Not Just Another Cliché

I hear a knock on my bedroom door and turn to see Casey leaning up against it with his million dollar smile playing on his oh so kissable lips.

"Ready?" He asks stepping away from the door and over to me.

I nod and lift up my suitcase.

"Let me." He says.

He pulls my suitcase out of my room and down the stairs while I pick up my back pack and throw it over my shoulder then look around my room making sure I didn't forget anything then follow Casey down.

I walk into the kitchen to find my mom slaving over the stove with Zoey beside her cutting up carrots or something.

"Bye mom, we're off." I say.

"Bye sweetie. Please please please be careful. Casey you watch over her." My mom warns.

"Don't worry Rachel, she's in good hands." Casey says coming up beside me and wrapping his arm around my waist sending shivers everywhere.

"I know I can trust both of you." Zoey says.

"Bye guys and good luck tonight. You'll be great." I say giving my mom a hug.

My mom has the chief from the police department coming over to the house for dinner tonight because he has news.

Zoey and Andy are staying for moral support.

I go into the living room and hug my dad and Andy saying goodbye.

"Have fun." Everyone screams as we leave and walk over to Holly and Seth who are waiting in Seths truck.

We hop in the back and drive off.

"Oh my G Em did you ever think this time last year that we'd be heading off to Coachella on senior ditch day with our boyfriends?" Holly squeals and I chuckle.

I look at Casey and take his hand lightly placing my little one in his.

"Never. And technically senior ditch day is tomorrow since we left school like 4 hours ago and it takes almost a day to drive to Indio." I say.

"A day?" She gasps and I nod.

She jumps back in her seat and sighs.

"How long now?" She asks Seth.

"We haven't even left Oakwood yet babe. It's another good bit."

Holly groans and we all laugh.

"Dude if you want we can't switch half way through." Casey offers.

"I'll definitely take you up on that offer Case." He says.

A good few hours pass and it's pitch black as we drive through Arizona.

Casey is now driving and I'm beside him in the passenger seat as Holly and Seth sit in the back, asleep.

I'm on the verge of sleep since it is like 4:30am but I want to keep Casey company.

"Okay, your turn." Casey says.

"Um, I spy with my little eye, something the colour, green."

"Trees." Casey answers quickly and I chuckle since that's the only thing we have been seeing for 2 hours.

I sit up in my seat and look out the window then back to Casey.

"Um Case, do you know where we're going." I question.

"Yes obviously. I've been to Cali before Em. I knew where to go."

"Are you sure? Because these trees are starting to look very familiar. I'm pretty sure I spied these 10 minutes ago."

"Trees are trees Em. They all look the same. Trust me, we're not lost. New Mexico is like an hour and a half from here and then New Mexico to California is like another 5 hours. 7 hours tops and we'll be there so at around 11 we'll reach Indio. Promise"

"I trust you." I smile.

"I say Coach you say ella. Coach,"

"Ella." We say with such disinterest.

We are driving around the camp site trying to get a good place to set up our tents and Holly just keeps squealing and singing.

"Holls please keep an eye out for free spots. The quicker we find one the longer time we have to get ready for later." I say as I drive.

Yes, it's my turn to drive now.

"There. Found one." Seth yells.

I pull over in a free parking spot and we all hop out examining the surroundings.

"Looks good." Casey says.

"Ground is flat." I join in.

"Plenty of room." Seth points out.

"Perfect. Now while you set up the tents I'm gonna get ready, chow." Holly says but I pull her back.

"You have to help set up our tent." I smile.

"Our tent? Are we not sleeping separately with our boyfriends?"

"Well I don't mind. I just thought we would be sharing." I say.

"Well I ain't sleeping with Casey. He snores." Seth says.

"I snore?" Casey questions.

I walk up to him and place my chin on his shoulder.

"Yes but it's cute. I don't mind your snoring." I smile.

"Well in that case. Couple on couple." Casey says enveloping me in a hug.

