smiled, looking at Justin and Jilly.
With the help of the others, this wasn't as stressful as I thought it would be.
The party was turning out pretty successful. Everyone was talking, dancing, and nobody seemed to be bored.
"You're a pretty great hostess." Justin said, leaning against the counter top where I was at.
"Thanks, I try." I said, winking at him. I looked around to see if Zayn or a Normani were around, and I turned in front of him. "I don't know, maybe, you could get a little present afterwards for being such a good help." I said, running my fingers up his chest.
"Oh really?" He arched his brow.
"Mmhmm." I hummed, winking at him. I pushed myself off of him and told him I was going to go find Normani.
I searched through the crowd of people for the dark haired girl, but I couldn't find her. There was so many people, I'm pretty sure I had no clue where I was at in my own house.
As I pushed through the crowd of people, I felt a hand wrap around my wrist and turn me around. I saw the dark haired guy, and I met his gaze. "What is this?" Zayn asked, showing me a video of me and Justin outside of the club.
"You have a side piece, what's wrong me having one too?" I asked, brushing passed him.
"Wait," he said, pulling me back to him. "I don't have a side piece." He lied, looking confusedly.
"Really?" I said, reaching in my back pocket. "What's this?" I said, throwing the box at him. "I'm sure Perrie will love it." I finished, walking away from him and going back to search for Normani.
He was the last person I wanted to see tonight. I don't know how he got in, but this party is so big, I'm pretty sure there's people I don't even know here. But right now, I could careless about him.
"Hey," a voice said, and a grip wrapped around my wrist. I turned around and saw Justin's captivating smile, showing his top teeth. "I was looking for you."
"Really? I just saw you not too long ago." I chuckled, looking over his shoulder at the darker girl who was chatting amongst her group of friends.
"Yeah," he laughed. "I just want you to know, that if you want, we can take things slower, just to make you comfortable. I don't want to rush anything between us." He mentioned. "Is that cool with you?" He asked, reassuringly.
"Yeah, it's fine with me." I smiled.
"Good, I want us to work out." He smiled. "Well, I gotta go, my buddy is calling me over. See you later." He said, pecking my cheek before pushing through the crowd of people.
I watched as the sandy brown headed boy went with his friends, and they all hugged as if they haven't seen each other in years.
What he said was interesting. He actually wants to commit to this relationship, but I don't know if I'm ready. What if he's like Zayn in a way, or if this is all a game? I don't want to have to go through that again. I want to be stable, but it's hard to find someone nowadays.
I walked up to Normani's group of friends, the same people that showed up to the studio with her when we first met.
"Hey Lo," She greeted me, pushing her hair out of her face. "This party is hella hype." She said, sipping on her drink.
"Thanks," I smiled, "But I'm not so hyped." I grimaced.
"What's wrong? You can't be down on your party night." She frowned, shoving me slightly.
"I'm not down," I corrected her. "I'm irritated. I bumped to Zayn and he was mad about me and–" I paused, knowing that she doesn't know anything about me and Justin.
"You and who?"
"Nevermind that, but I gave him the ring back. I hope he left." I told her, "I didn't invite him. Do you know who did?" I asked her.
She shrugged. "Not that I know of. You know how people in the music industry are. Everybody has connections with someone in someway."
"True." I frowned, looking around to see if I see him.
Normani tapped me, catching my attention. "Mama, this is your party, have some fun." She winked, dancing on me playfully.
I smiled, and she grabbed my hand and we started dancing. "I'm like, yeah, she's fine wonder when she'll be mine!" She sang, spinning me around. "She walked past, like press rewind! To see that ass one more time!" She slapped my backside, and I gasped, throwing her hand off of it immediately.
"Mani," I laughed, looking at her.
"I'm trying to get you in the spirit. I'm only being helpful." She smiled.
I shook my head, and noticed Jilly had been looking. I frowned and looked back at Normani who had her eyes closed as she danced.
