24 Carnival
"Evan!" I called down the hall.
"Darlin'! Care to explain why I had no dorm to sleep in last night?" He chuckled.
"Yeah... Erm, sorry about that. Nick was a tad drunk." I explained.
"We all go there sometimes," Evan smiled, "Don't worry bout it darlin'. As long as I have it back tonight."
"Of corse." I smiled. "Am I forgiven?"
"As long as you can come to the carnival with me on Thursday - no one else will go with me." He chuckled.
"Yeah sure. I'm alone and free." I agreed. "Can I invite Ella?"
"Invite who you want darlin' I just don't want to be alone. See ya then." He waved good bye.
~*~~*~
"Ooh, sounds fun, can I invite my boo?" Ella squealed as I mentioned the carnival to her.
"Your boo?" I laughed.
"Oh, shh, Nick calls you loads of things and I don't judge. I can call my boyfriend what I want." Ella smiled.
Her relation ship with Joe, was the cutest. They barley fought and when they did they would always make up.
They both loved each other to bits.
"Go ahead, invite Matt too - I need a word with him."
"No. No, your not doing this, Ash. Matt has gotten himself into his own mess, his choice and he can sort it out." Ella informed me.
"Fine," I sighed, " but I still want to confront him. That boy likes dudes, he doesn't need to hide from it - it's nothing to be ashamed of."
"He hasn't come out to his family yet, Ash. It's a big change. Let him deal with it on his own level."
"Reasons why you are my best friend." I laughed. "I guess we should start going."
The carnival was close to school, just a park away to be exact. Apparently they did it yearly, all the stalls, the bumper cars and Ferris wheel.
"Ash!" I turned to Evan, coming from a food stand. "Hey Ella. Ready to be beat on bumper cars?" He smirked.
"Nope, you going down. You coming Ella?" I smiled, enthusiastically.
"Duh!" We ran to the queue line and scanned our tickets that we brought earlier.
We had a blast driving into each other, overall I think Ella won. But it was fun anyway. We all went to get food when Joe and Matt arrived.
"Matt," I turned to him once we were semi-alone.
"Ashley." He replied.
"What's going on with you and Kelsie?"
"Nope. I knew you were gonna bring this up. So I'm going to break it off. Your right, Nick's right, I can't do this anymore. It's not me."
Wow. I didn't see that. I thought I was going to have to talk to him for an hour since he was the most stubborn person I'd ever met - dis-including Nick.
Wait, I heard Nick's name.
"Nick? What's he got to do with it?"
"He told me what you thought about it. He said that it didn't matter what everyone else thought, because you guys were always there for me. That, that helped a lot."
I thought Nick was against me on this one.
"So what are you going to do?" I asked.
"I can't come out to my parents yet. To my friends here, sure, but not my parents. It's scary Ash, I can't do that yet." Matt looked into my eyes genuinely. I knew he was going to do the right thing, but I couldn't push him to do it faster than he was ok with. I had to leave it - just like Nick and Ella had said.
"I know. And I trust that you won't hurt the girl. Kelsie is sweet a fit wasn't fair on her but I can see it from your angle as well." I smiled.
Matt's face immediately lit up. "This, this is why your my best friend. Come here," Matt tackled me with a bear hug.
"Thanks for being my friend, Ash."
I laughed, wrapping my arms around him for a hug. "Weird thank you, but I will accept it and say the same thing."
"Hey! Matt! Don't steal my girlfriend." Nicks voice came into the scene. I pulled away to see his smiling face.
I'd barley seen him all week. Ever since he was drunk I explained to Evan why he had no bed and I spent the week doing school work in my dorm and maybe overthinking a bit too much.
I ran up to the boy and almost launched myself at him. It's hard to believe that even in just a short week with not seeing him, I still missed him loads.
"Wo! Ash, you alright there?" He chuckled, before kissing my lips.
"Sorry, I kinda shut everyone off this week." I whispered.
"Yeah, I noticed. But your not gonna do that again. Now will you go on the Ferris Wheel again and recreate our first kiss." He smirked.
I think Nick is more girl than dude, because no guy I've ever met has ever wanted to do anything remotely romantic like that.
"I don't want to recreate our first kiss," Nick frowned,"because to do that, I would have to ignore you for s long time then fight with you so you can cut me off by kissing me."
"Would you like to recreate our second kiss?" He smirked.
"Anonzè!"
