"Let go of her hand." Minho grabbed my wrist, pulling me away from Terrence. I groaned a little as he tried to pull me up. "Minho, she's getting hurt." Terrence said. Minho loosened his grip on my wrist and glared at Terrence. "Shut up, slinthead."
Minho pulled me up, and to just end their fight, I stood up and let him drag me. When we got to the Homestead, I roughly pulled away from him. "What the hell is your problem?" "That shuckface is my problem!" He shouted, turning around to look at me. "Why do you even care?" He walked towards me, and I backed up 'till I hit a wall. He placed his hands on the wall either side of me, staring intently into my eyes. He opened his mouth to say something, but closed it again. He sighed and looked away. "That greenie's been here for a month and you're letting him try to get in your pants!" I gasped slightly. My blood boiled at his words, so I raised my hand and slapped him across the face, leaving a big red mark on his cheek.
Get into my pants? I know he fucking likes me but goddamn it, I'm not that kind of girl! And if Minho thinks that I am, well I don't think I want to be his friend anymore. I pushed his arm down and walked away, holding back the tears that wanted so badly to fall.
"You're walking away? What, are you guilty? Do you wanna get in his pants, too?" He screamed continuously as he followed me. I walked back to my room without a word, and before I shut the door, I met Minho's gaze. "We," I gestured to us both. "Are not friends anymore. Forget that you even knew me, asshole."
I collapsed on my bed, closing my eyes in a hurry to sleep.

I woke up the next day eager to start running until I remembered who I run with. God, I don't wanna run today. Or ever.
I opened the box of clothes that were sent up for me, trying to find something to wear. Something shiny hit my eye. I picked it up, it was a small injection-like thing with the words 'PROPERTY OF WCKD' printed on it. I wonder what this does. I removed the cap of the syringe and placed it on my skin. I pushed it a little mo--
"Hey wake up, you're bloody late!" Newt shouted from outside the door. I sighed and recapped the syringe, placing it in the box.
"Yeah, yeah I'm coming." I opened the door and looked at Newt, he's doing much better now. He now limps and has a hard time walking, but other than that he's perfectly fine. He also became second-in-command to Alby. "Minho and the others are already waiting for you, those bloody shucks didn't even wake you up themselves."
"Thanks Newt." I smiled and walked towards Minho. "Sorry I'm late. Let's go." Ben looked at me quizically. "Woke up on the wrong side of the bed?" He chuckled. "Shut the fuck up, will you?" Minho didn't even acknowledge me. Do I want him to? He didn't even glance. Well, do I want him to glance?
I shook the thoughts off my mind and started running to the entrance of the maze.
The same euphoric feeling took over me as I dashed and turned inside the maze, I don't know why running made me so happy, but it did.
Things were going smooth and normal, until I heard it.
That sound.
That fucking familiar mechanical sound.
"Do you hear that?" I asked as soft as a whisper. "Hear what?" Ben replied. The sounds got louder, and his eyes widened. "But the sun's up!" "We gotta get out of here." I said before Minho started dashing off into the maze, with us following behind him.
The mechanical sound got louder and louder, until it abruptly stopped. "Is it gone?" Ben asked. Right after he asked, a loud thump emerged from behind us. Then the mechanical sounds continued. "Run!" I screamed and started to move my feet at impossible speed. The Griever went after us, its metal legs scratching the concrete floor.
"I don't know this part of the maze yet!" Minho shouted as he ran, turning his head a few times to see if we were okay. "But just keep running!" He added. My childish side showed through and I ignored him, even though we were facing a life and death situation right now.
The Griever was fast on its feet, and we were exhausted. We kept running at our max speeds until the worst happened, we hit a dead end. "Shuck."
The Griever appeared before us, and I tried my best to be brave. I felt a hand on my wrist pull me softly, so I looked up and met Minho's gaze. He pulled me behind him, as if to keep me safe. I shook his hand away but stayed where I am.
The creature attacked, pinning Minho to the ground. I was quick on my actions and impulsively tried to push away the Griever, as if it was going to do anything. One of its big legs lifted up and hit me with so much force that I came flying to the opposite wall. "Nicole!" I heard Ben scream. "Minho," I weakly said. "Help Minho."
Ben's face contorted in sadness. "I'm sorry Nicole." He muttered before dashing off. "Ben, no! Wait!" I stood up and tried to call to him, but he continued running off. My attention turned to Minho, who managed to crawl away from the monster.
"Nicole! Are you hurt?" He asked as he ran towards me. "No, I'm okay, but we have to--" The Griever raised its tail, attached to it was a thick, needle like thing. I pushed Minho out of the way, and pain instantly spread from my stomach to my body. My eyes went blurry, but I saw the monster start to run away. "Nicole!" Was the last thing I heard before I blacked out.
