"And I'm Luke, so glad we're all introduced now."
Luke glanced over at the girl he liked and hated seeing her in the arms of another man. He saw Stevie give an awkward smile to this 'Matt' character and then Matt lifted her back up onto her feet.
"Thanks for that," Stevie awkwardly said, "it's been a while. Haven't seen you since-"
"Jack's funeral." Matt said, looking down at his hands, he looked up at Luke before he ran his hands through his hair.
"So are you too...?"
"Are we what?" Stevie asked but Luke already knew what he was talking about. He was surprised Stevie didn't get it since a lot of people had made hints that they were together.
"We aren't together." Luke told Matt and he was still upset that he had to say that. He really wanted to be with Stevie but he knew that he couldn't. They were going to start a tour soon and he had no time to see her besides these 4 days. He truly wished he had more time, the tour wasn't even that long it was only a North American one anyways. He just didn't want her to leave him when things got tough or they didn't see each other for a few weeks or even a month. He knew he had the money to fly Stevie places if she wanted to come visit him. Luke just didn't want her to forget about him. He didn't want her to forget after these 4 days were over.
"Ya..." Stevie spoke and Luke thought he could hear disappointment in her voice. He just didn't even know if she was even ready for a boyfriend because an ex dying is still a hard thing to deal with even if you were already broken up. He knew that Stevie still had feelings for her deceased boyfriend and it sucked.
"Well, it was good seeing you and all, if you want to hangout or something I think you have my number." Matt told Stevie, and it just boiled Luke's blood. Stevie didn't need to hangout with Matt because he was here. He was here for her. If she needed him he would be here, no doubt about it.
"Ya, you too." Stevie said to him leaning towards him and they embraced each other in a hug. Just as they pulled away from each other Stevie planted a kiss on Matt's cheek and now Luke had enough. He was way too pissed off. Was it not obvious that Luke liked Stevie and got jealous very easily, did she not realize this? Or did she just not care...?
"Nice meeting you Luke." Matt said to Luke as he stuck out his hand and Luke decided that asshole Luke was definitely back so he didn't care if he seemed rude. He didn't care because Stevie obviously didn't care, so why should he?
"Ya, I know. It's always nice to meet me." Luke said and he didn't even feel bad about it.
Stevie's head snapped towards Luke and she sent him a discouraging stare, she was shocked that asshole Luke was back so quickly. She seriously thought that they were getting along so well now and that everything was OK.
"Ya, OK. Bye Stevie." Matt said as he walked away looking back every few seconds and staring at them.
Stevie rolled her eyes before walking away from Luke and heading straight for whatever was infront of her. She was pissed that Luke couldn't be nice to anyone Stevie was friends with, even Riley! She just had to get away from him. She was done with him. She told herself she would never date jerks, she wasn't even dating Luke but she wanted too. She wanted to be with him, but it was obivous he didn't want to be with her because he couldn't befriend anyone who was friends with her. And in the end friends came before boyfriends. It's just a code, friends have always got your back and they don't want sex at all. Not the friends Stevie had at least.
"Hey Stevie, wait up." Luke called walking after her. He didn't know why she just took off like that. "Where are you going?"
He got no reply once again and it made him even more angry and upset than he already was.
"What the fuck did I do now?!" Luke screamed at her making Stevie turn around and stare at him. She was terrified that Luke once again had yelled at her.
"What did you do?" Stevie scoffed and shook her head at him.
"Ya, c'mon get on with it." Luke told her.
"No, I'm going to waste my time with you anymore Luke. You're too much of an asshole for me to handle." Stevie told him and she really didn't want to say those things to Luke, but it was the truth and she had too. He couldn't treat everyone like this or else he'd have no one else. Stevie was teaching him this lesson now. "Whatever we had- whatever this was, it's done. I'm done. WE are done."
"WE?" Luke screamed at her. "There never was a 'WE'. You think I'd want to fuck someone like you. God. Stevie, I thought you were intelligent, but I guess not. And yes, it's true I may be an asshole but at least I'm not a groupie." Luke didn't even want to say any of this, he was just so mad. He didn't realize how everything he said was impacting Stevie.
"A groupie?" She exclaimed. "Just because you're in some random band doesn't make every girl that hangs out with you a groupie!"
Luke had bit his lip and kept silent, he couldn't believe what he had just said.
"And I haven't even done anything with you! And I never will!" Stevie told him. "God, you're such an asshole and I tried to convince myself otherwise. You're right I am stupid."
"Good. Fine!"
"Fine!" Stevie screamed and walked away.
He wanted to call after her, he truly did. But that was not something asshole Luke did.
