Chapter 6
Just to warn you all this chapter is not funny (sorry 1WonderWoman)
Cassie's POV
"I thought you said that your "friends" house was close." Tracy complains
"When I said close I meant a couple miles away." I say
"Miles?" Angela complains
"Yes, we have walked before you know." I tell them
I keep looking behind my shoulder to make sure no monster was following us, we almost got attacked last night, but the fire scared whatever it was away.
We walk until lunchtime we reach Wyoming, with a whole lot of complaining. Good thing we are daughters of... Nevermind.
"Hey Valencia! Liz says "I know this town!"
"Yeah Uncle Larry and Aunt Claire live here!" Herme says excitedly
"Uh huh." I say
Their farm is close by so we walk to their farm and when we reach their house we walk down their long and dirty driveway.
We spot Uncle Larry immediately he is coming back from the barn with a cartoon of milk, all the girls run up to him apparently not tired anymore.
"Hello girls what a pleasant surprise!" Uncle Larry says surprised
"Hi Uncle Larry!" We all say as we hug him
"I was just about to go inside and have some of Aunt Claire's cookies." He says
"Ohhhh mesa want cookies." Tracy says as if she is in a trance.
"Then let's go!"
We all run up to the house and find Aunt Claire in the kitchen decorating cookies.
"Hi Aunt Claire!" Angela says
She turns around and smiles "Hi oh I haven't seen you guys in forever come give me a hug."
We all hug her, and then she lets everyone have a cookie when she goes to put the decorations away the girls sneak another one and I give them a look. They all freak out and put the cookies back.
"So why did you guys come by?" Uncle Larry asks , with his blue eyes shining
"We're going to Michigan." Tracy says
"Oh that's nice were did you guys live before, Colorado?" Uncle asks
"Idaho." I say
"Oh that's right."
"So it's getting late how bout you and Larry put all the animals to bed, eat some dinner then you guys can go to bed." Auntie says
"Okay." Liz says
"Yeah!" Angela squeals
We walk down to the barn and put all the animals away.
We were about halfway done when we heard a noise coming from the hay loft.
"What was that?" Herme ask scared
"It's the boggy man!" Tracy screams
The girls scream and run out if the barn.
Good their safe
"Uncle Larry?" I call behind my shoulder
"Just putting the chickens away." He calls
"Okay I'm almost done with the cows so you can go back in."
I grab my dagger since I didn't take off my backpack yet I still had it with me.
I climb the ladder and open the hatch.
I don't see anything yet, I crawl into the loft and shut the door, I lift up my dagger to try to get some light in the room.
In the corner I see a dark figure shuffling in the darkness, it is screeching and I approach it to see that it is a harpy.
This harpy has black wings, long fangs, and creepy yellow eyes so I know that it is an evil harpy.
It screeches again and moves toward me, since the ceiling is low, I have to bend over a bit.
I move closer to it, it pauses for a couple sends. Then it leaps through the darkness and lands on me, I fall to the ground and stab it.
It almost bites me but I punch it in the jaw, it manages to scratch my arm and I yell out in pain.
I roll over and stab it in the chest, quickly.
It disappears in a cloud out dust and I whip it's blood off if my dagger on my shirt.
I sit down and think for a second then get up and jump down to the ground. I finish putting the cows away and walk back to the house.
By now it is darker out, and when I walk inside they are just serving dinner. I go to sit by Tracy but she tells me the seat is reserved for her imaginary friend so I sit in between Angela and Uncle Larry
"Just in time Cassie." Auntie says
"What took you?" Uncle asks
"One of the cows wouldn't move." I lie
"Which one?" Tracy asks "Was it Batman or Pricilla?"
"It was neither of them." I say
"Well I made homemade Mac and cheese because I know you guys live it!" Auntie says
"Yeah!" We all exclaim and dive into it. Within a couple minutes it's all gone.
"Well I think you guys should get some sleep." Auntie says
"You can help me round the farm tomorrow." Uncle says
"Yes!" Tracy and Liz say
Angela and Herme do their Star Wars fist pump thing and I just smile and hope that we don't get attacked again.
