The Brothers

"CJ...I'm not gonna tell you again, papa. Get off the game and put your clothes in your bag. Your dad will be here any minute." It's around 5:30, and Colin is on his way to get CJ. The ladies are going to dinner, heading back to Kash's place then get ready for later tonight.

"Do you have to go out?"

"We go through this every time I go out."

"Because I hate it when you go. There are other guys there. I don't want them looking at you. You're with dad...even though you're still mad at him."

"Guys are gonna look regardless, but you'll never have to worry about me giving them my time. That goes to dad."

"How come you're still mad at him then."

"You ask a lot of questions." He gives her a cheeky smile, resembling his father. "Go pack your clothes."

"Yes ma'am." Too damn smart for his own good. She thinks to herself. About 10 minutes later, the doorbell rings. She opens it and it's Cam.

"Hey...." She says with confusion.

"I know you were expecting Colin...but he sent me to get CJ."

"And why couldn't he? This is his son, not yours." She says letting him in.

"Yeah, he had some work to handle."

"Of course he did."

"Don't be so hard on him, Liyah. You know the deal."

"Doesn't mean I have to like it." He sighs. "Kai ready for tonight?" She asks changing the subject.

"Oh yeah, she ready. She'll arrive dressed like a nun, so don't be alarmed."

"Bye Cam."

"Forreal. I don't need them niggas staring too hard."

"You men and your insecurities."

"I'm not insecure."

"Good. Then Kai will come ready to serve!"

"Yup. Serve God." Cam jokes.

"I'm sick of you. Colin Rand!" She calls to the back of the house.

"Coming." He runs to the front with his backpack on his back. "Uncle Cam!" He says with a smile.

"What's up man. You ready?"

"Yeah. Where's my dad?

"He's working, so you're stuck with me for now."

"That's cool. Bye mom." He says walking towards the door.

"Excuse me, young man. Since when do you leave without giving me love." He runs into her arms. "I love you. Be good."

"I love you more mama." She gives him a kiss on the cheek.

"Take care of my baby boy, Cam."

"You got it."

Cam and CJ leave and get to his and Kai's home.

"Babe." Cam calls out as they walk in.

"Hey handsome." Kai says.

"Hey auntie Kai."

"Uh yeah kid, she was talking to me." Cam says.

"I was actually talking to CJ...but you were definitely next."

"Ha. Told you." CJ says with an evil smile while Kai's arms are still wrapped around him.

"He not allowed back. You see that evil little smirk he just gave me."

"Really Cam? Really. He's 9."

"An evil little 9 year old. Don't let that innocent smile and hazel eyes fool you."

"He's crazy auntie Kai."

"That he is. You better leave him alone." Kai says gently pushing Came before walking off.

"You just played me." He says to CJ.

"No. You played yourself."

"I'm gonna kick yo lil ass." Cam says quietly. CJ sticks his tongue out at him. Cam shakes his head, realizing he's exactly like his father.

"Is my dad coming to get me from here?"

"Nah, we're gonna meet him at the club in a few minutes actually. So get your shoes on so we can go."

"Okay."

They get to the club where Luke and Odell are sitting at the bar talking. They both look behind them as they hear footsteps approaching them.

"Hey, look who it is. What's up CJ?" Luke says.

"Nothin. Chillin with uncle Cam."

"Where's Colin?" Odell asks.

"He should be pulling up soon."

They sit around, tease and wrestle with CJ till Colin arrives. CJ and Odell do most of the wrestling. When Colin finally shows up, he and CJ leave and the guys finish preparing to open for tonight.

Kai and Aaliyah meet at Kash's place and they take Aaliyah's all-black Range Rover to dinner. Their reservations were set for 7:30 and they made it on time. After getting seated and ordering drinks, they engage in conversation while looking over the menu.

"So I take it everyone had a nice little getaway." Aaliyah says.

"Cam and I did. Most fun we've had in a while to be honest." Kai said, and went on into more details of what they did. She left out the detail about Cam wanting to move away to New York. She figured it would get back to one of the guys and she felt Cam had to tell them personally.

"Kash...what about you and Odell's trip?"

"It was good."

"Yeah, we can tell. You're glowing." Kai says.

"Did you finally let blondie give you some?" Aaliyah asks.

Kash smiled. "Yes, I did."

"Oh God bless." Kai says.

"Praise him." Aaliyah says raising her hands.

"I'm sick of y'all."

"Aye, we were wondering when you were gonna get them cob webs dusted off boo."

"Again, I'm sick of y'all. What about you, Liyah."

"Other than him leaving a few days early, it was good. It was nice to be around him when he's not on call 24/7. He was in a completely different headspace when we were down there. It sucks because I can't get used to that Colin yet."

"So you're not mad at him anymore?" Kai asks.

"I'm not mad, still a little upset, but I'll get over it. He probably still thinks I'm mad. I haven't really given him the time of day since then. He's called to talked to Jr and that's it."

"Okay, now's the time to stop being stubborn. We know you're dick deprived. We know you miss him, and you aren't doing yourself any favors by dragging this out." Kash says.

"Oh, so now that you got some dick for the first time in forever, you're inclined to tell me that I'm deprived?"

"As a matter of fact, yes, I am."

"Kash has a point Liyah."

Aaliyah sighs. "Whatever. Where's the waiter, I'm ready to order."

After the dinner, they go back to Kash's to get ready to go out. They are definitely not going anywhere near the club. They want to be no where near their men tonight.

While getting ready, Colin sends Aaliyah a text.

