Not Just Another Cliché

"Bye guys." Me and Casey say in unison as we hop out of Seths truck with our bags in hand.

Casey walks me to my door and I smile.

"Thank you for an amazing weekend." I say.

"Thank you for an even better one. I love you Emily."

My heart skips a beat and the smile doesn't leave my face.

"I love you too." I whisper.

He kisses my forehead one more time and then walks off into his house.

Nobody's home because they decided to visit my aunt Abby.

I open the door and once I close it, I lean against it a sigh still wearing my smile.

He always seems to put a smile on my face.

"I love him." I say to myself.

And I don't just love him like I did last month, I really love him. And he loves me and it couldn't have been a better way to tell me.

I pick up my bags off the floor and place them in my room and then hop in for a shower.

Once I'm finished, I change into a sports bra and grey sweatpants and brush my hair out and into 2 French braids.

We all agreed that once we got home, we'd have a chill day. Just watch movies and get take out so I just chill on my bed waiting for them.

About 10 minutes later I hear a knock on my window and I look up to see Casey.

Butterflies instantly erupt in my stomach at the sight of him.

"Hey beautiful, is it cool to come over now?" He asks.

I can't answer so I just nod and he laughs at my awkwardness and climbs the window and throws himself on the bed.

Seconds after that, the front door opens  and Holly hollers through the house.

"Yo love birds, get your asses down here and stop multiplying." She says and we both chuckle but my cheeks flush in embarrassment.

We jog down the stairs and all of us gather in the living room.

Seth and Holly on one sofa where Holly rests her head on Seths chest and I'm sitting on the floor in front of Casey who's arms are around my neck.

"What we watching?" I question.

"White Chicks." Holly answers quickly.

"I'm sorry but everyone has been going on about it lately and I've never seen it." She explains.

"White chicks it is then. Who wants to order the food?" I ask as I scroll through the Netflix genres searching for White Chicks.

"I've been craving Kung Pao Chicken. We need to get Chinese." Holly insists.

"Lads?" I question.

"I'm cool with that." They both say and then we order our take out.

A few minutes into White Chicks, the doorbell rings.

"I got it." I say taking the money off the table and walking to the door.

I open it and see a familiar face.

A face I wouldn't miss.

"Doctor by day, Chinese delivery guy by night." I smile and he smiles back at me.

"It's my brothers gig. He was in a minor car accident a few days ago and his boss either said he loses his job or he works and I'm a doctor and I know that he shouldn't be working so I took it over the night. He'll be back in action next week." Lance explains.

Remember Lance? Doctor McDreamy?

"Oh well it's really sweet of you to do that. Will he be okay?"

"He'll be fine just a few scratches and bruises maybe a couple broken ribs and a concussion but hey, people are dying." He says and I chuckle.

"Nice way to put it alright." I say and he joins in laughing.

"Em what's taking long?" Casey asks coming out and standing beside me.

"Ah Lance, first a footballer then a doctor now a delivery guy. Jeez you really don't like to stick to one thing do you." He says and I elbow him lightly in the stomach.

"I'll let Emily explain it to you. Here's your food. That'll be $17.20."

We hand him a $20 bill and tell him to keep the change and when Casey walks into the living room with the food, Lance hands me a folded piece of paper and then walks off and into his car.

I walk into the living room after closing the door and Holly instantly jumps out of Seths ground and pushes me into the kitchen.

"Doctor McDreamy gave you his number?" She gasps.

"Shhhh. Don't tell Casey, he'll flip. We don't know it's his number anyway."

"Well open it and find out."

I open it and instantly look away.

"What was it?" Holly says with a smirk.

"His number." I murmur inaudibly.

"His what?"

"His number." I say louder. A lot louder because when Casey walks into the kitchen, he hears.

"Who's number?" He questions going to the fridge and taking out 4 bottles of water.

I quickly grab the paper off of Holly and shove it into my back pocket.

"Just the Chinese restaurants number." I answer quickly.

"Why?"

"Um, b-because they didn't deliver our, our, fries. Our fries. They didn't deliver our fries so we are just gonna call them to give them a piece of our minds." I say and regret it as soon as it leaves my mouth.

"We didn't order fries Em."

"I know that."

"I'm gonna leave you both to it." Holly says walking back into Seth.

Curse you Holly Nadia Collins.

I close my eyes tight and turn around so I have my back to Casey and I lean on the counter top.

"And I know you Emily. I'm kind of hurt that after nearly 14 years, you still think I can't see through you. I know when you're lying Em."

I sigh and turn around and take the paper out of my pocket.

"Lance gave me his number." I say.

Caseys face falters a bit and then he chuckles and hands me a bottle of water.

"You're laughing?!? Either you hate me or you're going crazy." I say in shock.

He throws his arm around my shoulders and guides me to the living room.

"You see, if we weren't dating and you didn't tell me you loved me less than 5 days ago, I would be super pissed and go right now and key that guys car and then his throat but since we are dating and this is solid, at least I hope it is anyway, I know I've nothing to worry about." He explains.

"It is." I assure.

"What's what?"

"It's solid. Us. We, are solid."

Casey sits on the sofa and I sit back on the floor and he bends over and places his lips on mine.

"I love you Emily Hannah Hunter."

"I love you too Casey Tyler St Cloud."

"Dry poops." Casey mutters as the credits of Whits Chicks roll onto the screen and we look over at Seth and Holly asleep.

"What time is it?" I ask.

"9." He says and I chuckle.

"You know Holly will have everyone awake by 12."

"Ugh I know. When will your mom and dad be back?"

"Tomorrow. They are staying the night in the hotel. My mom feels really bad dumping Liv on you all so much these past few weeks but there's some work stuff going on that I haven't a clue about but she does be really stressed."

"Don't sweat it. Meg loves her."

There's a silence throughout the room until I break it bringing up a topic I've been dreading mentioning to my friends.

"Have you decided what college you're going to?" I question hesitantly.

He sighs and I feel him shake his head.

"Kentucky sent out a letter yesterday. Reminding me about the open day that the scout told me about." He explains.

"You should go. We can celebrate our friendship another day."

"No Emily, we can't. We met on the 27th of April and we will celebrate on the 27th of April."

"But we are dating now, we have another day to celebrate."

"You just don't get it Emily. On the 27th of April, my love for you just grew and without that day we wouldn't have the 11th of April."

I chuckle and smile up at him, "you are the only guy I know who cares so much about anniversaries."

"It's not the anniversary it's the reasoning behind it and the person."

"Well how about I go with you to Kentucky and we can stay in a hotel and you can go on your tour and then later that night we can go for dinner and a movie."

"It's less than I had planned, but it's better than nothing."

"Where are we going?" Holly asks jumping off of Seths lap and over to us.

"We, are going Kentucky next weekend." I explain gesturing between me and Casey.

"Oh my god are we actually. Sethy, guess where we are going next weekend." She squeals.

"No Holls," I begin but get cut off.

"Let her be. We only have so many days left together." He smiles and I can't help but smile back.

How did I get so lucky to have this guy as my best friend and now my boyfriend?