"Lauren, you're such a party pooper." She sighed annoyedly. "Dance with me!" She demanded.
"I can't! I have to go grab something to eat." I mentioned, trying to think of a way to get away from her.
"I know what you can eat." She winked, biting down on her lower lip.
My eyes widened and I shook my head. "You're a drunken mess." I laughed, leaving her and heading towards the kitchen.
I leaned against the counter top, and watched the party. I don't even know half of these people here. Majority of these people aren't even my friends, nor have I worked with them. They probably have no idea who I am.
I checked my phone, and noticed that my dad had called a couple minutes ago, but I'm pretty sure he just wanted to say goodnight. I locked my phone, and sipped on my drink.
Seconds later, the crowd of people oohed and all formed a circle.
Many phones went up in the air, and I wondered what the commotion was about. I pushed through the people, and noticed Justin and Zayn on the ground. Justin had been atop of Zayn throwing punches.
I ran over to him, trying to pick him up off of him. "Justin, stop!" I cried, using all my strength trying to pull him back. A few guys saw me struggling, and came and helped me out.
"Fucking punk!" Zayn cursed with his thick accent, wiping the blood of his lip.
"I'll fucking beat the fuck outta you!" Justin replied, his body was tense.
We let go of Justin, and Zayn walked back towards him and shoved him. "Stay away from my girl."
"Don't be pissed about it bro," Justin chuckled, shrugging his shoulders. "She doesn't want you. She wants me. I'm pretty sure I go down better anyways." He winked.
"Fuck outta here." He said, waving his hand dismissively, him and his crew disappearing through the crowd of people.
Justin had been smiling, and laughing along with his friends, and he turn and met my gaze. His smile quickly faded, when he noticed I wasn't smiling.
I shook my head, and was infuriated with him. "What is wrong with you?" I asked him.
"Lauren," he said softly.
"No, no, no, I have to go. Parties off!" I shouted, pushing everyone out of my way.
I went up to my room, and laid down. I can never have a stable relationship. Well, Camila was my only stable relationship. But now, it's so hard to find someone who actually wants me for who I am, and not just to benefit them. It's almost as if everyone in the industry is like that.
There was a knock on my door, and I noticed Normani standing in the doorway. She gave a small smile, and walked in and sat on the edge of my bed.
"Jilly is kicking everyone out," she mentioned. "Literally. I'm pretty sure she threw someone out the door." She laughed.
I laughed lightly, but that wasn't enough to get out of my mood. "What was that back there anyways? Why did they fight?" She asked.
"I have no idea. I thought Zayn left." I mumbled.
"What was Justin talking about, 'going down on you'?" She asked, using air quotes. "Are you guys?"
I sighed and sat up. "Yes, somewhat. I guess."
She reciprocated my sigh. "Lauren, you can't just do this. This isn't good for you. You need to be stable."
"You know how hard it is to be stable?"
"I understand, but don't be fucking around with people. That's how you get your heart messed up." She stated.
"Like I'm not already messed up,"
"Lauren, why can't you just wait till the perfect someone comes and meets you?" She asked.
"They don't exist."
"It's like you don't want to take my advice at all." She mumbled.
"I'm trying too." I replied. "It's not as easy as it seems when you have people telling you things that make you fall for them."
"So are you and Justin together or no? That's all I need to know."
"Why do you need to know?" I asked.
"I just do, Lauren." She said annoyedly. "Just answer the question." She said somewhat harshly.
I hesitated and I turned my head, looking out the window and noticing all the people leaving the party.
"I don't know. I mean I like him, but I don't want to." I admitted. Normani rolled her eyes and I furrowed my brows. "What's wrong with you?" I asked.
"Nothing, I see you later." She sighed, getting up off the bed. She exited my room, and she seemed to be annoyed, but I don't know why.
It didn't matter anyways, I can't try to solve her problems when I can't solve my own.
