Chapter 35
Tris' POV
The trial goes on, the questions so far leading to no where. I look over to Uriah and his head bobs down a little before jolting back up. I start to zone out when the doors swing open in the back. When I look over, Tobias is walking towards me, is face red with anger and exhaustion, but relief is evident in his eyes.
"Thank god." He reaches me, wrapping his arms around my waist in a tight hug, and although he's hugging me, I know he's angry and we'll be talking later.
As I pull away from the hug, my shoulder searing in pain from reaching up, Caleb walks in, his face red and out of breath. I give him a quick nod before turning around, the trial resuming.
"Let's continue. Drew, were you the only one conducting the bomb?" As Jack asks the question, I can feel tobias' presence next to me.
"No."
"Are you the one in the picture?"
"No." That's when I start paying attention, the trial is finally getting somewhere.
"Then what did you do in the incident?"
"I helped with the plan." The sentence is simple, quick.
"Anything else?"
"I also posed as 666 to keep his identity a secret." His arms rest on the armrests and his posture is slack, his eyes glazed over.
"Who is 666?" I lean in.
"I don't know. Nobody knows."

Tobias and I get home in silence, heading towards our bathroom when we enter the apartment. We don't say a word as we turn on the water and grab first aid supplies. The tension is building, and both of us ignore it for the time being. We sit on the side of the bathtub, washing each others wounds, the water splashing on the ground every once in a while and the water turns a murky brown.
"You were shot." Tobias states, his eyes trained on the gauze he's unraveling, unable to look me in the eye.
"You were stabbed." He ignores what I said, turning my shoulder to him.
"Who stitched you up? The wound is slightly inflamed." He grabs an ointment and gently applies it to the surface of my wound.
"Uriah, believe it or not. It hurt like hell but he did good, the stitches stayed in tact."
He wraps the gauze around my shoulder and across my chest once, his eyes never lifting from the gauze.
"Who stitched you up?" I ask, noticing his leg is also stitched, and a lot nicer than mine.
"I stopped by erudite." I nod, ignoring the slight pain in my chest from his short, emotionless statements.
By the time we've finished dressing each others wounds and changing into clean clothes, the tension is too thick to ignore.
"We need to talk, Tobias." I take a seat on the couch next to him, sitting with my back against the armrest so I'm facing him.
"Yeah, we do." His eyes finally lift to mine and they're hard, but not intimidating.
"I'm sorry-"
"Sorry? Tris you ran off in the middle of the night with an unfinished note saying that. I thought I lost you! I can't take care of our baby by myself, and I can't live without you." Tears are stinging my eyes and I look down.
"Tris.." His voice trails off, "I'm sorr-"
"No, you're right Tobias. I was unfair and shouldn't have done that. I wasn't expecting to leave right then, but I should've told you in person that I was planning on searching for 666. But that's no excuse, and if you're mad, I understand. Just know that I love you."
"I love you too." I look up and a couple tears are strolling down his cheeks. I reach up, wiping them away with my hands and giving him a small smile as more tears spill down my own cheeks.
"Let's go get Teigon?" Tobias smirks a little as he says this, and I nod.
We get up, walking out the door hand in hand to wherever Tobias left Teigon. I know that with what I've done, that he still hasn't forgiven me yet, but I also know we're both trying, and won't stop.

So it's been a while. I've been inactive lately, not really reading or writing anything on here. I'm adjusting to my new school and still haven't made very many friends... But today in science I got bored and decided to write and I finished it up just barely though it's still a bit short and I feel a bit choppy. I hope you like it though and I'll try my best to update a little bit more frequently since I finally found out how I'll lead this situation! Like and comment as you please. Love you initiates!
QOTD: Is anybody going to one of the locations in the Carve the Mark tour and if so which one?
A: I will be going to the Utah location and it's nice that you have to buy a signed(;D) copy of the book to get tickets which is a plus one.
SOTD: Antidote- Travis Scott
