21 - The Meeting.
"Mom."
"My, you look exactly like me!" She looks over and sees Jesse, scared to come over. "And you look exactly like James."
"You didn't have to knock him out...he wasn't going to hurt you," I say defensively.
She gives me a half smile. "But he works for your father, honey. He'll be fine."
"He's also my boyfriend."
"Well, he is handsome, and it seems like he cares a great deal for you. But at the moment, we need to go."
Jesse walks up beside me as our mom starts pulling me toward the SUV with tinted windows.
Another woman is driving. The drive takes a few hours. It was akwardly silent. I thought I would be more excited to see my mom, or Jesse would be. I guess whacking the guy that helped you meet isn't such a good first impression.
Once we do get to our destination, I have a hard time getting up. I'm exhausted.
I get out and start to slump toward the door. I stop abruptly. "Something isn't right."
Tori turns around. "I know you're scared, it's a big change. It'll be ok."
"You don't have to treat me like I'm five."
"And I don't think you are, come on."
I turn to Jesse and whisper in his ear. "Follow my lead of something goes wrong."
We step inside into a long hallway. It's bleak, white. I don't see anyone yet. We go into a big room.
That's when I see them. I pull Tori's gun out of the back of her waist band, Jesse does the same to the girl that accompanied Tori.
I press it to my forehead. "You should really hide your guns better. I will pull the trigger."
"How the hell taught her how to use a gun," Tori asks, like it's Jim's fault. She turns to me. "You don't know how to use a gun. It's a bluff."
I smirk. "And who do you think taught me?"
It comes to Jim. "Dammit Sherlock. I should have killed that bastard when I had the chance." He takes a step toward me, I take a step back. "Put the gun down, we can talk about this like civilized people."
I laugh. "Yeah, cus' that's what we are, civilized people!
"This has been going on for far too long. The families problems need to be settled now."
Jim swallows and puts his hands up. "Just put the gun down, and we can."
I put the gun down and so does Jesse. But it all happened too fast, even though it was in slow motion. As soon as the gun was at my side, someone came up beside me, and pulled my arm behind my back to try and make me drop the gun.
I looked to Jesse, and Sebastian has tackled him. My finger was still in the trigger, so I pulled it.
I instantly felt the bullet tear into the side of my leg, making me fall to the ground.
Jesse screams beside me. "You're fucking crazy!"
Through short breaths I say, before anyone can react, "the damn things I do to make a point!"
The wound was bleeding heavily. Sebastain had already ripped off his
t-shirt and was starting to wrap it around my leg.
I look back a bit and see the person that had tried to get the gun from me was Sherlock. Oh, Sherlock.
Jim and Tori were overtop of me, yelling at each other and cursing.
Sebastain was about to pick me up, but Jim stopped him. Then Sherlock and their bickering ensued.
"Would you all just shut up!" I look over to the doorway and its Asher. "God, you can't even stop fighting for ten minutes to help your daughter that just shot her self and is bleeding to death. I know that's exactly what Jesse and Charlie are thinking! I'll take her."
Asher walks over and picks me up. Another woman leads is the the hospital section of the hideout.
I slowely drift away in Asher's arms, holding onto his neck.
