By the time I got back to Rose the story had dropped. It had a while since the incident and TSR had picked up the story.
I walked into Rose's room where she was waist deep in her phone, she didn't even see me come in.
"Already?"
"Yea. She did waste no time."
"She'll be fired for this right?"
"I don't know mamas, possibly."
"I think her phone broke before the video come save to her iCloud so maybe were in the clear. Plus don't you have a publicist or someone that handles these things?"
"Yeah, he handles shit behind the scenes though but I'm sure I'll be getting a call soon. For now though, that Instagram?"
"I don't want to."
"Baby, please."
"Is that smart? We look guilty if we do that."
"It's not about that it's about your postpartum depression. You don't need that."
"I forgot about that."
"Yeah so just please so it until I can get a grip on what comes out and maybe do an interview to clear our names."
"Can I be there?"
"For the interview? If you want to."
"Any word on a nurse for baby Bryson?"
"You."
"Huh?"
"You. You're a nurse baby, you know what you're doing. We never had to hire Kay. Heat of the moment fucked us." I laughed causing her to chuckle
"We're so dumb." She laughed a bit harder before clutching her incision
"Maybe someone from your job can come by and check on you from time to time."
"No, if something is wrong I'll tell you."
"I'm gonna start working on another album soon. I won't always be there."
"This isn't the time for that baby. We need you right now."
"That's my passion. I have to juggle the two. You guys are my very first priority of course, it's something I need to do to let off some steam."
"Write it first. And we can bounce ideas off one another like we did in highschool."
"We'll try baby. The studio may be able to wait if this works."
"Do you still make beats?"
"I can."
"This should work then. Album #2 on the way. But baby I know it's early but do you think I'll be able to have another baby?"
"Baby Bryson ain't enough?" I fake pouted at her
"No no he is baby. He's perfect. But I could barely hold him, ya know? You spoke to the doctor while I was sleeping both times... did he talk about that or even mention it?"
"We can ask."
"No. I want to hear it from you. Doctors say these so unemotionally, this is huge to me. I want to hear it in a sincere voice please. "
I tilted my head at her slightly.
"Did you hear something while you were sleeping?"
"I knew holding a child was a huge risk to me before I was even pregnant and I did it. I wasn't suppose to have children at all and he's here. So is there still a chance I can have another child?"
"Baby....it's not likely. But as long as we're able we'll try. I promise."
"I heard something like that while sleeping. I was so heavily sedated I couldn't open my eyes or get myself to move but when I heard your voice I figured you were trying to get answers, so I had to hear it from you. [short silence] Baby I know you already have a family but this is something huge to me. Having a big family is a my most precious dream, especially after my parents passing. If I would've had a sister or a brother, I wouldn't have felt so alone, ya know? I want to pump so much love into my babies and hopefully that....hole in my heart I can't seem to fill after my parents passed will be filled up once more. [sigh]"
"Baby you have a family too now. Pump all that love into Bryson. Your family isn't just Bryson and I, it's Harley too."
She gave a lip smile but I could tell that she felt I didn't understand. Hers eyes watered as she started down at her hands but no tears fell.
"My father always told me to live in the present. The past and future only exist in your mind. I wish it were that simple." She laughed lightly
"But he's right." She added
"You alright mama?"
"I'll be better once my babies are in my arms."
"Babies?"
"You and Bryson. You give me peace of mind. Come lay with me."