-
I haven't gone to the labels office in a couple of weeks, and especially not after my house warming party. Zayn and Justin caused too much commotion and I knew I'd probably get shit from Scooter.
Today, I had to go into the office. Scooter called for a mandatory meeting. As much as I didn't want to go, I knew if I would've said no, I would've been dropped.
I walked into Scooter's office and my publicist was sitting with him. I placed my sunglasses on top of my head, and looked at both of them confusedly. "What's going on?"
"Just, sit." Scooter said, his hand pointing to the seat across from him.
Seconds later, Zayn walks in, and I could feel all my anger building up. He smiled at me, and I turned and looked away, gripping tightly on the arm rest of the chair.
"What the hell is he doing here?" I asked the two across from me.
"Here us out on this," Scooter started looking over at my publicist. "We never knew you two dated, and once we saw that video, unfortunately, we thought of an idea." He mentioned.
"And that idea is what?" I leaned forward and asked.
"You two date, but only for a publicist stunt." My publicist recommended.
I leaned back and shook my head. "No, no, no. I'm not even going to fake date him. I can't stand him, this is pointless. He's an ignorant son of a–"
Scooter cut me off, holding his hand in front of him. "Save it for later Lauren." He stated, exhaling afterwards and turning and looking at Zayn. Zayn had been covering up his smile with his index finger and his thumb rubbing the stubble of his beard. Scooter raised his brows, and laughed along with Zayn. "Are you okay with this Zayn? It's for the benefit of the both of you." He added.
"Benefit me how?" I asked, slamming my hand against the table. "Getting slut shamed twenty four seven? That's such a benefit." I said sarcastically.
"Lauren, shush." Scooter ordered. "What do you say? This could boost your album sales. It'll also be a great way for your album to get bigger recondition." He raised his brows.
"I'm down," he smirked, glancing over at me. "It'll be amazing," he said, placing his hand on top of mine.
I quickly snatched my hand away from his touch, and rolled my eyes. All Scooter wanted was for Zayn to get big and it wasn't fair. He pays me no attention at all whatsoever. He hasn't helped me with anything. His whole world is Zayn Malik.
"Cool," my publicist smiled. "Tonight you'll be on the red carpet with Zayn at the VMA's. There, you'll announce that you two are officially a couple." She said, smiling at the both of us.
"Exciting." He said happily, waving his hands.
I rolled my eyes, and pushed myself out of the chair, exiting the office. I couldn't believe all this was for him. Neither one of them wanted to help me. They just want his album to be number one. I swear it's all about the money with this label.
As I was living the record label, I noticed Normani had been in the lobby with Jilly and her little entourage. We made eye contact, and Normani quickly looked away from me and I reciprocated. I don't know what was wrong with her, but ever since the party, she's been avoiding me.
When I got home, I had already got a text from Scooter saying it was time for my glams. So I had no time to rest. I jumped back into my car, and met up with my team at the hotel they stayed at. At this point, I was beyond frustrated, I couldn't stand anyone. I didn't speak at all.
"You look amazing," my makeup artist said, looking about my outfit before I left. "Good luck." She smiled.
I furrowed my brows, wondering why she'd tell me good luck, but I brushed it off once I saw Zayn walking towards me. "Look at you." He spoke, looking at my outfit.
"Shut up," I spat, rolling my eyes and brushing past him.
"Just being friendly," he said, getting in on the other side of the car.
We had an awkward ride. He often stared at me, only to frustrate me which I hated. I turned and looked out the window, hoping that would stop me from looking at him. Unfortunately, he didn't allow that.
"Listen here Lauren," He started, placing his finger on my chin, turning my head towards him. "I don't want to do this either, but this is for my album sales, and if you fuck this up, it's not going to be pretty for you afterwards."
"Fuck off," I said, waving my hand dismissively and rolling my eyes. "I could careless about your album sales. Just like how you didn't care about me." I said, getting out of the car once we pulled up to the carpet.
