Minho got out of the slammer early in the morning, just after I got out of my room. "Good morning." I greeted, almost a whisper. I don't even know if he heard me, if he did, he's totally ignoring me. "Minho," I prolonged his name in distress. "Stop ignoring me." I nagged, pulling on the sleeves of his shirt. He quickly shook my hand off, staring daggers at me. I sighed heavily and turned around, about to leave, when an idea struck me.

Nothing gets to him more than jealousy.

But would he even be jealous?

I mean, maybe he's ignoring me because he's already jealous. I'm not even doing anything yet! And as far as I know, he can't act like that since he's not my, you know, boyfriend. I'm not even fifty percent sure that he likes me. But he touched me with his lips, does that mean that he kind of likes me?

Oh my god Minho, what have you done to me?

"Maybe I'll just greet Thomas a good morning, who knows, he might actually say it back." I say aloud to particularly no one. I felt a hand grab my wrist, turning me around so fast. "Stop do-"

"Are we guys leaving or what?" Thomas intervened, an apple in his hand. I pulled my hand away from Minho, walking towards Thomas. If he won't talk to me, then fine. Do you really want him not to talk to you?

Okay brain, maybe this is another way of getting him to talk to me.

"Good morning." I smiled. "Where'd you get that?" I asked, shifting my attention to the red, juicy apple in his hands. "I got the last one, you can have it if you want." He pushed the apple towards me, a small bite already on the side.

I was about to accept the succulent apple when a hand suddenly yanked it away. "Oh, the last one? Thanks, Thomas. You're so kind." Minho chuckled before sinking his teeth into the fruit. Kinda worked.

We continued walking to the entrance of the maze, all ready with our backpacks intact. "Okay, we'll be going back to that new part, we might find something." Minho said, starting to run fast. I kept up, running beside him while Thomas ran behind us. "I hope we find something. You know, anything." I said, yet his eyes stayed focused on the road, not even glancing at me.

Is this because I didn't say welcome last night?

I laughed bitterly. "Wanna play that game, huh? Fine." I slowed a little until I ran beside Thomas. "Asshole." I muttered under my breath. "What?" Thomas piped. "Nothing, nothing." I plastered a forced smile on my face.

We took a few more lefts and rights before we reached an unfamiliar place.

"Woah." Minho said with a small smile. He hasn't been here before too, maybe. "Have you been here before?" I asked him. He went on as if he didn't hear me, but I didn't miss the way his jaw clenched when I turned to Thomas instead. "It's only a dead end anyway."

The device in Minho's backpack, the one he got from the dead griever, started to beep. He quickly pulled it out of the pocket, holding it unsurely with in his hands. "Why is it--"

The wall blocking the path I didn't even know was there moved upward, startling the three of us. Two more walls got out of the way, and a hole opened on the final wall. A touchpad was beside it, a series of numbers on it, as if requesting a password.

"This is where the grievers hide at night!" I shouted in realization. "If this is their way out, this could also be our way out!" My happiness didn't last long as the ground started to shake violently. "Run!" Minho ordered and grabbed my arm, pulling me with so much force I almost stumbled on my own feet. The walls started to drop back down, and I was scared out of my fucking head. Minho's grip was wildly snatched away, and suddenly I felt lost.

The tall walls started closing one by one, and I tried so hard to chase the still open ones. "Nicole! Run faster!" Minho's voice rang through the chaos. I moved my feet as fast as I could, and as fast as I ever did. A hand grabbed my arm and we were running out of that section.

"Shuck, you okay?" Thomas asked, equally as exhausted as me. I could only nod in response as we still ran our fastest back to the open doors.

We reached the glade, and I have never felt more relieved in my entire life. Minho's hand still didn't let go of my arm, holding me tight as we walked in the glade. "Finally, we found something." Thomas whispered. I slowly ripped my arm away from Minho's grasp, and he seemed to realize because he quickly dropped it like it was hot.

"I'm hungry, let's go." He said. "I thought you weren't talking to me?" I asked, a bit of pride evident in my tone. He scoffed before looking at Thomas. "Thomas? Let's eat?"
