The Brothers

About a week goes by and things seem to be returning to normal. After everything that's happened, trying to get the club reopened was delayed and at this rate, doesn't look like it'll be reopened and that's something Cam, Colin and Odell were okay with.

Quite frankly, the three of them wanted to wash their hands of New York. They were ready to move and their women stood firmly behind this decision. Colin had moved out of his penthouse and moved into Aaliyah's house until they decided on their next location. They weren't back together just yet, but Aaliyah insisted that he move considering everything that has happened.

However, Colin's worries would only be gone temporarily because while he still believed Carly was gone for good, she wasn't. After Liz came and found her, she was taken back to New York, taken into witness protection to help out the case. Carly had to see Luke just one last time but when she went over, his apartment had been vacated, and was soon informed of his passing.

The first thing that came to mind was Colin. He was involved in a business that could get him or anyone close to him killed. Now she wanted to make sure Colin got what he deserved. And she did just that, giving Liz and her team all the information they needed to identify Lobos' supplier; Colin, giving them probable cause for a warrant.

After going to his former penthouse to find him, they discover he no longer lives there. That's when Liz steps in and informs the team that he could be with Aaliyah, so that was there next move.

Colin was at Aaliyah's at the time, playing video games with CJ. He just so happened to look through the front window and saw squad cars in front of the house.

"CJ..go to your room."

"What? Why? I didn't even do anything, but kick your butt in 2K."

"Just do what I say, okay."

CJ huffs, but does what Colin says. "What's wrong?" Aaliyah asks.

"Cops are here...in the top right drawer of your dresser, underneath my shirts is an envelope. In it is a bank account I set aside for you and Jr. Y'all should be good."

"What are you saying?"

"I'm saying I gotta face the consequences. But call my lawyer and let him know what's up. Also head over to Cam's, that way I can talk to him when I call you."

Aaliyah nods, while wiping her tears away. There's a hard knock on the door and they both look that direction. Colin heads for the door and Aaliyah follows closely behind. Colin unlocks and opens the door.

"Mr. Kaepernick you have a warrant for your arrest, can you step outside please." Colin steps out. "Turn around, put your hands behind your back." The officer says and proceeds to read him his rights as he puts the cuffs around his wrists.

Colin notices CJ in the back, watching the whole thing and that's the last thing he wanted to happen.

"I love you." He mouths to Aaliyah.

"I love you."

They escort him to one of the squad cars and takes him to the station for further questioning. Liz and her team are already there waiting. Colin and his lawyer are taken to an interrogation room, where he sits and waits for someone to come in. A few minutes later, Liz walks in, causing him to sit back in his chair.

Before she says anything, she turns off the device that plays the interview in the other room.

"Off the record, I want you to know this is not how I thought things would end when I saw you at the club."

"Oh, so busting me wasn't the plan all along?"

"No. Not at all."

"Hm."

"I want to make this easy for you. You give me what I need, and I can assure you you'll spend no longer than five or six, you don't comply, you're looking at ten plus."

"So a deal?"

"Yes. A deal."

"Why? Why are you helping me."

"Because you have a son...and I know how hard it was for you not to grow up without your father."

Colin looks at his lawyer, then back at Liz and nods. "You have a deal." His lawyer says.

Colin gives them any information that they want. Unfortunately he'll remain in jail until his preliminary hearing, there it'll be determined whether there's enough evidence for a trial hearing and if there is, if there will be a bond or no bond set.

That day, Aaliyah and CJ spend majority of it over Cam and Kai's. Odell and Kash make their way over. The guys are in Cam's office, waiting on Colin's call.

"So what now?" Odell asks.

"I don't even know to be honest with you. Serious damage control is gonna have to be done regarding the club."

"Damn the club. I'm talkin bout Kap."

"He knew this could happen. He told me that if it did come to this, we carry on with business as usual. We have mouths to feed."

"When did he tell you this?"

"When you were taken. He knew that this would come crashing down one way or another...so now we move forward. That's what he wants."

Aaliyah finally gets the call she's been waiting on and after talking with Colin for a little bit, she takes the phone to Cam's office. He takes the phone and puts it on speaker.

"Aye Kap, it's me and Odell. You're on speaker."

"Yo, Kap, you good?" Odell asks.

"Yeah man, I'm good. I have no other choice."

"How long they talkin bout giving you?" Odell asks.

"I took a plea deal. Looking at 5 or 6 years."

"Damn bruh."

"I know. I'm sorry Dell...guess I can't be your best man now. You got Cam though."

"I ain't some rebound nigga." Cam jokes. Colin and Odell both laugh.

"Aye, but on a serious note, do right by her. I know I'm in no position to tell you how to go about your relationship, but I just learned a huge lesson when it came to mine. I lost the best thing that ever happened to me, and I don't want that to happen to you."

"I hear you big bro. I hear you! Don't worry, she's gonna be treated like the queen she is."

"And Cam...remember what I told you."

"I remember bruh. I got you."

"Thank you. Aye, I love y'all. Real shit."

"We love you too." Cam says.

"Alright, i gotta go. I don't long to talk, unfortunately."

"Don't worry. We'll be to visit." Cam says.

"No doubt." Odell agrees.

"Preciate it. I'll talk to y'all soon."

"Later Kap."

"Later."

Aaliyah and CJ leave later that night and he's been quiet ever since Colin was arrested earlier. Once they get home he takes a shower and goes to his room. Aaliyah walks in to see him playing with one of action figures.

"Papa, we gotta talk about this."

"No we don't."

"Yes we do."

"What's there to talk about. Dad didn't tell me the truth."

"What are you talking about?"

"He told me he wasn't the bad guy, and that he protected us."

"And that's what he did. You know how uncle Odell got back to us?"

"Dad?"

"Mhhm. He did what he had to do."

"But now he's gone." He says with tears in his eyes.

"Only for a little while." She says putting her arm around him. He cries into her chest. "Everything's gonna be okay, I promise."

"Okay." He says drying his eyes.

After Colin's preliminary hearing, his trial date was set a few months after and bond was not granted.

A couple months had gone by and CJ constantly asked to see Colin. Colin didn't want CJ to see him in this state, but he'd have to let him come eventually and today was the day.

After Aaliyah and CJ both went through security protocols, they were finally able to see him. It would only be through the phone, as glass separated them, but that was better than nothing. Aaliyah and CJ sat at one of the windows and waited for Colin to walk out. A few minutes later, he finally does and he and Aaliyah pick up the phone at the same time.

"Hey..."

"Hey. You look beautiful." He says.

"Thank you. Cam told me to tell you they find out the sex of their baby in a few weeks."

"That's good. I'm really happy for them. I'm sure I'll talk to you before I talk to Cam, so you gotta let me know what they're having."

"I will."

"Hand the phone to CJ..."

"Here you go." She says handing him the phone and he slowly takes it and puts it up to his ear.

"Hey Jr."

"Hey...when are you coming home?"

"Not for a while...but listen, while I'm gone, you take care of your mother for me. Okay?" CJ nods. "And make sure you be good and do what she says."

"I will."

"And I promise when I get out of here, we're gonna be together as a family."

"Promise?"

"I promise...let me talk to your mom." He hands the phone back to Aaliyah.

"Thanks for coming."

"Of course."
