Jack & My Girl
"What are you doing?" Elliot asked once he entered the room, his eyebrow was raised.
Olivia had head phones over her belly as she rubbed it. "Celeste is listening to some classical music."
He joined them on the bed and smiled st Olivia. "Why don't I just sing to her?"
She raised her eyebrow and let out a laugh. "You're not letting my baby suffer."
Elliot let out a gasp. "Matter of fact, Liv. James and Jade loved it when I sing to them."
"If you mean they cried once you started singing than yeah they loved it."
He rolled his eyes. "I want her to get used to my voice." He began to bend down so he was close to her belly, taking off the headphones.
"You talk to her all the time." She replied to him.
"That's why I should start singing more often." His eyelashes began to flutter as he pouted his lips, hoping this expression would make her say yes.
She rolled her eyes. "Fine."
He beamed and then kissed her stomach. "Alright, baby girl. It's your daddy and he's about to rock your little world."
Olivia laughed lightly.
"I've got sunshine on a cloudy day when it's cold outside I've got the month of May." He quietly sang off key, a small on his face while he stared at her belly. "I guess you'd say what can make me feel this way, my girl."
She continued to stare at Elliot, wondering how she didn't fall for him sooner. Everything he did for her was out of love ever since they were children she knew he loved her, all those times she admired his huge heart but never in this way. Olivia didn't know why she was running away, maybe she was afraid that it was too out of control.
"I've got so much honey the bees envy me-"
Suddenly her phone began ringing, she reached for her phone and looked at the caller ID. A frown immediately meeting her lips.
Elliot noticed. "Who is it?"
She continued to stare at her phone, unsure if she should answer or not. Quickly she declined the call but once she did that it began ringing again.
Elliot moved over so that he could see who it was. It was Jack, his expression harden.
Finally, she answered it. "Hello."
"Princess." He breathed in that heavenly British accent which caught Olivia's attention in the first place.
She could feel her heart ache at the sound of his voice she used to love so much, hatred only filled her. "Don't call me that."
"I know you're mad at me but I love you." He replied. "And I miss you."
Olivia could hear the lie dripping of his lips, she cursed angrily in her mind.
"Oh please, Jack. Am I the fifth girl if you've said that to today?" She spat.
He didn't reply, she knew he was probably butting his tongue from talking back to her. After a couple of moments he spoke up, "I heard that you're pregnant."
"You're a little late, Jack. It's been 7 months."
Elliot was right beside her, listening quietly. He was trying to hard not to burst out in anger.
"Look, princess. I made mistake, I shouldn't have left you." He started. "I've changed and I'm better man now for you and for our baby."
She scoffed. "The day you actually become a changed man is the day pigs fly."
"Believe me."
"Why are you doing this now?" She was actually hurt.
"I realized that you're the best thing that ever happened to me and I was stupid to not keep you-"
"Save it, Jack. I don't want to hear it." She interrupted him angrily. "I'm happy now, I have someone who actually honours me, cares for me and loves me. I know he will be a great father to my daughter."
He laughed like she was joking. "You found someone? I bet he's just like me."
She let out of sigh of annoyance. "Actually, he's not. He's nothing like you which is why I am happy."
"What's his name?"
"None of your business. Why are we still talking anyway-"
"It's your little best friend, isn't it?" He scoffed. "Is he there? Let me talk to him. I knew he was just waiting to steal you away from me."
"Don't call me ever again." She demanded in a vicious tone.
"You can't stay away from me, princess."
"Screw you."
"You already did, baby."
And with that she hung up the phone, her eyes filling up with tears.
Elliot was fuming with anger, his whole calm demeanour changing. But once he looked at Olivia he stopped, knowing that he had to be there for her.
"I-I can't believe I ever thought I loved that jerk." She sniffed as her tears fell down her cheeks.
He pulled her close and kissed the side of her temple. "I've got a sweeter song than the birds in the tree." He began singing. "Well, I guess you'd say, what can make me feel this way?"
She wiped her tears and looked up at him, a smile now forming on her lips.
"My girl." He sang quietly, now looking into her eyes. "Talking about my girl." And with that he moved in closer, close enough to kiss her.
Her eyes fluttered to his lips, hoping that he would just kiss her but she didn't want to break their rule.
"I told you I should sing more often." He pulled away and grinned, sad that he didn't kiss her but he knew that he shouldn't. He didn't want to break their rule.
It was a little too late for that.
