Gene's P.O.V

I cracked a smile slightly as I heard Blaze's screams. We soon felt a swoosh of air- fresh air. Something we haven't known to grow A custom to for quite a while now. Soon Mine and Blaze's hands were ripped apart as I felt my body being violently smashed against the somewhat soft ground.

I groaned as I pushed myself up off the wet ground. I brushed myself off as I gazed around. We were on the waters edge of a lake that was hidden by trees. It's been awhile since I've been up here. Maybe too long. I assumed it must of been night time since there were no annoying birds squawking. There were lily pads floating on the water swaying with the current.

There were firefly's dancing in the cools evening breeze. I inhaled holding it in as long as I could. Truth be told I missed this. Grass and wildlife. I don't know. I miss seasons and the sun, and although it's weird and I don't even like birds or animals...sometimes you miss hating things if that makes any sense.

I then heard a bloody shriek that sounded like Blaze. "Shit." I cursed as I rushed to where it came from. When I finally pushed back trees and bushes I found a scared Blaze. "Blaze are you okay?" I asked her as she kept her head down holding herself. But then I remembered that the ground was wet, and that water burns her. Dumbass.

"Yeah. I'll...be fine" she mumbled out as she squinted her eyes in pain. Fuck....great job Prince Charming. "You won't die" you said "Don't be a scaredy cat" you said. "I believe in woman language that means I'm not okay" I nervously laughed. She looked up at me with her crystal blue eyes and smiled the pain away. I envied her for that.

"I'm fine." she laughed as if she enjoyed it and I nodded and Lended her a hand off the tree which she took greatfully. I watched her as she gazed around her starring at the sky and trees around her. "You know..." she began to say "I never would've thought you'd bring me out here" she said half a smile and I raised a brow.

"And...why is that may I ask?" I questioned her with my hands in my pockets. She pulled her soft honey brow hair to one side as she smirked my way "I thought you were too scared. I didn't think you had the nerve against Angel"she said laughing with almost a evil tone.

"You....actually thought that?" I asked her as I scoffed. Angel didn't control me. She doesn't control me..........right? "Well you're not exactly living it up down there, I can tell you want power...but I'm just waiting to see if you're going to go against her to get some" she chuckled with a shrug. I nodded my head.

I smiled evilly as I glared down at her. I made her practically a killing machine, I made her a villain like me. I was corrupted....and I made her corrupted as well. If only the people she knew before could see what she can do now....it was truly amazing.

I could use Blaze.....but.....I don't know. Angel is stronger than me and we want the same thing me messing with her- no. It's a bad idea. I'm smart I can think of another one....but maybe I should get some... old friends to help.

I then looked at Blaze and I felt something ping in my stomach. Almost like something died. I didn't get it. I then felt something warm run down my face. I wiped it. It was clear like water. I didn't understand. Then Blaze looked at me and laughed.

"Gene? Are you crying" She asked me as she laughed and I turned away not wanting to look up at her. I was dead. I wasn't suppose to feel this-this feeling. This was wrong. This isn't who I am. I didn't understand. What was I feeling.

"Gene....are you seriously crying?" She asked me laughing even harder laugh grabbing my arm. I shifted away from her but she grabbed my chin and forced me to look at her. "Gene, come on dude, are you serious? Youre not a baby" she let out a chuckle "why are you crying? I didn't even kick your ass yet..."She asked laughing.

"It's- just uh all this fresh air is getting to me" I said and she nodded. "I see, well we should go before you come back alive" She laughed. God she's not the same anymore and I couldn't tell if that was a good thing. "no. It's fine. Enjoy it Blaze...who knows when you'll be able to escape next" I chuckled and the laughter died down as she frowned slightly. "Yeah..." she mumbled as she gazed back at the view of the lake.

"Do you...do you like it in the nether?" I asked her. She seemed a little surprised of the question but answered it with ease "No." I raised a brow a bit laughing at her bluntness. "And why not?" I asked curiously

"Believe it or not....I miss the rain" she said. I was surprised. She loved the thing that could potentially kill her. Interesting. " I hate water but...sometimes I just stand out in the rain for a couple seconds...." she said touching a water droplet and waiting until it evaporated.

"Why? Doesn't it hurt?" I asked her and she shrugged "a little...but when you touch water on a regular basis you kind of get over the pain and slowly you learn to cope with it and eventually you don't feel it anymore" she said with a shrug like it was no big deal. "Plus. Aside from leaving. I can do what I want in the nether. I feel at home." She said as she summoned flames at the edge of her fingertips.

She swirled it around her fingers she laughed then said "you know...I use to be afraid of it. I was scared just to light a candle.....and....I'm not afraid anymore....I'm not afraid of anything anymore" she said with a smile that actually- in a way- scared me. It was when I realized what Angel was doing. She got a unstable one. Nothing is more frightening than a wild fire. I realized what she did. She brain washed her. She doesn't remember anything does she....I just that's why she doesn't talk about home...her other home. She can't remember it.

"Aren't you afraid I'll run away?" She asked me with innocent eyes. I looked at her in thought until I stood up and said "no" I know I shouldn't care, and usually I wouldn't but...if she only knew the truth about Angel. She'd....be devastated. Dangerous. And I think that's what Angel wants. Apart of me wanted to let Blaze free but the truth was she was here by her own choice, because that's what Angel does best. Manipulate people.

"We should go now...Angel told me she had some work for us to do!" She said happily beginning to walk away. I decided to test my theory out. "Umm Blaze?" I called out to her. She immediately turned around with flaming hair and a smile. "Yes Gene?" She laughed. "Come here, I want to ask you something" I told her.

"Okay!" She said with glee as she ran toward me and suddenly wrapped her arms around my neck. " Can you tell me where your home is?" I asked her and she giggled "It's the Nether silly" she said poking my shoulder and going to walk away. "Wait" I said pulling her back in around her waist and began to laugh "we gotta goooo" she said whining and I nodded. "I know but I want to ask one more question " I told her and said rolled her eyes "then hurry up" she said and I laughed.

" I know The Nether is your home now but could you tell me where your other home is?" She suddenly stopped. "What are you talking about? You're acting weird Gene....maybe it's the fresh air, it's killing your brain" she laughed."what about your friends? and family?" I asked and she gave a confused look "aren't you all those things? You and Angel" said said then I asked "what about life up here? Do you remember anything else?"

She began to back away a bit "Gene...I lived alone when I was up here... I was alone. There was no one else for miles" she answered. "I thought you were born up here?" I asked her and she said "No Gene, I was born in the End....you know that" she said I just decided to let it go. I had my answer at least. I suppose this is how far Angel is willing to go."You know what never mind....but hey, when we get back do you wanna skip the homework Angel's giving us?" I asked her and she smiled as she hair flickered in agreement.

"But what will we do? It gets boring down there when you don't do anything" she said and I agreed. "We could do what we haven't done before" I said and she quickly gave me that dirty look of hers. I didn't realized what I said but oh well. "I didn't know you felt that way!" She said hopping into my arms. "To the nether!" She said happily and I laughed. There's no turning back now....
