Katie's P.O.V

It's been so long since I left my room....it's always dark in here although slivers of sun shine peek threw some cracks that were left behind....that's all.

I haven't seen anyone, aside from the maids. I miss everyone. But, Everytime I inch closer to the door guilt flushes over me so I never leave.

I was laying in my bed wondering about my life choices. What was I doing here in Pikoro? What was my plan? Was I gonna stay here forever? What's keeping me here?

I thought about leaving. Maybe that would be for the best....people don't really need me here....

After that thought my bedroom door busted open.what is it with people not knocking! I knew keeping my door unlocked for the maids was a bad idea.....

It was Dominic panting like crazy with a large grin on his face. Did he run all the way here? For what? "What do you want?" I snapped. He frowned a bit but soon his grin reappeared on his face. "I have something for you" he said holding up a piece of paper.

"Please leave me alone" I said shoving my face into a pillow. "It's a letter!" He sang as he sat beside me. "I don't care. Im not reading it" I said grumpily. He sighed "that's fine then, I'll read it too you" I groaned.

"I Lord Aphmau of Phoenix drop, all you all way or may not know, Y/N Y/L/N was pronounced dead last week. But, I would like to inform all Phoenix alliance members that Y/N Y/L/N has been spotted alive. We ask all members-" I cut him off "WHATTTTTTTT!" I yelled as I fell on the floor but quickly stumbled back up.

He smiled brightly "I knew this would make you happy" he said. "READ MORE!" I yelled sitting cross legged on the floor in front of him like a child does to a mother telling a story. "Okay, okay I will." He chuckled. " We ask all members to keep a close watch for her a report to us spotting and or bring back ASAP. Thank you" I squealed with glee on the floor.

"Well you don't seem happy at all" he said jokingly. "Shut up!" I said with a grin. I didn't kill her!

But then the reality sunk in. How was she still alive? How could this be? Laurence saw her die....which she rudely didn't mention me in when she was saying her goodbyes....eh..I don't blame her, I wouldn't miss me either.

"But...how is she alive?" I asked looking up at Dominic. He shrugged fixing his hair "I don't know...but...are you happy?" He asked me uneasily. He looked hopeful yet sad. He was trying so hard. I gleamed at him and jumped him with a hug.

He laughed "what is this for?" I nudged my head further into his shoulder "thank you" I smiled softly. "What for?" He said dumbly. "For everything" I said.

After like an hour shower I dried up and quickly got dressed into a pair of light ripped jeans with a white blouse with buttons and Ruffles on it. I waked out o free washroom feeling refreshed and happy.

I watched as Dominic sat starstruck on the bed with his jaw almost touching the floor "Don't leave your mouth open or you might catch a fly" I said chuckling with a smirk while closing his mouth.

We walked down the hallway side by side. We walked out into the sun and I quickly turned away. Who knew the sun was so evil?

"Come on Katie, someone would love to see you" he smiled while taking my hand. Who would that be?

But then after a while I realized where he was taking me. The tower. The tower was the biggest building in all of Pikoro, that's where Hailey created most of her potions and spells. He gave my hand a tight squeeze and flashed me a weak but reassuring smile. He gided me inside to the stairs and stopped.

"Your not coming?" I questioned and he smiled slightly. "No, I'm sorry. I have to go back to working....but it would be best if you went to see her alone anyways" he said rubbing the back of his neck. I nodded and glanced up at the spiral staircase and sighed. I made my way up the stairs slowly.

Once I got to the top I slowly shut the trap door. I walked in slowly. It was a mess. Broken bottles everywhere, mysterious bubbling potions broken on the floor. Ingredients tossed around randomly...it was as if the place had been ransacked.

"H-Hailey?" I called out softly. I don't know why but my voiced drained out on me. Looking around the room at the mess worried me as if something happened to her.

I crept around the corner to see Hailey with her head on the desk, sleeping. I sighed with Relief. I was so happy she was okay. I shook her shoulder a bit "Hailey....hailey..." I called softly. I needed to get her to her room....has she not slept at all?

She soon jolted from her slumber, and groaned herself awake. "Come on, Hailey...lets get you to bed" I said with a smile. She looked at me with a confused look. She looked exhausted, burnt out, completely drained of all energy. She looked broken and sad.....was that because of me?

"K-Katie?" She questioned with her groggily voice. "Yes...now come on, let get you to-" I was cut off by her hug attack.

"Oh my baby! How are you? Are you feeling better? You know it's not your fault right? Did you come to talk to me? You know I'm always here to talk-" I cut her and her rambling off. I laughed and said "Mom, I'm fine" but hen we both froze. I've never really called her that before.