"Oh I bet." Holly smirks and I hide my face in Caseys chest as everyone laughs.

"Hurry up Holls." I groan as I put my shoes on.

"It starts in 10 minutes Holly. I'll be outside." I say opening the tent and walking out to meet Casey and Seth leaning up against Seths truck.

Casey jumps off when he sees me and walks up to me with his mouth agape.

"Wow." He says and I chuckle as I drop my head then raise it looking at him.

"Thank you. I think." I say and he laughs and then games my hands in his and brings them to his lips.

"You look amazing Em." He whispers.

"You don't look too bad yourself." Lies.

He looks god damn amazing in his denim Bermuda shorts with an open shirt that has palm trees on them and he's wearing a white t-shirt underneath that's tight enough to show you his amazing body but not too tight that it looks like he can't breath.

Me on the other hand, I'm wearing the pink skort I bought yesterday and I matched it with a cami top that's tied at the front to show my belly button piercing that Holly bullied me into getting in Freshmen year.

I gotta admit, it was cute, but it hurt like hell.

I finally got Holly to give in a let me wear my converse which shows my cheer charm anklet that Tammy gave me last year that only head cheerleaders can have.

My hair is tied back in a loose ponytail that shows my wavy hear and I have my ray bans aviators shielding the sun from my eyes.

I hear the tent unzip and Holly walks out looking stunning.

I look at Seth and see his lips trying to form words but he just keeps opening and closing his mouth.

"I believe the word you are trying to say is wow, Sethy boy." I tease patting him on the back making Casey chuckle.

"Wow." Seth breaths out.

Holly is wearing a white play suit with brown ankle boots and her curly hair is tamed as it falls down her back and shoulders.

"Well shall we go?" Casey pipes in.

"Let's." I say and then we all hop into the truck and drive to the venue.

Once we arrive, we all hop out and are blasted with the sweet sound of the first act, Ellie Goulding.

"I'm gonna get drinks, want one?" Casey shouts over the loud music.

"Um a water please."

Seth goes with Casey leaving me and Holly in the middle.

10 minutes pass and the boys still haven't come back.

"Hey, I think I might go look for the guys. They are taking a while." I say.

"It's Coachella Em, there's gonna be a line."

I assume she's right and continue listening to the music until I feel a hand touch my butt.

I freeze and then assume it's Casey and I turn around to be faced with a dark haired hunk.

If I wasn't with Casey I'd get me a piece of that cheese but Casey is well better than this guy.

I jump away and look at the stranger.

"What are you doing?" I exclaim.

A smirk forms on his lips and he lifts his chin and looks back at me.

"Wondering what a pretty girl like you is doing here all alone." He smirks and I scoff and cross my arms.

"Back off dude, she's not interested." Holly says.

"Did you really think that would work?" I question.

"It worked on all the other girls."

"Well she's not like other girls." A voice says from behind me.

I look around to see Casey holding two bottles of water and walks up to me and wraps his arm around my waist pulling me closer to him protectively.

"Ah, so you're not alone." The dude says.

"No, and she will never will be."

"Alright alright," he backs up holding his hands up in defence.

"I'll just get me some of the best friend." He says walking towards Holly but I gasp and jump from Caseys grasp and kick him at the back of his legs so he falls on top of a random guy who turns around not looking too impressed and throws a dig at him.

"Hey what's going on?" Seth asks as he walks up to us.

"This doof tried to hit on Em and Holly." Casey explains.

"He what!" He exclaims.

He taps the guy on his shoulder and when he turns around, he punches him repeatedly until Casey jumps in to break them up but the victim has friends who knee Casey in the gut.

Casey throws his arm back and hits him right in the nose and me and Holly try to break it up but Seth and Casey keep pushing us away.

"Seth stop. Forget about it, please." Holly begs.

"Come on Casey. I'm over it, it doesn't matter." I yell.

I see a big man coming up and breaking the 4 guys up and back up comes too and I run to Caseys side and hold him back.

I look at him and gently place my fingers on his split lip and bruised eye.

