"Kathryn...."

"Kathryn wake up..."

I was shook awake. I squinted all around but everything was so blurry. "Katie...you're awake..." I heard someone say. They stood in front of me but my sight was too blurry, I rubbed my eyes and soon the blurriness went away and I came face to face with someone I haven't seen in a while.

The man had the same Harry Potter glasses I've always known him to wear as his blueish green eyes sparkled, his brown hair had a clean cut and he had a bit of a stubby beard "Wren!" I said with a smile as I jumped up and hugged him but soon realized I was on the forest floor. I suppose he took me off my horse. I flashed a smile in my horses direction when I saw him tied to a near by tree. You did it boy.

"Hey..."he said smiling awkwardly. I scrunched up my eyebrows in confusion. What was wrong? I hugged him one more time for good measure "I missed you" I said and soon let go. He just gave me almost like a sympathetic half smile. What the hell.

"Let me help you up" he said offering a hand I nodded and quickly accepted it. "Thank you" I thanked as I brushed off the dress and fixed it. "I almost didn't recognize you with the dress on...I was expecting you to be wearing your armour and suit" he said with a soft chuckle as he scratched the back of his neck. I noticed he had a small cut on his forehead "Playing ruff with some of your Metal tools again? Eh Wren?" I said grazing my thumb over the cut.

He just looked down and forced a laugh. I guess my jokes aren't funny anymore....I guess I'll make that a note to self....

"Why you have a couple yourself" he commented. I shrugged "yeah, I got those bad boys when I was chasing Hailey through the woods.....say, is she here now?" I asked. He quickly became nervous "uh, umm y-yeah...she's the one who sent me out to-uh see if you've come yet" he said shifting from one foot to another. I smiled "oh! Okay. I didn't mean to have her waiting. We should leave now then!" I said going to grab Desmond.

"Um...let me" he said as he quickly untied the rope and handed me the lead. "Umm thank you" I said oddly. I could've done that myself...

We soon began our walk back "so...how's everyone? Anything new or exciting happen since I've been gone?" I asked attempting to make conversation. He didn't answer right away but he did answer with a "Nothing exciting..." Uh okayyyyy.....

"Any new with you? Gotta lady yet?" I said playfully nudging his arm a bit. "No.." He said rather coldly. Okay. "So...uh tell me. How was it to be lord for a while? Was it as fun as it sounds?" I asked him just imagining how awesome it would be. "You know Kathryn...not everything is a walk in the park, okay? Sometimes, things get really hard and you think you can't do it alone...but you never really are alone...you'll always have someone...you know that right?" He asked me.

I made a confused face and said "uh...yeahhhhhhh" he nodded and said "good" okayyyyyyyyyyy....? This is seriously the most awkward conversation I think I've ever had with wren. Plus I don't think he's ever called me Kathryn this much before...

"You-uh also know that...um...I'm always going to be here for you right?" He asked. And I was taken aback by this again. "Rigggggghhhht" I said. I was waiting for him to say 'but' or 'I'm leaving Pikoro' or something like that.

"Are we almost there yet?" I asked him and he nodded. As we came to a bunch of shrubs he stopped and turned to me and cupped my cheek in his hand "Remember....I'm here" I searched into his eyes for a reason for his behaviour but nothing made sense.

"Okay, Wren. What aren't you telling me?" I asked him and his eyes began to water a bit "I am so sorry-" I didn't stay to hear more I pushed back the shrubs to have Pikoro come into view or what I thought was Pikoro.

There was blood, broken arrows, ash, lonely swords and weapons everywhere. There were a couple of people outside cleaning up but completely froze when I stepped out of the bushes. I felt angry and sad....what the...

I tried not to let my anger show but...." WREN WHAT THE FUCK DID I MISS?!" I yelled balling up fists at my sides. He slowly crept out as he held my horses lead in hand with streams pouring out of his eyes. "I-I-I-I'm sorry " I was so sick of that word by now. The gates were wide open. I scowled at Wren and and blacked out his speech as I darted inside to find the inside looking the same way if anything worse.

In the corner of my eye I noticed Thoren's horse....he mad it here....does he know what happened? Did he start this? The first person to notice me was Ava....she gave me a broken smile and I gave her a confused glare. Soon Ethan swooped down beside me "Hey Katie listen...." He trailed off. "No! You listen, what the hell happened here? is everyone okay?!" I asked in a panic. I felt a mix of anger and panic which was overcoming feeling that made me want to pass out.

The ash marks looked new. This just happened. I just missed this.

"Everyone's fine, but you have to go to your room. Hailey demands it. She'll come and speak with you later" he said grabbing onto my arm. "If nothing was wrong she wouldn't want me in my room. Let me go! I don't care what she demands! Let me go now!" I yelled as his grip grew tighter. "Don't fight it Katie, it's for your own good please, she trying to help you" he said.

"Help me my ass!" I yelled kicking and twisting until I loosened his grip and darted away. "KATIE STOP! GAURDS, GET HER! LORDS ORDERS!" Ethan yelled. Really Ethan? This is what it's come to?

I ran to the one place that all the guards ran to almost protecting. I'm not suppose to go in there...what's in there? Only one way I'm  going to get access. I loosened my fists and held them far from my sides as the easily bursted to flames. The guards quickly stepped aside. I quickly ran in and marched up the stairs.

There were so many people up stair who were hurt. I had doctors and nurses tell me to leave and I ignored. I finally got to the last room, the minute I looked in I found Thoren, Hailey, Joyce and a few others but that didn't matter to me. I just starred at the bed the minute I noticed who was in the bed my flame went out. No one noticed me until I walked in beside the bed. "Katie..." Thoren said breathlessly I immediately fell to my knees as Thoren dove in a scooped me up in his arms. "Oh my god......D-Dominic" my voice cracked as tears fell down my cheeks.