My publicist came up to us as well as Scooter and they smiled at us. "Show time." My publicist said cheerfully, adjusting my clothing.
Zayn held his hand out in front of me, and I looked at it disgustedly. My publicist grabbed my hand and placed it into Zayn's and he locked our fingers.
I cringed in disgusted and shook my head. This was a living nightmare.
We got down to the carpet and ever paparazzi was shouting at us, telling us to look at them. "Kiss on the cheek! Kiss on the cheek!" One demanded, and I shook my head.
"Hell no," I told him between my teeth as I smiled.
"Do it."
"You're fucking insane."
Zayn's lips touched my cheek, and I grimaced. I instantly wanted to throw him off of me, but I knew that would start a scene. So I just went along with it.
We went further down the carpet, where the interviews started. Scooter pushed us towards this one interview, and they already started with the dating questions.
Wow! You guys have made it official!
"I had to, I couldn't hold it in any longer." Zayn laughed, squeezing my side.
It seems like just yesterday, Lauren was all over Justin, what's that about?
"People make mistakes sometimes." I shrugged.
So you're saying Justin was a mistake?
"No, I'm saying what I did was wrong." I clarified.
You guys are like the it couple. The Brad and Angelina! Any possible collaborations again, now that you two are together? Possibly a whole album together?
"Um, maybe in the future. We'll definitely look into it." Zayn smiled.
Quick, before you two go, what do you like most about each other?
"I like how Lauren is very passionate about things, and she's very smart. Beautiful girl." He smiled, looking at me.
The interviewer then looked at me. "Um, what I like about Zayn is," I paused, knowing that he's a terrible person inside and out. "He's, very, honest and upfront about things. He'll never lie to anybody." I smirked.
The interviewer smiled, and we went along the carpet. "You're so honest." Zayn said.
"I lied." I winked.
We walked into the arena and we were lead to our seats. I had been sitting not to far from Justin which was awkward. He was in front of me, but a couple seats down. He turned and looked, and I quickly looked away. When I turned back around, I noticed he had still be looking at me, and his gaze dropped to Zayn's hand that was placed on my knee. He shook his head, and looked forward. His jaw clinched, and he adjusted himself in his seat.
It was clearly obvious he had been mad. I couldn't do anything about it.
The event started, and multiple times, I watched artist perform, accept their awards, and present. I was probably the only artist in the building that hadn't won, or been nominated for anything. It sucked, since I wanted to be up there, but I was the one who messed up.
It was around the time the award shows started wrapping up, and that was for song of the year. Finally.
When the presenter was going off the names of the nominees, I heard my name and I was shocked. It was All Eyes On Me. I didn't think that song would get nominated, but the fans loved it.
It was such an intense moment between the nominees. The arena was quiet, and when the presenter opened the envelope, my heart raced faster.
"And the winner is, All Eyes On Me! Zayn Malik featuring Lauren Jauregui, Normani Kordei, and Jilly Anais!"
My jaw dropped, and I looked over at Zayn. I flung my arms around him, squeezing him tightly. We locked fingers and walked up to the stage together. The presenter handed the moonman to Zayn, and we all hugged the other artist on the song.
Zayn gave his speech and I stayed off the side, while Normani spoke.
Afterwards, we walked off stage and headed backstage. Everyone was cheering for a second, and we all got quiet. I looked at Normani, and her and Jilly started walking faster and left me and Zayn.
I hadn't spoke either, and Zayn still had been happy about his moonman.
-
After the show, fans were outside the garage of the arena and they were calling us. I signed autographs and took pictures with them, and they didn't seemed to be bothered by me.
"Lauren!" One called me before I left. I walked back over to her, ignoring security since I noticed she had tears in her eyes.
"Hey babe, don't cry!" I said, smiling and immediately grabbing her hands once I saw her tears slowly fall.