Oh my god...I messed up so bad. Why did I say that? It just slipped! Oh god here we go again with the stupidity! I'm so fricken dumb! I watched as her eyes got watery. Great! You made her cry! Good job Genius!

H-Hailey....I...I...I am so sorry....it just came out....I didn't mean to-" I decided to stop talking once she hugged me tightly and I hugged back. All I kept thinking of how bad that could've turned out....

"I don't think you know....how long...I've dreamt of you saying that.." She smiled with sniffling in between. I smiled, I never knew she felt that way...

"Well....then...I'm not sorry?" I said jokingly and she laughed and hugged me once more.

"I don't want you to say sorry for that, your just like my child. You are my child. I'm proud of everything you've ever achieved, and more. I will always be here for you and I want you to know that....." She said holding my hand tightly and I nodded saying "okay". Everything she was telling me was more than I've ever wanted.

"Now, Kathryn. I must speak to you." She said seriously. She only called me Kathryn in formal or serious matters. I use to think that she just called me Kathryn or Lady Kathryn because she didn't want people knowing about the relationship we had or how close we were since that would be a weakness. But now it seems to be more cleared up in my understanding that I suppose it's only because she cares too much...or she's just very serious.

I nodded telling her she had my full attention.

"As you may or may not know....Y/N has been spotted in the area...and I know this is amazing news...but, you must promise you won't go looking for her" she said with all seriousness. Damn it....

"Why not?" I asked trying to sound more curious than upset. "Because, that means she's fine. She can take care of herself, she doesn't need a search group looking for her, if so Aphmau would've asked for such. Pulse, don't you think Laurence will be the first to leave to find her? Also, they have werewolves and Vylad...if they were going to tract down her they for sure can do it" she smiled. I knew very well who Vylad was. I've heard stories and such. I haven't met everyone in Phoenix Drop but I make it my business to know who lives there just as much as any other village.

I know names, and stories not faces. I contemplated on my choices. I mean I wasn't gonna leave today...but I was certainly thinking about leaving.

"Do you promise?" She finally asked me.

I'm known to keep a promise...I can't just throw my rep like that....but then again... I have to know that she really is alive......I can't promise Hailey that....but yet again it would shut her up....

"Hailey...." I trailed off warningly. She was asking a lot from me. I didn't necessarily listen to her....

"Katie...please promise me. I almost lost you once...I don't plan on losing you again" she said holding my hand. I looked into her eyes and sighed......I just can't promise that...but I can't tell her I can't promise her that either...it will break her heart. I mentally slapped myself for being to reckless and stupid for even putting myself in this situation.

"I.......I......I promise" I managed to spit out with a cringe. I didn't want to lie to her. It was like swallowing glass but it had to be done. Nothing was gonna happened to me. I won't be careless.

She sighed with relief, with caused a wave a guilt to wash over me. I am officially the worst person ever. I have no good rep. I have to dignity nor pride. How could I have don't that so easily?

"Good. I have to go now....but I'll see you in a while!" She chirped and she pulled herself together and left leaving a negative and troublesome aura in the room. What have I gotten myself into.....

Hailey's P.O.V

Two hours after talking with Katie I've felt more positive and happy. It was like that small jolt of electricity I needed. I checked on everyone and everything. I was getting all my duties done. I was on a roll.

I was talking to Ruben and Ava when, In the distance I saw Dominic running towards me. I greeted him with a smile. "Hello Dominc, why are you such in a rush?" I asked chuckling but his face read that I shouldn't be. "My Lord...I just received a letter from ScalesWind" he informed me. I stood confused for a while until a little light bulb went off in my head. Nicole.

"I apologize, Ruben, Ava, I must leave. I hope we finish this conversation later" I smiled weakly as they nodded and left I quickly pulled Dominic I between two houses. "What's the matter Dominic?" I quickly cut the act. This was serious.

"My Lord, please forgive me but, I don't think we should be having this conversation he-" I cut him off "just tell me Dominic...is it bad?" I asked slowly. He gave me a sympathetic look. Which gave me the answer of 'yes'.

"Please, tell me Dominic" I said. "Well..." He said opening the letter preparing to read it out loud. "Dominic just tell me" I snapped growing impatient. "Oh, okay- of course" he said hesitantly figuring with the letter in his hands. "Well...they have Y/N in ScalesWind, this letter just notify's us that she will soon be brought safely home-" I cut him off again. "Wait....so they know where Y/N is?" I questioned
. And he nodded eagerly. I sighed.

"Dominic...your going to have to do me a favour" I told him sternly. He looked slightly terrified yet worried for my request. "Do not tell Katie about this please" I told him.