My Honey❤️😍: I know you're mad at me right now, but I called for a car to chauffeur y'all around. That way y'all can let loose with no worries. He's probably already out there.

She goes to the livingroom and looks out of the window to see a black SUV parked on side of the street.

LiyahBaby😍😍: Thanks.

Colin felt that was a dry response, so he didn't reply.

They finish getting ready and leave for the club. When they get there, they go straight to the bar for shots.

"What are we toasting to?" Kai says over the music.

"Hmmm...to us. Sisters forever, sticking together, through whatever."

"Amen to that." Kash says. Tapping their shot glasses together, they down the shot; and down a couple more after that.

"I think we need to calm down on the shots." Kai suggests.

"Girl, we've just gotten started. Excuse me, Mr. Cute bartender." Aaliyah says.

"Yes beautiful."

"Aww you're so sweet. 3 more shots."

"Same thing?"

"Yup."

"Lord, she's trying to kill us." Kai says to Kash.

He pulls out the glasses and pours up three more shots. "These are on me."

"Thank you." She says while putting money in the tip jar.

A random guy sits next to Kai and attempts to get her attention.

"Hey gorgeous."

"Uh, hey." Kai says flatly.

Aaliyah peeps and walks to the other side of him. "Who are you?"

"Jonathan...and you are?"

"Her bestfriend. And she's taken."

"Oh word. See if you were my lady, there's no way I'd allow you out of my sight looking like this."

"Well they have a thing called trust. Now excuse yourself." Aaliyah says bluntly. When liquor get into her system, there's no filter and no feelings.

"Damn ma. She got a man?" He asks looking at Kai and Kash.

"She does." Kash says.

"I feel bad for that brotha." He says before walking off.

"Oh my god, Liyah." Kai says.

"Not my fault ol boy can't take a hint." Aaliyah calls the waiter over to order another drink.

Kash and Kai both look at each other. "You're babysitting tonight." Kash says beating Kai to the punch.

"Unh uh. I did it last time she went over board."

"But I called it before you."

"Here you go. Drink up." Aaliyah says sliding the drinks down."

"damn, did you get a bonus at work or somethin?" Kash asks.

"Nope. I have Colin's credit card."

"He gave you that?"

"No. He just never got it back from me when we went to Houston."

"He gone wax that ass when he sees his credit card statements." Kai says. Aaliyah shrugs her shoulders.

After that drink, Kash stopped drinking for a while, and had one more before they left. Kai and Aaliyah, however, let loose. Bye the end of the night, they are out of there.

They get taken back to Akasha's home after leaving the club, despite Aaliyah begging to go somewhere to get food. Kash was just ready to get them both in the house and in the bed. After stopping a couple times because they both had to throw up, they finally arrive at the house.

"Okay bitches. Time to go in the house. Come on." Kash says standing outside by the car door.

"Tell him to drop me off at Colin's." Aaliyah says.

"Aaliyah Nicole. Please get out of the truck. I'm not about to play with you.

"Why are you so mean."

"I'm not honey. I'm tired and I'm ready to go to bed. Kai...come on. Get out the car." Kai complies, Aaliyah, of course, is the stubborn one. Kash finally gets them both to the door and inside. "Do I need to help y'all change?"

"We got it." Kai says.

"Okay, I'll be back." Kash walks to her bedroom to change. Before doing so, she sends a text to Odell.

MyHeart❤️😘: yeah. Stuck babysitting Kai and Aaliyah though.

Kash never makes it back to the livingroom because Kai and Aaliyah make their way into her room.

"Y'all know there's a guest room, right?"

"Kash don't be like that." Aaliyah mumbles into the pillow. She lifts her head. "Where's my phone, I need to call Colin."

"You can call him when you wake up later."

"I wanna call him now." She says wiping a tear away.

"Liyah, don't cry." Kai says.

"I've been so mean to him. All I want is for him to hold me and tell me how much he loves me, and then I tell him how much I love him. Then we make love all night. Y'all he wants to have a daughter with me, and I told him no...but I wanna have his little girl." She rambles on in full breakdown mode.

"Cam wants a baby too."

"What'd you tell him?"

"I said yes."

"Oh my god. I'm a horrible person." Aaliyah cries out.

"It's okay. Don't cry." Kai says wrapping her arms around Aaliyah.

"Lord." Akasha says quietly, while rolling her eyes. She gets in bed and let those two be. It didn't take long before they were both out for the night, and she quickly joined them.

Back in the city, while they were out, Colin and CJ spent the night playing video games. Colin played a few match ups in madden, but for the most part, he let CJ play. He didn't realize how long this kid could stay up and play the same game; Call of Duty, over and over and over.

"Alright Jr. A few more minutes, and we gonna call it a night."

"Ten more minutes?" CJ begged.

"Ten minutes, then it's bed time." Once those ten minutes are up, they both retreat to Colin's room. CJ flops down on the bed, causing Colin to smile.

"Night dad."

"Night bubba. See you in the morning." CJ turns over and quickly falls asleep. Colin's not too far behind him until he gets a text from an unknown number.

Unknown: sooo I come to the club to see you, and you're not here😕

Colin: Liz?🤔

Unknown: Guilty☺️

Colin: Yeah, I had things to do.

Liz: 😔😔
Liz: Saw the guys tonight. Didn't talk to them though. I don't even think they recognized me.

Colin: it's been a while.

Liz: yeah, I know.
Liz: I would like to see you though.

Colin: Maybe we can work something out.

Liz: just let me know.

Colin: Will do.