"I promised myself I wouldn't," she chuckled, wiping her tears. "I don't know if you remember me, you probably don't but that's okay, but I met you and Camila at your album signing. I was the one that waited outside the signing for you since I couldn't get in," she laughed, I nodded, somewhat remembering the girl. "But I told you how you helped me get through my toughest times, and how I was still trying to overcome them, and you gave me this necklace," she said, showing me the butterfly necklace. "And you said, 'when you feel like giving up, look at this as a reminder that I said not to give up,' and you put it around my neck." She mentioned. Security tugged on my arm, and I pushed them away, wanting to stay and listen to her. "Now, I overcame my struggles, and I notice that you don't seem yourself. Not in a disrespectful way, but I notice you aren't happy as much. And I want you to have this. This is a reminder for you not to give up and that if I can get through what I went through, you can too. I want to see you happy and I pinky promise you that I'll be here by your side every step of the way." She said genuinely, holding out her pinky.
I had tears in my eyes, and I wrapped my pinky around hers and flung my arms around her, squeezing her tightly. "Thank you beautiful, I love you." I told her while I hugged her.
When I hugged her it was something I needed. A hug from someone that loved me back, just as much as I loved them.
I slide the necklace in my pocket, and when I left, I waved bye to her. Her words really touched me, and I never knew anyone could actually care for me as much as she did.

Normani's POV
I saw Lauren at the after party. She was hanging out with some people, but they didn't look familiar. I wanted to go over there to her, but the thought of her lying just made me so angry.
She kept the fact that she was with Justin from me and she also lied to me, saying she wasn't going to get back with Zayn. I just wish she'd truly see what's best for her and know that it's me. I've been trying to hint to her, but she doesn't seem to get it.
But, she doesn't want to be with me, I know that for a fact. I'm like a "sister" to her.
"Mani, you're not drinking tonight? That's odd." Jilly pointed out, sipping on her drink while she danced.
"I'm not in the mood." I shrugged, my eyes still on Lauren. "Kinda want to go back to the hotel." I smiled sadly, noticing as she was all over this one girl.
"You just won two awards, and you are all pouty?" She said in disbelief. "You're usually so excited and all over the place, but you're just sitting here at the bar." She chuckled.
"I'm not in mood." I repeated, frustratedly this time.
She looked in my direction and noticed I was looking at Lauren. "You're always so heart eyes for her. When aren't you looking at her? Can't you see, she fucks with to many people." She said.
"No, she's just confused. You don't know her heart." I said defensively.
I watched as Lauren latched her arms around the girl, and the girl leaned her head back, and the next minute, you see them heading towards the bathroom.
"She doesn't know her heart either," she chuckled.
"What's your problem?" I finally asked, looking at her. "Every time I bring her up, you catch the biggest attitude and I don't know why and I'm kind of tired of it." I said bluntly.
"It's clearly obvious you like her,"
"Yes and?"
"She is no good for you Mani! Don't you see? All she's gonna do is screw you over, just like how she does everyone else!"
"You don't know her like I do," I said softly, narrowing my eyes at her. "She hasn't told you things that she tells me."
"How do you know she isn't lying?" She asked, arching her brow.
"Because I," I gulped, not knowing if she is or not after what I just saw.
How do I know she isn't leading these guys on? How do I know she isn't making up the issue with Zayn. When I did first meet her, she was with Keana, I think, but she kissed me? Was she just screwing her over?
"Exactly." She said pointing her finger. "You need to stay away from her at all costs." She suggested.
I frowned and noticed Lauren storm out of the club and to her car. I knew that walk, she wasn't happy.

Lauren's POV
I threw my notepad against my wall after I finished ripping out all the pages. Crumbled up paper was sprawled out all over my floor, as well as glass from the beer and wine bottles.
I walked into my hallway, and punched my plaques and framed pictures of my favorite magazine covers. Sobbing as I yanked the picture down. I felt arms wrap around me, and I voice in my ear was telling me to calm down.