"You're hurt." I whisper.

"Yeah, that guy may be a jerk but he doesn't play around." He chuckles.

"All of you are banned for the day. You can return for the 2nd day but today it's over. Get out now." The security guard says.

We all walk away and back to the truck.

"Where to now?" Holly asks.

"I have my speaker in my truck. How about blast some music and drive around?" Seth suggests.

"Sounds good?" I question.

"It should be good." Casey says.

"Sure, it's like 9 I ain't going to bed now." Holly complains.

"I'm sorry we got kicked out Holl, I know how much you were looking forward to this." I say rubbing her arm.

"It's okay, the guys were sticking up for us. It was on good ends."

"So are we doing this or not?" Seth and Casey say in unison opening the truck doors.

I'm about to hop in the back but Casey grabs me by the waist and gently puts me up against a tree.

"We, are sitting on the bed of the pick up." He whispers.

I look at him curiously and he runs over to the tent and shouts out to me.

"Stay there and don't look, it's a surprise." He says and I chuckle putting my hands over my eyes.

A few minutes pass and a lot of screaming to Holly and Seth by telling them to chill down because we were taking so long.

It was like 3 minutes!

"Okay, now take my hand and follow me." He says and I do what I'm told until we stop and I remove my hands from my eyes.

"Casey." I breath out.

He set up the bed of the truck as like a bed with our bed covers and pillows.

"It may not be perfect and entirely planned, but it's the best I could do since I didn't know this would happen." He says and I cut him off by jumping on my tippy toes and wrapping my arms around his neck and hugging him.

"This is incredible. Thank you." I whisper.

"Awh Casey, that's so cute. Why don't you ever do stuff like that for me?" Holly asks Seth hitting him on the shoulder.

Seth curls his lips and looks at Casey, "thanks Casey, thanks very much."

We all chuckle and they walk back to the front seats while we hear Seth telling Holly that, "they are still in the honeymoon period."

Casey helps me up to the bed of the truck and we sit down on, each on a pillow, across from each other.

Seth starts the truck and Holly shouts out the window.

"Any recommendations?"

I look at Casey and he calls back, "eyes shut."

The song begins to play and I look over Caseys shoulder as we drive out of the campsite and out onto a woods road.

3/4 hours pass of giggles and jokes and absolute perfection. It's now 12:58.

The Windows begin to get foggy and it's cold and 'Faded' by Alan Walker plays through Seths huge speaker.

"You cold?" Casey asks me and I nod.

He carefully stands up and takes his jumper off and places it over my head and I take a sniff of his scent and smile.

"Thank you." I say and he smiles.

We reach across the window and start playing with each other's hands when he moves his away and I see him reach to the big window beside us and he wrote through the fog words that I can't tell until he finishes but once he does, I feel butterflies erupt in my stomach and I smile.

'I love you.'

I smile and look down at my lap and then back at him where I piece of hair falls over my eyes.

"I love you too." I whisper.

A smile forms on his lips he pulls me over to him by my hand and I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him gently and not rough and hungry but soft, gentle and passionately.

Oh how, I love him.

We pull apart and he lifts his hand and softly takes the hair from my eyes and kisses my forehead.

"I am insanely in love with you Emily Hunter. Always and forever."

He reaches into his back pocket and pulls out a box and my heartbeat quickens rapidly.

"Don't worry it's not an engagement ring. Not yet anyway."

He opens it and it reveals a necklace with the letter E in script hanging from it but a C is formed at the bottom.

"E+C." I whisper as I touch the letters.

"Always and forever." He whispers back and he puts it around my neck and once he finishes, I lie down on his chest and fall into a deep slumber.

This has been the best night ever!

Long chapter!
I have been planning this chapter for weeks and I just couldn't wait to get it out because believe it or not, this is what happened to me last year when me, my boyfriend and our 2 best friends went to Coachella, minus the fight and the Alan Walker song. I actually can't remember what song it was but it was incredible.
