10. Another Mission

Liam's pov
About a week after we got back from our 'training exercise' we were called into Simon's office for a meeting.
"Hello boys" Simon said with a smile.
No one smiled back.
I noticed that Louis and Harry wouldn't go near each other and Niall and Lynn were almost conjoined.
"Haha so I think that we should discuss your next mission" he said.
We all groaned.
"NOOOOOOOO" Niall cried and got on his knees.
"Yuuuuuup so this will be a real undercover mission. No deserted islands"
"THEN WHY DID YOU SEND US-" Harry was cut off by Lynn shoving her hand over his mouth.
"That was for testing purposes" Simon said. "This time we're sending you to Beverly Hills in America. This mission is to catch a fraud. We don't know who it is yet but we know how to set up the mission. You see this person is in almost like a mafia but not as bad. The criminal has been stealing, selling drugs, and killing across the globe."
"So like a mafia?" Louis asked.
"Well- I uh...sure" Simon said.
I looked around and everyone looked a little bit uncomfortable.
"So here's the roles," he continued. "There's this mansion where we will be sending you to that we think is their HQ.
Louis you will be the butler looking for a job. And we've made sure that you will get the job so don't worry. You will serve the people in the house.
Harry and Liam you two will be on look out. Practically stalking the house. You will attend parties that's they have as friends of the family. Don't worry they have parties very often.
Niall you will join Harry and Liam but you will also be the 'delivery boy'. You will drop 'items' off at the house and also delivering information to and from Louis.
Well the next part will be new to you guys. We have another person joining us for this mission. She's a new agent here."
As if on cue the door to his office opens and my heart drops. Maddie.
She walked in and stood next to Simon. Not making eye contact with me.
"This is Agent Maddie Stuart. She, like Louis, will be staying in the mansion also. She will be a business associate and trying to find out who's the ring leader in the business. She's not joining the team, she's just helping us out with the next mission. Lynn, you will be her 'best friend' and make frequent visits to her. You guys leave in three days ok?" Simon asked. We all grumbles and made our way out of the office.
When we got into the hallway, Maddie and Louis embraced laughing.
"Uh what's going on?" Lynn asked.
"Well Maddie and I went to training school together. We were the top two students there and best friends." Louis said smiling.
Lynn just bit her lip and looked down.
"Soooo food?" Niall broke the awkwardness.
We all agreed and went to this club that Niall's been begging us to go to for some time. By an hour after being there, we may have been half drunk, if that's a thing.
"AYYYEEE I tink ders an eartquack hapwen" Niall slurred as he swayed back and forth with Lynn trying to steady him but was having a hard time controlling her own laughter.
Louis was like the party King. He stood on a table and danced crazily. Funny thing is that the people there liked it. Men and women both throwing money at him.
I just sat alone at the bar, watching over my friends to make sure that they don't do something stupid.
"I take it you're not a big drinker?" A voice says from behind me. It was Maddie and she came and took the seat next to me.
"Just watching over my friends" I said not looking at her.
"Listen Liam I-"
"No you listen. You know you're one of the most complicated people that I've met! I don't know what you're thinking or what your next move is. One minute I believe that you love me back but yet again you go behind my back and break my heart. You confuse me and I don't like it!"
"I'm sorry..."
"You're sorry? Well I guess that fixes everything!" I said sarcastically.
"Didn't Niall tell you?" She asked.
"Tell me what?"
"I-uh it's not the right time..."
"it's never the right time for you!" I snapped.
"Liam please! Can you just listen to me?"
"Haha no!" I laughed and began to get up, but was immediately pulled right back down. "What-" I was cut off by her lips pressed against mine.
"Well maybe I can spare a few minutes..." I said as we pulled apart.
Louis's pov
I was really surprised when I found out about Maddie coming along with us, but I was also confused because I thought that she had a team...
I was walking-stumbling- through the club, not really knowing where I'm going. My mind was kind of fuzzy due to the alcohol, but nothing that I can't handle.
I passed Lynn and Niall dancing with each other. I was happy for them that their actually enjoying themselves after all of this crap.
I kept walking and multiple girls tried pulling me their way but I just shrugged them off.
I stopped when I saw that familiar brown mop of curly hair. I watched Harry dance and I couldn't take my eyes off him.
He danced liked there was nothing else in the world but him and the music. I was tempted to approach him, but I saw some other get there before me.
It hurt the most when I saw Harry turn and dance with him. That was suppose to be me...
Actually no it's not! I'm the one who hurt Harry. I turned him away and left him.
Why am I so stupid?!
I felt the heat rise to my face and I felt trapped. I needed to get out. I ran to the front and went outside.
I tried taking deep breaths but it barely helped. I paced back and forth trying to get a grip.
When I turned around, I found myself face to face with the front of a gun. I shut my eyes and when I opened them back up, nothing was there.
I'm hallucinating, I thought.
Shoot shoot shoot!
I couldn't get back in the club because Liam have my IDs so I wouldn't lose them.
My breathing became more ragged and I started having tunnel vision.
No no no. Stop it Louis!
The street lights began to swirl and I felt my knees buckle.
I expected to feel the cold, hard ground hit my body, but it didn't. I felt like I was being held.
When I looked up, I looked straight into the green eyes that I missed so much.
A/N: Sooooooo there you go.... It wasn't really the best of my chapters but I needed to post. Hopefully the next one will be better.