Slowly, we sat on the floor, and I cried in their arms. I calmed down, and recognized the voice who had been shushing me and it had been Normani.
I pulled away, and looked into her eyes. She smiled, and hugged me tightly. "What happened mama?" She asked, pushing a strand of my hair behind my ear.
"I couldn't take it anymore," I sniffled, wiping my nose, but stopping once I noticed my hand had been bleeding.
"Hold on," she said, quickly getting up and searching for something to clean me up. "Here, lemme help you. This may burn a bit." She said, pouring peroxide on my cut. I winced, and she held my hand tightly as she cleaned the cut. I cried in pain, as she applied pressure. "This is pretty bad, you might need stitches." She said.
"No," I cried, pulling away. "I don't need stitches."
"Lauren, it's a gash in your hand." She pointed out, wrapping the cloth around it. "It'll get infected."
"Leave me alone," I said, pulling away from her.
"I'm trying to help you."
"I don't need help."
"Lauren, you're only saying that because you think no one wants to help you. But I do. I want you to get better. And this cut, is going to get infected if you don't get some stitches. I care about you, that's why I'm doing this."
I furrowed my brows once she said those words. She was the last person I thought that would care about me. Honestly. Especially after what happened.
She helped me walk to her car, and she rushed to the hospital. When I got in, I was the first person to be seen, since they said I didn't look too well.
"Lauren, Lauren, are you here? Are you with us?" The doctor asked, pointing a flashlight in my eyes.
"What the hell, yes I am." I said, sitting up on the bed, but the nurses pushing me back down. "Don't fucking touch me!" I cursed at them, swiping their hands away.
"They still haven't worn out," the doctor said softly. "She might have to stay over night." He said looking at Normani.
They had been figures. I couldn't really see anything. Everything was like a blur. The only thing I could do, was hear what was going on.
"Maybe, if they wear off in a couple of hours, she can be released. We just want to watch her, she has a lot in her system." He told her.
"Can I stay in here then?" Normani asked.
"Of course!" He said.
It seemed like the doctor and the nurses exited the room and it was just me and Normani. She had started to sing, and she played in my hair. The next minute, I had been asleep.
-
Normani's POV
The fact that Lauren had taken antidepressants tonight hurt me. Supposedly they had mixed with the alcohol in her system, that's why the doctor wanted to see her right away. That was the first thing they found, and they wanted to get it out.
They said she might be here till the morning, so I went to her place and grabbed her a few blankets and clothes as well as book, since we can't get Netflix in a hospital.
When got to her house, I took a better look and noticed she had paper all over the place and bottles everywhere. Glass was everywhere and she had blood on her pictures. Like she got mad at herself.
I originally came to talk to her about what me and Jilly talked about, but I knew it wouldn't be good time. Especially now, when she needs someone the most.
I laid next to her, and played with the stands of her hair, as she slept. She looked like an angel, but hell, she definitely wasn't an angel a couple hours ago.
Her eyes fluttered open, and she stretched. She looked around, confused, but rested her head back down and groaned.
"Hey," I said softly.
"Hi. I'm sorry you had to see me like that." She said, covering her eyes with her hands and shaking her head.
"It's okay, if it wasn't for me, you probably would've been at home suffering." I said. "How are you feeling?"
"My hand hurts." She winced.
"The pain will go away, wanna tell me what happened?" I asked softly.
"My thoughts got to me, that's all I remember and I remember your voice, but nothing else." She stated. "I'm so sorry Normani."
"Don't worry, as long as you're okay." I smiled.
Minutes later, the doctor came in to check on her. She was cleared to go, and we packed up and headed to my place since she didn't want to relive the nightmare.
She climbed in bed after taking a shower and cuddled me. "Thank you Normani. I mean it." She stated. "If it wasn't for you, I don't know what would've happened to me."
"No problem. I want you safe." I told her, kissing her head.