It was Dominic. He had a huge bruise on his left eye and he was shirtless as large gauze on his shoulder which was pooled with blood laid. He had cuts on his face and bruises on his arms. What happened?

"Shhh...it's okay...It's alright" Thoren coo'd in my ear. I didn't want to cry in front of everyone, but if anything it's there fault. Perhaps I would've taken it a different way if they had told me sooner. I soon crawled away from Thoren and scooted closer to Dominic. His hands were covered in dry blood, they looked bruised. I took his limp and him mine and began to draw mini circles with my thumb.

Thoren came up behind me and gave me a chair. I didn't bother to look at him but I did accept the chair. I looked at his unconscious face...he surprisingly looked the same except for all the bruises and cuts. His hair was covered in sweat and blood. Thoren kept a hand on my shoulder which in away kept me from yelling at all of them.

Still holding his hand I said "would someone here care to tell me what the fuck I missed?" I snarled at them. They were all quiet until Joyce spoke up " We had a fight...with Burtemi....once again he was looking for his niece. Apparently word spread around that she was dead and he came looking for you. When we tried to tell him that Y/N was fine he refused and demanded he spoke with you..." She trailed off.

"Then?" I barked at her with sass and anger. "We told him he couldn't come in if he was wishing to spill blood...so...he decided to do that instead. We were low on fighters....so many people were harmed.....he had to fight Katie....he...had to." She said trying to persuade me. "He's not a fighter like you and I Joyce. That was a stupid call, look what your choices have caused. I don't understand why you would choose the baker to fight...that was literally the stupidest thing you could've done" I snapped at her.

You could see she was mad with me putting her in her place. She wanted to challenge me. She walked up to me and said "ACTUALLY he did quite well, perhaps he was just as good as I am, until he got shot down by an archer...he even saved Ava" so Ava was out there too? Holy hell how stupid is she? oh so she was raising her voice to me now? Okay honey, let's just see who wins.

I stood up and smacked Thoren's hand away, looked her straight in the eyes and said "Of course he did well! I taught him everything I know! I taught him everything...just to FUCKING ADVOID THIS!" I yelled pointing at the limp and uncurious Dominic.

"Well maybe if think my choices where so poor you should've been there. I don't understand why Hailey even put a child to be Head Guard anyways, and it's not like she can say you're very mature either since you keep running away like an chicken with its head cut off! Does she choose you because you have powers? Is that what it is? Because let me tell you something else, just because you may be able to catch on fire as a match doesn't mean anything....everything will eventually melt and burn them you will have nothing left....now That's and idiotic move! " She yelled at me.

I chuckled dryly, closed my eyes for a split second and walked up real close to her "I may be a child, but that can only prove that there are no one better than me to take the job so don't even think for a fucking second you could take my place because let me tell you something darling I will literally burn your fucking ass to the ground along with any little achievements you've ever made along the way. If I could burn this place don't in a millisecond I don't see why you wouldn't think I wouldn't do the same to you"

And with that she grunted and ran out of the room saying "filthy magic user" after that a couple of other people who went after her. "HEY! GET BACK HERE!" Thoren yelled standing up I could tell he was ready to beat her up. "It's okay....sit down" I told him. He was ready to argue with me but Hailey interrupted "Katie....she didn't mean any of that, just while we were gone I guess she was given a task she couldn't handle and that's my fau-" I cut her off "please....just leave.....please" I asked her softly shutting my eyes tightly wishing that this was a dream. "Of course..." And with that she left.

"I'm proud of you. You showed her who was boss" Thoren said, just in his voice I could tell he was smirking. I slid off my cloak and placed it on the chair behind me. I gently touched the bruise on his head. I'm so sorry...

"This isn't your fault you know... It's nobody's fault....it was his choice to fight. He's a brave man" Thoren commented. "No. He's a stupid man, always trying to prove his strength and help people. He's blinded kindness" I said still holding his hand.

"They said that he'll be fine. They said his body is just tired from fighting and his body is trying to fight off any possible diseases as well as heal wounds....it's just a matter of when he'll wake up" he informed me and I nodded. "That's good" I commented. "It is" he agreed.

"May I ask you a question?" I asked Thoren. "Anything" he replied. I now brought my attention to Thoren "why are you still here?" I asked him. He sighed and said "well...Hailey thought I could help you through this....plus I had to ask you something..." He trailed off. Hearing about Hailey keeping him here was oddly shocking...I thought she hated him.

"Okay...and what is that?" I asked him sceptically. I knew he had quite a dirty mind.....

"Well....I mean I wanted to know...if...you'd like to come back to Tu'la with me." He offered his hope in his eyes. I was shocked. "What?" I asked him. He then kneeled down beside me and took one of my hands. "Lady Kathryn. Would you do me the honours of coming back to Tu'la with me. We wouldn't have to leave today or tomorrow, just when you're ready and your friend if 100% better." He said.

"Oh Thoren....I don't know...." I told him "Katie, I promise as long as you stay in Tu'la you will never ever hear anyone say those words ever again. No one will ever address you that way...ever...and I'll make that my life's promise.....please" he asked. That did sound like a good offer. But what did I have in Tu'la?

"Thoren....Tu'la isn't my home anymore....what do I even have there? History?" I asked him. That wasn't enough to make me go back....my family is here. People I've known for a long time are here.People who care about me are here.People who- "A mother" he said. I paused. What did he just say? Mother?
