"I think he's hot."
"Why? It's that stupid bandana isn't it."
"No. I'm sure if he didn't have the bandana on I'd still be attracted to him." Stevie told Luke. They'd be discussing Ashton. Luke had just revealed to Stevie that he was a friend of Ashton's. He hadn't told her they were band mates because she seemed to have no idea that he was in a band. He was going to try and keep it that was for as long as possible.
It annoyed him a bit that Stevie was so open about her attraction to Ashton. What did Ashton have that he didn't?
Luke wanted to know if she found him attractive. He definitely was attracted to her or at least Ricardo was. That was what some others might call "Big Luke."
"I'm convinced it's the bandana." Luke told her. He had a plan set in action. He tapped his fingers on the screen of his phone.
The bus had come to a halt a few minutes prior so Stevie opened the overhead compartment and got Luke his bag. She didn't know why he had wanted it so badly, but he'd definitely calmed down as soon as it was in his hands. Stevie also noticed his attitude change almost right away. He seemed more open and curious. Not angered and impatient anymore.
"It's definitely not the bandana." Stevie let out a small chuckle at Luke's persistence. She wasn't sure if he was really serious about all this or if it was just his way of being friendly. But she didn't mind. She liked that fact that he was acting like this.
"It is I know it." Luke declared. He wasn't even sure if he believed his own words. His phone lit up and he saw he'd gotten a text from Calum. It was a photoshopped picture of him and his bandmates with emojis for faces. He loved what the fans could do and he let out a small laugh.
"What's so funny?" Stevie asked him. She was shocked to see that Luke could laugh but nevertheless more intrigued about what made him.
"I just got a funny picture sent to me." Luke smiled at her. He locked his phone quickly. The photo was a band one and it would be obvious that he was part of one if she saw the picture.
"Can I see it?"
"It's not that funny." Luke quickly replied.
"It made you laugh so it must be." Stevie replied and instantly regretted saying that. She knew Luke would take it the wrong way. She shuffled a bit in her seat not knowing whether or not to correct herself or if the damage was already done.
"Don't be a bitch." Luke told her in all seriousness. He was trying to be nice to her so she could tone down her sassy and rude remarks. He was trying.
"Sorry."
"Don't be sorry." Luke replied now mad at himself for making her apologize over something stupid. He ran his fingers through his hair not wanting to continue the current conversation. "Anyways what were we talking about before?"
Stevie sat there in silence not sure if Luke really wanted an answer.
"Bandanas." He declared.
"Yes. Bandanas." Stevie laughed at him.
"It's definitely the bandana." He repeated himself now sure of it. "You know why?"
"Why?" Stevie played along.
"Because they make everything hotter."
"Is that so?" Stevie now let out a large laugh and turned her body to face Luke. He was smiling at her his eyes were squinted, she guessed the sun had found her way to them. Nevertheless she still noticed the electrifying blue in them and wished hers could be that colour.
"Mhm." Luke mumbled. "Actually now that I think of it maybe not."
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah because I'm sure you couldn't look any hotter." He played with his lip ring again. Stevie had almost forgot it was there. His flirtatious statement was sure to make her cheeks turn red. She just hoped they wouldn't be too obvious. She wondered how many girls he's been with because he seemed really good at the whole flirting thing.
"That was very cheesy." Stevie remarked.
"But it was smooth." He tried to wink at her but ended up sneezing right in the middle of it. He heard her erupt with laughter.
"Shut up." He grumbled, embarrassed.
Stevie continued on laughing. She didn't know why she found his embarrassing moments to be so funny to her. "Now that is what I call smooth."
"Taking pleasure through my pain is not very nice." Luke told her. He didn't really mind her making fun of him, he actually enjoyed it a bit.
"You aren't very nice." She retorted like a 3 year old would. A smirk grew on Luke's face and Stevie was utterly confused. Did she say something that she shouldn't have?
"I know babe. I know." He replied still wearing the smirk on his face.
Stevie once again shuffled uncomfortably in her seat. She didn't know how to flirt back so openly with a guy. Sure, she'd had a couple of boyfriends before and she'd definitely flirted before but no guy ever hit on her this much. If that's what he was doing anyways.
"Stevie. Luke." A voice from the aisle said.
The both configured their attention off each other and to the person. Stevie was glad to see Ashton standing there. His interruption had gotten her out of a sticky situation. Luke on the other hand wasn't so thrilled. He knew about Stevie's crush on Ashton and knew him being around her would only make it grow.
"Hey Ashton." Stevie piped up which made Luke cringe. "Whatsup?"
"Nothing. Just thought I'd pop by as I was heading to the bathroom. Everything OK?" Stevie knew he'd been referring to the conversation with Riley earlier about trading seats. She didn't want Luke to find out about that.
"Yeah, everything just peachy." Stevie replied quickly.
Luke didn't know what was going on. It seemed like the two of them were talking in code and he didn't like it. They'd just met after all, what'd they have to talk about.
"Hey Ash, do you have an extra bandana?" Luke said.
Ashton reached into his pockets. Luke new Ashton usually kept an extra one around. Every time they met fans they always asked him for his bandanas. Luke had no idea why the fans would want a sweaty piece of cloth. But oh well, it was better than him giving up his shirt.
"You're in luck I do." Ashton replied handing Luke a blue bandana. He preferred the red one Ashton was wearing around his head but wasn't going to ask for it.
"Thanks." Luke replied trying to hint to his band mate to leave and carry on with whatever it was he was going.
"Alright. You can stop giving me the death stare Lukey. I'll leave. See you later Stevie." Ashton told them both.
Stevie's cheeks only became more red for that. She wasn't sure if it was because of what Ashton said about Luke or because of the wink he sent to her as he walked away.
"Fuck." Stevie heard Luke nutter.
He then reached into his lap and grabbed the bandana and slid it onto his head.
"There." Luke stated trying to regain Stevie's attention. He gave her a wide smile. "Do you find me more attractive now?" Luke winked at her while straightening out his shirt.
"I never found you attractive in the first place." Stevie jokingly lied. She knew it was a safe one because she saw the glow in Luke's eyes.
"You're lying." He stated.
"Am not."
"Are too."
"R2-D2." Stevie laughed.
"Did you really just make a Star Wars reference?" Luke was bewildered. He liked it when girls new classic movies.
"I did Skywalker."
"Oh my god." He laughed really loudly. He was sure a few people on the bus must've heard it but he didn't mind. "You definitely just became a lot more attractive." Luke said out loud. For once that was something he didn't mean to say.
Stevie laughed in embarrassment. "I guess that bandana sorta suits you."
"Told you it was the bandana." He exclaimed throwing his hands up in glory.
"OK. You were right."
